I wish I had played this game before. After a long time, I am quite happy that I played a real AAA quality FPS game with story, gameplay and graphics. The game is quite entertaining and the story is touching. I wish I had played this instead of BF1 or COD Infinite Warfare that came out that year.

Great little shooter. After some long drawn out open world adventures this is a perfect side step. A reasonably short campaign with some fun combat. Well worth your time.

This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. A masterpiece of first-person shooters. I have not been totally encapsulated by an FPS like I was playing Titanfall 2 since Halo: Reach.

The movement system is butter-smooth; just running around the place feels like a ten out of ten game within itself. Wall-running, double-jumping, and movement-based tactical abilities like a grappling hook are all thrown into a big melting pot to create what might be the best and nicest-feeling movement system of any video game to grace humanity.

The weapons all look and feel incredibly unique and intriguing, from the beefy and brutal machine gun that is the Spitfire to the tiny double-barreled submachine gun that is the Alternator. With all the weapons being so reliable in their own right, swapping weapons never means you consequently have to swap the way you play; you could play the same way holding a mid-ranged assault rifle as you could holding a bolt-action sniper rifle.

The story mode and its characters are very well-written, particularly the main protagonist Jack Cooper and his Titan BT-7274; BT is perfectly literal and comedic, putting a lighter side onto the grittiness that is the deaths of the militia and the war overall. BT's death and revival is excellent, and does not come across as a basic "oh, the cool guy died but then survived miraculously" - it makes sense and makes you work for it.

All in all, this game is masterfully crafted in basically every way. Art style, aesthetics, weapon design, map design, character writing, story writing... I could go on forever.

Put simply, please try this game, ESPECIALLY if you are looking for a game to play. Everything about it is great.

Played this for the first time with XSX enhancements and I was blown away with how smooth the gameplay was in the campaign. I loved the first Titanfall but it was all MP focused. The campaign with this one really ensured it showed off all the great movement abilities of pilots. The mechanics you get to employ while playing the campaign were neat and fun as well.

Graphically this game is beautiful. It looks great, the FPS is great, and the art style and world design is actually really cool.

As a sci-fi universe this game has great world building and interesting lore. Think space colonization and frontier planets with faction wars and military drama.

The campaign... is one of the best FPS campaigns, again since reach. Wow it is good! Boss battles, great and diverse level design, a good story, with some really touching moments. This is a must play for sure!

I just want Titanfall 3 from Respawn.

Also quick comment on Respawn, they are the best thing EA has going for them. This studio gave us Titanfall 1-2, Apex, and Starwars Jedi Fallen Order. What a quality studio!

Not played the original but thought this was excellent. Very fast and slick FPS which mixes things up by being able to take control of Titans which are basically large walking robot tanks. What isn't to like? The single player campaign isn't huge but it's very well paced between action and some jumping challenges. Good fun!

If you arent into very rich stroy driven games or are looking for a relaxing game to play definitely give it a try.
The multiplayer is near perfection. There are certain gameplay features like smart pistol (aimbot but ok) and some broken guns on console thanks to aim assist (im looking at you spitfire) that do get annoying, but its not enough to make me hate the game, or put it down in any way. People in the low reviews will complain that its just cod with mechs and they simply say that because they arent good at the game (seriously thats it). the movement system in this game is one of the best of all time. Slidehopping, air strafing, wall kicks, stim ejecting and the list goes on. Grapple slingshotting around the map is soooo much fun and for any new players i highly recommend getting into the movement becausae the game is 1000x better than without. Those that say its too slow simply havent invested any time into figuring out the movement, which is really their problem becasue the game promotes it .and there are many tutorials just a youtube search away.
ty for reading if you got this far and if this has convinved you to play titanfall 2 then im sure you wont be disappointed.

