I've got more than 100hrs in first Titanfall, which was in my opinion a really refreshing game to the genre. Because of this my expectations where very high when I ordered TF2.

All I can say about the SP Campaign, it's just stunning... really, JUST STUNNING!
Besides that you always have fun while playing, you can really feel, that Respawn here put 100% in the whole game.

Also as new DLC are available you get the for Free!! Games Like Call of Duty have ran their course. Once a great game, but concept has not changed in a long time.

ok so having played the original all the way up to level 10 I was so looking forward to this ... and boy was it worth the wait!

played about an hour of the single player campaign and hell it is good. Linear for sure, but it works really well. level design so far is excellent as are the graphics (xbone). Gameplay wise it's fluid and feels more mature than the original if slightly slower.

Jumped into some MP to see how that's progressed and it's awesome. It's not a out and out fast as the original but Attrition feels epic. Grinned from ear to ear when I called my first titan down.... boom! game on!!

oh and in a world of multi-GB day one patches TF2 scores big with it's minimal 88mb patch :)

so far I'm giving it 8/10 as i've only spent about 1 1/2 hours with it. I've got to get to grips with the new aspects of MP but overall I'm really, really impressed.

2.) Put a lot of depth in their MP gameplay & customization
3.) Free DLCs - we as gamers need to appreciate this fact, not a lot of developers do this now a days

This one is an easy grab among the three (i.e. including COD: XYZ, BF1). And as per my standard one of the best science fiction based FPS till date.

+Main menu networks and voice chat provide social opportunity unmatched by most other games of the genre
+Most if not all weapons are usable (Pilots and Titans)
-Titans feel weak, restrictive, and difficult to maneuver, Tone titan in particular is out of balance
-Map design has regressed from the first game due to low altitude out of bounds markers, and overall gearing towards titan combat rather than pilot engagement and parkour. Some maps feel too open.
-The dropship Epilogue still feels irrelevant, and certain flaws in farming exist, such as the easily killable reapers.

Brimming with content and quality, Titanfall 2 seeks to be the game we wanted back when Titanfall was first released a few years ago. What we have here is an offering that so far exceeds the original concept in every category that it impresses me in spite of my high expectations for it.
The single player is one of the most masterfully paced experiences I've played since the early Modern Warfare Games. The multiplayer now features a permanent unlock system and does away with the burn card system all together. Progression feels satisfying and is always giving you new toys to play with as you work towards unlocking the next new toy. The abilities significantly, and smartly, change the way you play the game and result in emergent play styles that are fun and satisfying in their own ways.
The presentation is polished to a satisfying degree resulting in a fairly constant, high frame rate throughout the game. The movement system, while impressively complex, is so well designed and executed that using it is intuitive and easy to understand. It's a point that easy to overlook until you look at other games that attempt to allow you to do half of what Titanfall 2 does with much less success.
Combat is blindingly fast and satisfying from the moment you jump onto the battlefield till the moment you almost make it into the evac ship.
My only criticism I have is that one can occasionally find themselves wandering in a barren battlefield due to running in the wrong direction after spawning. This issue will likely diminish as the prevalence of map knowledge increases over time but it can still creep up while many of us are still getting our bearings.
Overall, Titanfall 2 is a game that impresses me directly in the wake up Battlefield 1 which also impressed me in a big way. It's the Titanfall title that finally does the series justice. I eagerly await to see what new content is coming in future DLC and, eventually, in the inevitable sequel.

Everything about Titanfall 2 is a step up over its predecessor. There's a full-fledged campaign with a narrative that's much easier to follow, explaining the IMC/Militia war on what is known as the "Frontier" (life away from Earth as humans push to populate and reap the resources of other planets) and the intricacies of Pilots and their Titans. Overall I find the narrative to be a solidEverything about Titanfall 2 is a step up over its predecessor. There's a full-fledged campaign with a narrative that's much easier to follow, explaining the IMC/Militia war on what is known as the "Frontier" (life away from Earth as humans push to populate and reap the resources of other planets) and the intricacies of Pilots and their Titans. Overall I find the narrative to be a solid selling point of the game, though at least in its early-goings could use a little polish. The overarching theme feels a bit like Pacific Rim but doesn't always land the intimacy that the many facets of the story are aiming at. That's not to say that it's bad, or even just so-so - I found it to be pretty engaging (I hadn't expected a whole lot from this side of the game). A lot of the crew making this game are remnants of the team(s) involved with Modern Warfare and Modern Warfare 2, so the quality that's there is of no real surprise. However, while the campaign is the new blood to the series in its still-infancy, the multiplayer continues to be the most honed of the game. Though Black Ops 3, Halo 5 and Advanced Warfare have taken their stabs at improved mobility in the midst of fast-paced combat. There's a few obvious additions to multiplayer: more weapons, new abilities, new Titans, new maps... mostly expected of a sequel. But what's really special is how these additional elements are tastefully added to the already-competent mix to help further motivate a game that's big of movement, strategy, and big-metal combat to broaden its horizons without deviating from its roots. You'll find that Titanfall 2 firmly entrenches itself as the new behemoth on the block, challenging Call of Duty, Halo, and even the fantastic Battlefield series by being more imaginative than the competition. Lastly, you'll find the environments in Titanfall 2 to have considerably more detail. It's mostly nuanced, but level design is noticeably improved over the first game. Lighting effects sometimes catch your eye and nearly pull you out of whatever moment you find yourself in, only to be snapped back sharply when a couple transformer-looking mechs come steaming through, forcing you to strategically proceed or get the heck out of dodge. Titanfall 2 does a lot to be better than its foundation-setting predecessor - converting missed opportunities into good ideas, not trying to be everything to everyone but simultaneously taking into consideration fan feedback to begin to hone what I think is going to be called the best shooter of 2016. If you loved Titanfall already, you're just going to love Titanfall 2 more. If you were on the fence before or just couldn't fully embrace Titanfall for the long-run, this game could seriously change your mind. Only those with a great distaste for this genre of video games will walk away without any feeling of satisfaction. Expand

