    Half the plane disappeared in a flash. Donovan was gone, lost to the howling tempest. Waking from the crash you find yourself alone, trapped in a frozen wilderness, your only companions a court-mandated therapy bot and temperatures that can cut a man to shreds.

    You are Kai, a pilot without a plane lost in the wilderness of the far north. You'll need your wits about you to brave the elements, find your co-pilot and get the hell out of Dodge.     Even though I loved my time with Arctic Awakening, it did frustrate me in equal measure. The pacing is sometimes off, and there are moments when the story wanders off track. But the overall premise is great, and the visuals and soundtrack are lovely.

    It takes something special for me to love a walking sim and trust me there are some really good ones out there. Arctic Awakening does fine, and I’d hear an argument to include it within top contenders. For me though, what holds it back is the length and the slowness that comes with it. Technical bugs aside, Arctic Awakening is worthy title in the genre however and fans should keep an eye out.

    Stranded in the icy wilds with only a therapy bot for company, Arctic Awakening promises mystery and emotion but delivers frustration and bugs. There’s a great game buried in the snow, but it’s still waiting to be uncovered. Maybe the upcoming updates will help.