I believe no game currently is but it is borderline perfection. And before you see reviews saying it's a copy of COD Infinite Warfare it isn't, COD riped off the original Titanfall. Now for the actual review. This game is a masterclass on how to make a game sequel or just a sequel as a whole, Respawn managed to make a sequel that is better than original that gave what people asked for in return for very little. The Campaign is one example of this. In the original the campaign didn't exist it was an "online experience" which people weren't a fan of, so they added it to this game and it was great! Sure it was a basic story with mostly basic character besides the 2 protagonists, but where it shines is in the levels. Every level is different and unique while still managing to be on same planet, including that every level has its own gimic that gets swapped out every level so you won't get bored. With all of the levels beginning built around if you are in your Titan or if your a pilot. And the multiplayer, the multiplayer is easily one of if not THE best of all time every map is built for and around the movement of pilots and titans. Along with that the sandbox is insane with every weapon being a unique pain. Other than that I can't describe the feeling of playing as a pilot nothing but actually playing the game can describe the feeling. Запомнился уровень с возможностью перемещения во времени - не ново, но сделано интересно! Не очень понятно зачем нужны вариативные диалоги с титаном, они явно не меняют происходящего, сделано скорее для галочки. This game is great. The game play was amazing, and the story was surprisingly good. The gun play in this game was top notch, and I loved the parkour. Playing this game was a blast. Only complaint was that it was pretty short, at just about 8 hours to beat. Overall, great game.

An improvement over the original "Titanfall". This sequel felt like a complete game from day one. Respawn Entertainment added a single player campaign that felt truly inspired, while multiplayer was expanded upon. Fans of Apex Legends should seek this out as it is a prequel to that Battle Royale shooter. I would rate this with a 9 out of 10.

You play as Rifleman Jack Cooper, a pilot-in-training under the guidance of Captain Lastimosa, both of whom are serving as members of the Frontier Militia who are at war with The Interstellar Manufacturing Corporation or IMC. Cooper and Lastimosa are both called in to combat on the IMC controlled planet of Typhon. A short combat sequence ensues before Cooper and a group of Frontier MilitiaYou play as Rifleman Jack Cooper, a pilot-in-training under the guidance of Captain Lastimosa, both of whom are serving as members of the Frontier Militia who are at war with The Interstellar Manufacturing Corporation or IMC. Cooper and Lastimosa are both called in to combat on the IMC controlled planet of Typhon. A short combat sequence ensues before Cooper and a group of Frontier Militia are ambushed by The Apex Predators, lead by Kuben Blisk, who are a group of contracted mercenaries working for the IMC. They massacre the Frontier Militia soldiers and leave Cooper for dead. However, Captain Lastimosa sacrifices himself to save Cooper's life after he is mortally wounded in combat and BT-7274 is rendered immobilized. His last action is transferring over his pilot authorization to Cooper, making him BT's new Acting Pilot. After restoring BT's power cores from nearby downed airships, it's up to them to uphold the mission that was to be carried out by Captain Lastimosa.

The game's overall plot isn't much to write home about; it's perfectly fine. The one thing worth highlighting though is the relationship development between Cooper and BT. While initially tense and kind of awkward, the two of them begin to warm up to each other as the story progresses with BT offering assurance to Cooper in regards to his combat efficiency and Cooper trusting BT with his decision making. This goes a long way towards humanizing both characters despite the fact that one of them is a giant mech fighter. BT will also occasionally drop some pretty deadpan one liners that made my face perk up with a smile. I won't spoil any of them, since they need the proper context and gameplay experience.

At first, an interesting addition is the dialogue choices presented to the player, something that doesn't normally crop up in most modern FPS. However, in practice, there's only 2 options and it usually boils down to either playing it straight faced or adding a tinge of dry wit to the conversation. Don't expect it to influence the story or gameplay in any capacity. It does help you bond with the two characters a bit, but that's about all it's good for.

The core gameplay loop is split between playing as Pilot Cooper and controlling BT. As Cooper, the traversal and combat mechanics are superb. You can wall-run, double-jump, climb and slide so smoothly and seamlessly. Couple that with punchy, fast-paced combat mechanics that rival the Call of Dutys and the Battlefields of the genre and you have a gameplay loop that's endlessly fun to engage in; there's nothing more satisfying than wall running while cutting down enemy soldiers with a submachine gun. The wall-running and double-jumping abilities add tons of verticality to each level, allowing the size and scale of the levels to feel enormous; you are but one measly soldier in a giant, hostile world. The weapons are all standard to the FPS genre. You have pistols, submachine guns, assault rifles, sniper rifles, LMGs, rocket launchers, energy weapons, grenades and remote controlled explosives. The weapons all handle incredibly well and all have really unique designs.