Because of this mindset, I wasn't overly interested in picking up Titanfall 2, despite seeing the positive reviews pouring in. Eventually I caved and thought I'd give it a go. Titanfall 2 is essentially the game I wanted the original to be - the gameplay is much more focused, it's addictive and the campaign itself has a bigger emphasis on quality rather than quantity. The campaign isn't much more than 5-6 hours but it's great fun and the level design is fantastic. The actual story is rather generic, but it gives us a great excuse to run around and cause a good bit of chaos.

The multiplayer is fantastic, well-balanced and very responsive. The devs appear to have addressed most of the issues from the beta and it's a much better experience for it.

For someone who was initially apprehensive about playing this, I can only highly recommend buying Titanfall 2 now.

The customization for both pilot and titan seem endless between camo and paint jobs for titans pilots and weapons, quite a step up from the first where they were all kind of plain. On top of all that Respawn has announced before that all future dlc will be free...Cna you imagine that back to the good old days before having to pay for content that was originally on the disc. This game is well worth the money I plan on having more that 1000 hours in to this as I did before like its predecessor. Expand

    Feeling a bit dated
Titanfall 2 is the debut of this series to PlayStation and with this debut comes with an added 6 hour campaign…
And this campaign is far greater than I had any hopes of it being in some cases, while in others really letting me down...
Starting with the good, the gameplay and story here does an awesome job of pulling you towards the credits..
Very early on you become the pilot of a titan named BT and as you play through the story you slowly create a bond with this machine that quickly feels like a living breathing creature…
The banter between you as the pilot and your titan during dialog choices was a highlight for me and had me cracking up as he’s trying to understand human emotion, or comprehend expressions taking them literally…
The campaign has you switching back and forth between being on foot and being in your titan,
And both are so fun and feel so great, but there’s far more focus on being a grounded foot soldier than a titan pilot in this campaign…
Luckily, being on ground can be just as fun as piloting your titan.. wall running and shooting through enemies is a blast, and there are so many cool moments in the campaign that are genuine surprises, and really cool twists the gameplay, there is a decent mix of intrigue, first person shooter, and platforming elements here… Mech fighting is even more fun, and as you progress through the story you unlock new loadouts for your titan all with their own shields, rockets, blasters, and core attacks, so you’re guaranteed to find at least 1 you love that fits your playstyle...
Titan combat can feel much more frustrating though as you don’t have the luxury of health regenerating like you do while on foot..
You have to collect batteries around the combat area or from enemy titans... Which can lead to some pretty frustrating boss battles... but none that ever feel unfair…
Just take much more patience than the first person shooter, platforming sections of the game...
    Now onto the bad..
Gameplay is definitely king, but its 2016 and while Titanfall 2 is fun enough to be ultimately forgiven… it’s nowhere near ambitious enough to look or run the way it does…
I’m not one to usually talk about graphics, but the textures in this game are noticeably awful…
The game really looks bad, its ugly throughout and isn’t helped by the constant dull grey color pallet I thought we got past in 2010, clearly not.. Its back and honestly does take the enjoyment out of the overall experience…
It hardly lives up to the standard of FPS graphics of 5 years ago let alone today...
I want to stop in a game, look around and be awed,
here I stopped, looked around and wondered why this ps4 game looks like a mid-cycle ps3 game… which brings me to the loads…
I can’t remember the last time I saw a load screen between checkpoints in a modern game….
    Well they’re here…. And again I really don’t understand why…
The game isn’t pushing the limits on anything to warrant anything but seamless transitions
I also ran into a game breaking bug in one of the final missions where a team mate fell through the map, and wouldn’t come back even after reloading the checkpoint, causing me to have to restart the chapter from the very beginning to proceed…
Thankfully this wasn’t too annoying and is the only bug I ran into…
And while multiplayer returns, this is my first time experiencing it, and honestly I wasn’t all too blown away…
I had fun, but running around and getting kills to call in my titan around some basic and ugly grey maps wasn’t all too exciting…
There are really no game modes here to make you think outside of the box and strategize like any great multiplayer would…
Its either get kills and bank.. Every mech or pilot for themselves... pilot vs pilot, titan vs titan and the typical capture and hold or capture the flag modes but with tanks..
Though I did personally enjoy titan vs titan the most, as I feel it comes closest to being anything but mindless…
Everything about multiplayer though for the most part feels average, and the battles between the titans isn’t as epic as you would expect and it isn’t as terrifying as you’d expect seeing 1 as just a pilot…
All in all Titanfall 2 is still a fun game, but the overall package is just average…
Lacking a bit of polish and feeling like its already 5 years old...
The star of the show here is hands down the single player and the greatly realized bond between man and titan.
    I give titanfall 2
    a 7.5/10

