Well now you can. What the Box? is a game that promotes cardboard violence and as wacky as it sounds it’s actually a pretty decent game. Don’t get me wrong it’s far from being perfect and it does have a few shortcomings but it gets more things right than it gets wrong and most important of all there’s quite a bit of fun to be had with the game. Unique game’s are few and far between nowadays and that’s because over the year’s we’ve pretty much seen everything so when a unique game like What the Box? comes out you end up enjoying the game even more, especially when the unique mechanics combine together. Despite this game featuring a new unique idea I would still recommend that you play the game in short bursts though because it can get repetetive quite quickly. That being said it’s a game that can be very enjoyable when played every now and then and I can definitely see this being a game I return to time and time again. Returning to this game time and time again won’t be a problem either because there are a variety of modes for you to get to grips with and this without a doubt keeps the gameplay fresh and interesting for longer. Speaking about the gameplay it’s very easy to understand so anybody can enjoy this game, but don’t let its simplicity put you off because that’s not all there is because there are plenty of decent strategy moments included in the game as well. Picking your moments to kill boxes is very important and it’s also fun as well especially when you go on a nice killing spree. Whilst killing boxes is very satisfying it would’ve been even more satisfying if there were more weapons available for you to use because using the same weapons over and over again can become tedious. Thankfully though I did end up forgetting about the game’s lack of weapons in the end and that was mainly down to the maps and the enjoyment the game’s maps bring, which is very high when you play with a group of friends. If you’re looking for a game with a very good presentation side of things then you won’t find it here, but it doesn’t need it in my opinion because as far as the presentation side of this game goes its simple approach in both the visuals and sound design is more than enough to keep you satisfied and it also has more than enough when it comes to its charm. At the end of the day What the Box? is perfect for when you want to pass some time with friends. It’s a game that doesn’t take itself too seriously and its wacky ideas and wacky gameplay make you forget about its shortcomings which means it does enough to get a thumbs up from me.… Expand