Taking control of BT is never not euphoric, as you enter combat with other Titans and crush soldiers underneath your giant robot feet. Despite the massive nature of the Titans, combat and movement still flow rather well and can still be exciting. You have the ability to dodge enemy attacks. You can switch out various loadouts on the fly, which is nice, thus changing the types of weapons and abilities of BT. You can unlock various loadouts through story progression as they're very hard to miss during the run of gameplay. I never really found myself gravitating towards any one specific load out since they're all balanced rather well and each have there own advantages and disadvantages. If I had to pick one, I'd say the "Scorch" loadout was my favourite because lighting things on fire is never not satisfying and I probably just put myself on a watch list by typing that out...

My one tiny criticism of the Titan loadouts is that the magazine sizes on the primary weapons all feel rather meagre. I found myself reloading way more than I wanted to and it can kind of screw with the pacing of the game. Thankfully, the Titan loadouts also come with a lot of other weapons at your disposal such as shields that can catch and throw enemy projectiles back at them and a hover mechanic, just to name a few. You can also build up your Weapon's Core mode that, when activated, deals a massive barrage of death and destruction to anyone in the way.

Another criticism I have is with the Boss fights; they're all largely forgettable. Most of them take place in areas that feel too similar to areas that feature run-of-the-mill gameplay. The one boss fight that actually pulls this off is the one against Viper.

Overall, Titanfall 2 provides an incredibly fun and action oriented gameplay experience.

The addition of a single player was much needed. The campaign is fairly short depending on which difficulty you play, but it is an excellent introduction to the game and it's mechanics. It is engaging, fun, and seemless. It brings back elements from old games where you had defined boss battles and gives a bit of nostalgia for the older generation of gamers.

The multiplayer has had its ups and downs from the start but respawn had been highly active in ensuring balance and fairness in the game. You're always going to have your naysayers, and the game can den to have net code and server/client rock rate issues at times bit for the most part the gameplay is fast paced, exciting, and different everytime. The mechanics smooth, movement is smooth, and you always feel like you can learn more. The leveling up system has changed from the first and it is pretty basic and straightforward. This is good for newcomers but for those of us use to the first one, it feels bland. The lack of challenges in regeneration is sorely missed.

The change to the titans was much needed. Many compassion about the lack of customisation from the first game, but the first game devolved into everyone using the same loadout and quickly became boring. This new style allows people to master a style that suits their play, or try to get comfortable with something new. The titans themselves have a rock, paper, scissors feel to them and each one had their best and worst matchups. You could be dominating one minute and then turn around and be facing your greatest weakness. This really forces players to think strategically and figure out how to best use their titan and set themselves up for success, or utter failure.

The maps themselves have become more lane based, but they have included, and continue to include old maps. This again is to appeal to newcomers use to call of duty games. This helps with getting use to the games mechanics and the old feel is still there once you get use to the movement. This also allows for more predictable engagement areas and less chaos than the first one. This does not mean that you don't have to be as aware of your surroundings, far from it. Those who get good at the mechanics, movement, and learn the maps, can still bring their own form of chaos.

This is van be a severe problem for new players who are still learning. They may feel like they are just being dominated and cannot contribute, this being no fun. But again, this game requires you to learn something that is new to first person shooters. Call if duty players seem to have the hardest time adjusting to this. But trust me, it is easy more fun to learn this system and gives a real sense of accomplishment when you wall run kill somebody and then drop down to execute a player, and then hop back up and fly across the map to leap into your newly dropped titan, only to completely change your mindset and strategy and engage the titan that had been wrecking your team.

This game is worth the money, and i can promise you'll enjoy investing hours of gameplay.

