    Warhammer: 40,000 Mechanicus is full of music, sound effects and interesting characters throughout. It's a pity that the game lacks in its overall story as it seems like a bunch of random events - possibly unrelated or possibly aimed to be related happenings that may have just missed delivery to me. After several missions the game also starts to feel gets to feel a bit repetitive, theWarhammer: 40,000 Mechanicus is full of music, sound effects and interesting characters throughout. It's a pity that the game lacks in its overall story as it seems like a bunch of random events - possibly unrelated or possibly aimed to be related happenings that may have just missed delivery to me. After several missions the game also starts to feel gets to feel a bit repetitive, the fluff of mission has basically no bearing on what you do - you simply go in, kill everything that moves, rinse and repeat. Granted, there are text based messages happening, but that's not what I am usually playing these games for. Overall worth it, but perhaps best to grab it when it goes on a discount at the current price of admission. After enjoying Chaosbane so thoroughly I would have loved to see a continuation of such a great live action game in the style if Balder’s Gate or Champions of Norath. In the end any fan of the Warhammer franchise will be pleased and this game could definitely be a good place to begin your Warhammer experience its slow paced enough without becoming dull as coming in and dominating everyone, you have to use strategy and thought with each battle as you progress.… Expand

    Warhammer 40k: Mechanicus is definitely a game for those who are familiar with the Warhammer 40k universe from playing the table top game, reading the books, or having previously played other video games such as the “Dawn of War” series. Combat is quite challenging but simple enough that players can pick it up quickly after a bit of trial and error. I would have like to have seen more in the way of a stronger combat tutorial that explains how the interface works. This would have lessened the already intense learning curve and made it easier for all console players. Given that this game originally launched on PC, I don’t think it’s been adapted very well for consoles and some extra work to smoothen the transition would have made a world of difference. But at the end of the day, it’s a good game once you know what you’re doing.

    There’s a ton of lore and backstory that Warhammer fans should truly enjoy, finally getting to play as The Adeptus Mechanicus faction. While non or casual Warhammer fans won’t be as impressed or enthralled with the attention to detail and amount of lore within, Warhammer 40,000: Mechanicus is an entertaining turn based strategy game that can offer a ton of challenge for those wanting it as long as you can get over the initial frustrations and learning curve like the pathetic organic lifeform the Mechanicus believe us to be.

    As I mentioned earlier I’ve played everything Warhammer from the Xbox 360 on and I can recommend most of them, but this is the first title I can recommend for both Warhammer enthusiasts and novices alike, as there’s enough story and lore content and plenty of interesting and challenging gameplay to satisfy both groups.
