Completing jobs and driving safely, you'll earn income and trust from the city locals, which in turn will allow you to get more work. This game offers a full on-road experience as there is a wide range of cargo to transport as well as interesting characters to work with. You will always know who your'e working for and what type of cargo you be responsible for hauling. As you explore in Truck Driver through a seamless open world with a diverse landscape and alluring towns on the Xbox One, you'll encounter interesting stories from characters and experience the eventful career life of a trucker. You also have to watch out for random hazards, red light cameras and of course radar detectors. You're responsible for you driving hours, and the freight being delivered timely and safely as well. There's a host of customizations available for you vehicle from looks to aerodynamics, there's a lot of options to flesh out your rig and life on the road. It was also surprising to see the Xbox version arrive ahead of the PC version coming this November. This is the most advanced version of a trucking sim you will find on a gaming console, and I look forward to a lot of potential DLC or expansions for this gem by Soedesco. I do wish the city map was a a little larger, and there's times when you may be tagged for running a red light that you didn't on occasion but as the updates come along I'm sure this wonderful simulator will iron out those bugs. It's also worth noting that the game feels smooth and the controls are very responsive and many angles to choose from in cab to high in the sky you can drive in the view that fits best to your driving likes. Definitely a worthy purchase if you're into the this genre and looking forward to see how this evolves in the coming year on the Xbox One family of consoles.… Expand

    Truck Driver is just fantastic. I pre-ordered the game and have not stopped playing since its release. For so many years I hoped that someone somewhere would bring a trucking game to console and Soedesco has delivered. I don't see why people are so bent on comparing it to ATS and ETS2 if none of them are on console and have had years to develop a full on simulation. For being the first ofTruck Driver is just fantastic. I pre-ordered the game and have not stopped playing since its release. For so many years I hoped that someone somewhere would bring a trucking game to console and Soedesco has delivered. I don't see why people are so bent on comparing it to ATS and ETS2 if none of them are on console and have had years to develop a full on simulation.     I bought this on release and was so excited to play it. I have never been so disappointed with a game as I was with this. You could barely hear the engine sound. It felt like you had no grip on the road I would not recommend this game a waste of money

I have being waiting for a long time for that game and sure enjoyed it for 4 days then those missions you have to drive your truck loaded at speed that’s unbelievable it is not what I expected being watching too many you tube on truck simulator I expected the same, shame on me for buying it, I don’t like racing games I just wanted to drive like a good trucker.… Expand

    Truck Driver is an absolutely fantastic game. The atmosphere and the gameplay are nice and relaxing. I love the storyline approach. The characters are memorable and it is highly satisfying and rewarding to help them develop their companies and fulfil their dreams. Kudos for Soedesco and Triangle Studios for bringing a trucking game to consoles. A must-have!

    Here is my preliminary conclusion after about 16 hours on the XBox One X:

    Pros: - pretty nice and varied map - good driving experience of the trucks - well populated with pedestrians and cars - sufficient update possibilities in the garage - support of various steering wheels - the only truck simulator available on consoles - nice day night cycle Cons: - map to small, maximum    Here is my preliminary conclusion after about 16 hours on the XBox One X:

    Pros:
    - pretty nice and varied map
    - good driving experience of the trucks
    - well populated with pedestrians and cars
    - sufficient update possibilities in the garage
    - support of various steering wheels
    - the only truck simulator available on consoles
    - nice day night cycle

    Cons:
    - map to small, maximum travel time under 10 minutes
    - to linear jobs, no own tour planning
    - truck sounds hardly noticeable in the cockpit
    - no NPC trucks
    - no traffics jams or other disruptions of traffic
    - no Multiplayer
    - not enough content for long time motivation
    - sometimes flickering textures
    - no rain, snow or frozen streets
    - elastic band traffic KI, which often disregards the traffic rules
    - fast boring soundtrack, no support of other music sources like web radios

    My final conclusion:
    Makes fun for around 15 hours, but then becomes very monotonous and is therefore not worth the current purchase price of almost 40 €. Wait with the purchase until a multiplayer mode is implemented and the game on sale for less than 20 €.    … Expand

    This is a absolutely fantastic game, I love playing it every chance I get. The graphics are absolutely great. It feels like I am actually there driving a truck. That said though, I would like to make a suggestion to make the vehicle roster a bit bigger. I would want semi trucks that have its engine in the front, instead of in the middle.     The game looks and sounds nice, but everything else is a mess: the layout of the roads is way too complicated and often makes no sense, the AI drives like crazy (at one point the AI crashed into my truck, throwing me onto the oncoming lane on a 4 way highway!) or they are too slow (hatchbacks driving 40 on a 50 mph drive way, or sedans driving 50 on a 75 mph highway), traffic lights onThe game looks and sounds nice, but everything else is a mess: the layout of the roads is way too complicated and often makes no sense, the AI drives like crazy (at one point the AI crashed into my truck, throwing me onto the oncoming lane on a 4 way highway!) or they are too slow (hatchbacks driving 40 on a 50 mph drive way, or sedans driving 50 on a 75 mph highway), traffic lights on highways, but none in the city. Your energy depletes way too fast just like the expensive petrol. This needed years more polishing before release. Even the DLC is already one and a half year postponed, so I wonder how long they need to polish that one up. Considering the $39.99 asking price, wait for a steep discount.     The good: The scenery is quite impressive, especially around sunset or at night. In that respect, it's a beautiful game. It's also quite simple and has a relatively short learning curve. The diversity and realism of other cars on the road is pretty good.

    The bad: I find the frequency of rest needed to be annoying and somewhat tedious.     The bad: I find the frequency of rest needed to be annoying and somewhat tedious. Also, the text convo experience is slow and fairly cheesy. The physics aren't great. For example, a fully loaded truck doesn't seem to carry momentum when coasting and speeds change too rapidly (both accelerating and decelerating). I've never driven a truck but I've seen 'em enough to know they take all afternoon to get up to speed. Also, I never see other trucks? Maybe that's later in the game but for now, I'm always the only truck on the road.

    Overall: If you're REALLY into trucking, there aren't many (any?) other options for xbox so give it a try. But it's not a complete game, more of a cheap sim.    … Expand

    Great game, but why is the Venture Truck drivibg like **** I got the automatic one and it wont go above 6th gear aprox 45kmh for too long. Why is that?

    Loading up Truck Driver for the first time gives a real sense of interest and intrigue, this being the first ‘trucking’ game on consoles. But then afterwards, every little thing that the game presents will dampen your spirits, leaving you to drive with no passion through a bare-bones game that needs to visit the nearest petrol station for a refill and tune-up.