Make no mistake: TF2 IS better than TF1. It has an enjoyable campaign with impressive platforming elements (if you were frustrated by Mirror's Edge, try TF2). Bounty Hunter is a very smart mode requiring both skill, tactics and strategy.
But the campaign is short and with many characters I WANT to forget (BT, the titan, is good fun. Everything else is totally nonsensical and poorly acted). There's no coop. Even the modes with PvE elements will be too tough on rookies. The result is that 6 months after the game came out we already have issues with matchmaking - which creates a vicious circle in which new players will have trouble entering into the game and the player counts will dwindle fast.
In the end we have a good core suffering from some weird choices & the fact that the company just doesn't have the budget to compete with the behemoths of the genre. A 7.5

Apart from being exceptionally fun, EA listened to its fans and gave us more content and value as well as removing the season pass from Titanfall 1. As for the overall gameplay, it's even more fun and polished than the first one. Wallrunning still feels great and they gave us many more abilities and weapons to use. However, I was curious to see how the wallrunning and titan gameplay would work in a campaign mode. I was completely surprised, as it is one of the best campaign modes I've played in a while, and it is the best part of this game. The missions, while mostly linear, never feel boring or repetitive. There is much more than just running and shooting. You strategically use your cloak and wallrunning abilities to evade enemies and get the drop on them, which is really important when you're playing on hard or master. And to break up the gunplay sections, they include some extremely well designed and innovative quick timing and jumping puzzles as well as time travel mechanics. The two missions that stand out to me are Effect and Cause, where you have the ability to work your way through a facility by jumping back and forth between timelines, which is important because there might be a door shut or a fire blocking your way in one timeline, forcing you to quickly jump to the other. Switching timelines is seamless and can be done with the click of a single button. I don't want to spoil too much of the level. The other mission has you navigating through a facility making prefabricated homes. Precise timing and wallrunning is essential here, and there is often more than one way to reach the next objective. Things are not always clear to you and you have to work it out for yourself. The game ends with an awesome chase sequence where you are jumping from ship to ship with your titan. It's all in first person, so these moments can give you make you tense up a little. As for the story, it's nothing amazing, but it is certainly entertaining. The relationship between you and your titan is well done. He never feels too much like a human, or too much like an uncaring robot. You can choose your dialogue, and he'll take your comment extremely literally like a robot should, and then later, he'll crack a sarcastic joke and it just throws you off a little and helps you feel more attached to him. Overall, there is never a dull moment in the campaign. However, it is quite short. I beat it in about five hours, and it is a little too easy on normal. I actually played it again on master and it took me about 7-8 hours that time. I recommend playing it on at least hard. Multiplayer, while extremely fun, is not quite perfect. They do include a ton of new weapons, modifications, abilities, whole new titans, and skins for your pilot, guns, and titan. That is much appreciated. The maps are designed well just like the last game. Pilots can stay competitive against titans if they know how to traverse the map. However, they did make changes that I wasn't happy with. Titans in this game feel incredibly weak. They die extremely quickly compared to the last game. If you're playing attrition and you're on a **** team, the match can be a nightmare. The entire enemy team will be in a titan because your teammates don't want to help you do damage to them. When you eventually call in your titan, you can get surrounded and killed within a matter of seconds, even when you're using a titan that has max health like scorch or legion. It can be extremely annoying. I don't like how they made titans weaker. A good titan player in the first game had the ability to take on multiple titans at a time if he used his abilities well. Now, it seems much harder to do that, unless the enemy has no idea what they're doing. They took away burn cards, which I wasn't too upset about, but they replaced it with a special ability with a long cooldown. It's not a bad thing, it's just not as unique as burn cards were. As with titans, you can no longer customize a titan loadout, but you select from a wide range of premade titans with unique abilities. These titans are all fun and different in their own way, so I didn't miss the option to customize too much, especially since I'm sure they were trying to balance them. 1v1 titan matchups are as fun as ever, and if you're outnumbered you can use a new "core" ability that can nearly wipe out an enemy titan. Overall with multiplayer, if you like fun fast gameplay but also playing smart and strategic, you will love the multiplayer here. I hope this game eventually gets more sales, because it deserves it. Titanfall 2 is fast, fluid, and action packed with a really fun campaign and lots of different multiplayer modes to choose from. There are some downsides to the campaign and a few other minor problems throughout, but It’s a great deal for the $60 cost and I would fully recommend supporting these developers so they are able to make another game, regardless of EA’s terrible marketing.

Titanfall 2 is without a doubt the greatest first-person shooter title I’ve yet to play on the current generation of consoles. And that’s truly saying something, because there have been some spectacular gems along the way these past few years. My reasons for this lofty accolade are many and yet they all tie in to some of the same facts and opinions as well. For example, one thing that Titanfall 2 does that few other games save for perhaps the Battlefield series have yet to match or come close to, is offer a stunning degree of customization in the multiplayer client. I’m constantly surprised- not just by the amount of camouflage or titan chassis and colors or items offered, but by the entirety of the package provided with the base game devoid of microtransactions in terms of what is already available to players through simple unlocks.

Granted, if you want to pay a dollar or five here and there, you can unlock neat special chassis and camo patterns and packs, but even at the base level without these minimal transactions there is so much available to players. Another thing that is surprisingly done quite well is the leveling and unlocks system. In the first game there didn’t seem to be too much available upon leveling up one of fifty times or making it through another generation and essentially hitting the “prestige” level and restarting. In Titanfall 2 this has been remedied by the addition of golden tickets of sorts that are called merits. Instead of hitting a specific experience cap, you gain x amount of merits per level, per weapon, per perk/feat, per titan, etc etc. All of these combine in your after action review of a match and go towards your overall level and unlocks- of which there are many, many, many things to unlock and discover (whether that be weapons, attachments, camouflages, perks/feats, etc).

Moving away from the multiplayer content for a moment, let’s discuss the equally interesting and exciting single player mode. Yes- this Titanfall title actually offers one and doesn’t skimp by adding in radio bursts of exposition and story to campaign labeled multiplayer matches. I really enjoyed fleshing out some of the characters from the first Titanfall in a standalone story of Titanfall 2’s own creation. The single player does a good job of gradually introducing mechanics and attributes of the multiplayer content through loadouts for titans and weapon pickups for pilots- essentially operating as an interactive and fully immersive tutorial. The story is in some ways cliche for the shooter environment and yet in many others it is truly interesting for all the ways it explores the relationship between man and machine. I won’t ruin any of the spectacular moments the short campaign offers, but I will say it boasts impressive mechanics, some original ideas here and there, and plenty of tight shooting, platforming, and even interesting Singularity/Portal-esque mechanics.

I came into Titanfall 2 wondering how they were going to improve upon the interesting foundation laid by the original title and I came out of my first few hours with the game totally blown away. It’s no mere matter of adding a single player campaign or perhaps adding a few additional titan classes to the mix. Titanfall 2 has completely changed a lot of things around without losing the allure of the original experience or sacrificing anything that couldn’t be built newer or better. The community is thriving so far and the developers are constantly providing reasons for us to play the game- from daily rewards and bonuses to dropping free map packs and additional content every few months like they did with the original game as well. In an industry dominated by microtransactions and paid content, Respawn and Titanfall 2 have made an excellent environment and case for providing what the players want free of major additional charges. Yes, even they aren’t perfect, but it’s much better than $20 a pop for Call of Duty maps and constant barrages of new weapons to pay to win with.

I don’t even think my glowing words can necessarily do the game itself the justice it deserves, but I’ll let the near 90% in average reviews and ratings do the talking for me. If I had to gauge the game appropriately on my own scale, I’d probably give it a 9.5/10 and that’s quite rare for me considering most titles I review typically fall within the 7.5-8.5 range on the spectrum. I’ve honestly enjoyed every single element of the game, even with the few flaws it has, and even considering the fact that most multiplayer game modes operate virtually the same with slight modifications. That’s truly a testament to how exciting and exhilarating the overall experience is.

Respawn Entertainment made this game one of the best FPS out there in the consoles and maybe the best of this gen, at least at the time I wrote this review.

After listening to their fans about the problems of the first one, they decided to add a campaign in this sequel. Maybe the campaign isn´t very long but it is very entertaining and fun, specially if you play it in the hardest difficulty. It starts a little bit slow but it's full of action and some sequences of platforming that are very epic in the design level. Also there are some boss fights but they aren't that hard, with the exception of the final boss. Maybe it isnt the best campaign but at least you should give it a chance because in my opinion it is one of the best campaigns of the fps that focus on multiplayer.

I haven´t played that much time in the multiplayer but for the 10 hours that I've played it, it has been a nice improvement in the gameplay mecanics in comparisson to the first game. Also the titan types that they have introduced are very helpful to add a lot of variety.

If you're looking for a FPS that combines fast paced action in maps bigger than cod but smaller than battlefield and the adition of mechs, don't think it twice and buy this underrated gem for the FPS genre.

Pros: Good quality and great graphics. Good multiplayer, but amazing campaign. One

of my favorite stories in a console game. The story makes me wish they would make another story and new game even though this game is basically brand new. Cons: In multiplayer there are a lot of people who lag and it throws you off quite a bit. Rarely, but still possible, there are a few crashes.

Cons: In multiplayer there are a lot of people who lag and it throws you off quite a bit.

Rarely, but still possible, there are a few crashes. There should be more maps in

multiplayer and the maps they do have don’t connect with the game except for the map

    called Complex.

The creators of Titanfall 2 are a company called Respawn with association to EA

Sports. The console I play on is Xbox 1, the game runs very well with it. It is a first

person shooter with many other characters to play as. The game itself is one of my

favorite games to play. It almost never gets boring. To buy the game new for Xbox it’s

about $59.99 same with PS4. The game is amazing you should try it.

I got the game as a present for Christmas and what I found out was that it’s a

little too easy to level up, and that you also play against G10.49’s(which is the highest

level you can be) and other high level people. Which in some cases might not be super

good. But playing with the good guys only makes you better, so that can be good or

bad, if you like things easy. Each game lasts 10 mins or sometimes you join a game

that already started. Titan-fall 2 has about 12 different game modes. The most played

game mode is Attrition or Mix-tape. Attrition is literally team death-match and Mix-tape is

just a bunch of other game modes, but it will choose a random game that is in it’s

database and will join you on any of the game modes.

My experiences with the game are pretty good, only a few times I get a little mad

when I die, but those are human errors not the game. When I got the game for

Christmas The first thing I did was play the Campaign, which I thought was good. The

setting is on a planet called Typhon and time wise the whole story took place within 18

hours. The main criminals are these bounty hunters. They are working for this big company called the IMC. The IMC takes land from the 9th Militia and destroys it. Your mission is to stop the IMC from using a super weapon on the planet Harmony. You are accompanied by a Titan named BT-7274. That's the basic knowledge you need to know for the game. I would recommend this game for people who like to play Call of Duty, Battlefield, and Destiny. This game is not good for kids under the age of 9 because it shows parts where people get blown to pieces and heads shot off. They may not be so happy about the game when that happens.

The campaign of this game is a gem, but I like the CODs campaigns, so it's easy for me to have fun with this one.
About the Multiplayer, I think there have few improvements between this and the old Titanfall, but I have to say that the maps on this one are really, really bad in comparison with the original.

It's a good game in overall, but the maps on the MP have to get better

Titanfall 2 is a fun game. Even though it has a short campaign, I had a great time playing it. Multiplayer is fun thanks to the game’s amazing gameplay, but lack of balancing and awkward level design make it a forgettable experience. I can easily say that Titanfall 2 is a good game, but its lack of depth will ensure I won’t be visiting it again anytime soon.

As a sequel, Titanfall 2 is everything it was supposed to be. By extension, that means it isn’t a game changer; it isn’t as inventive or surprising as its predecessor, but then again, it couldn’t be. Titanfall changed the trajectory of the FPS in a powerful and immediate way, and that success isn’t to be simply re-created but iterated upon dutifully. Despite Respawn’s best efforts, the game’s obvious advancements and its spectacular engagement across multiplayer, Titanfall 2 doesn’t offer the same determined focus and balance that defined its predecessor.

Cleverer and more creative than the first, this truly complete Titanfall is a game-changer. [Christmas 2016, p.71]