In the last 2 years, this remedy has been copied multiple times and I feel as though other critics of the game don't keep in mind that Respawn Entertainment almost invented the system in MP games. For this reason, it would be stupid of my part to make the game loose any points *wink* *wink*. This game runs flawlessly on console at 60 FPS even with huge maps. Originally when the Pre-Alpha was out, I was telling myself that the aesthetic wasn't Titanfall-like at all, but I changed my mind since it fits with the concepts of both games. The singleplayer is done right for an FPS: it lightly criticizes capitalism and industrialism which I truly appreciate, I've heard multiple people say that the game feels like Half-Life to the soul: you have to do everything by yourself. The multiplayer, although power-ups aren't very balanced, is amazingly addictive... Because of it I'll be playing this game for years to come. The only real criticisms to this game is the missing black market and burn cards that I loved so much from the first game. Expand

MP, which is where I expected to be playing hours and hours is poorly presented (your progress feels random and tacked on, rather than having visible targets to strive for) and the map design is very poor.

As with the single player, the levels don't promote the use of the mechanics anywhere near how the original did and with a lack of briefing to each one, and very poor signposting within them, it's hard to find the reward in co-operative team play, they just lack soul. They're sprawling and indistinct, with discoverable pathways nigh on none existent. Slip-lining? Forget it. Reward for getting your titan? Nope.

None of the MP maps play to the games strengths (movement, shooting and free running) and map boundaries are indistinct.

Overall the components are there but it feels overly produced and doesn't have enough substance to take it forwards, free dlc or not. Everything that made the original such an outstanding achievement has been muddied here. I've read the headline press reviews now that I've completed it twice and they're obviously playing a different game to me, I bought my XBOX ONE for Titanfall having played the beta.

I'm in the EU and the matchmaking is very patchy at the moment and time between games very long too. Thanks but no thanks, I'll get my MP kicks from the odd hour of Destiny and look for something else (but not COD or BF, which this now feels like, thanks marketing).

While I liked the first one, praising it's slick multiplayer gameplay and the innovation of Respawn Entertainment, the team behind the development of Call of Duty: Modern Warfare and Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2, I was severely disappointed, as were most, by the absence of a single player campaign, massive lack of content, and lack of diverse customization. While Titanfall 2 brings a single player campaign into the mix and a more diverse set of game modes and maps to play on, the game doesn't quite bring the level or depth of customization that there previous title Modern Warfare 2 had! The game takes a few steps forward in the right direction, but also stays in a lot of the same places it did with the original Titanfall game.

The campaign is what I was most hyped for with this installment. I am a huge fan of the campaigns of the first two Modern Warfare games (I really hated the third games campaign), which is filled with awesome, memorable moments such as the Nuke, All Ghillied Up, Shepard's Betrayal and Death, Wolverines, and more! The campaigns had surprises and moments that truly caught the player off guard. They had emotional weight. Unfortunately, Respawn fails to bring that level of emotional depth into the first ever true Titanfall campaign! The story is very run-of-the-mill. You play as a pilot in training, Jack Cooper, who finds himself stuck behind enemy territory with his instructors titan, and must get back to the Militia Forces before it is too late. There are no surprising moments in this game, no moments that stuck out to me, the soundtrack isn't memorable at all. the characters are decent at best, and while the voice acting is good for the most part, I didn't feel attached to any of them! The villains are especially cliche and cartoonish! The first villain you meet, Kane, acts like his either drunk or insane before you get into a one-on-two boss battle with him. I really thought this would be the story that launched Titanfall towards greatness! It doesn't come close! I will say however, that the previous Titanfall's campaign (If you can even call it that) was much worse, and the gameplay is very slick! The graphics are really good, although I've noticed some textures were blurred, and the level design is alright. I personally think the previous Titanfall looked much better! I do like the diversity of guns this time around, but, as I've said already, there is a lack of customization options for all of them. You are limited to 1 or 2 sights a weapon, even in multiplayer, and that's unforunate. The campaign is a 5/10 Mediocre! I know Respawn can do much better because they have done much better with Modern Warfare.

The multiplayer of Titanfall is slick, the gameplay is really good, the graphics look tight, and the game functions as well as I'd expect. There hasn't been a ton of lag spikes or latency issues as far as I have played, and that's great! Personally, I do not like the new weapon customization system: Instead of have "Extended Mags" or "Stocks" or "Grips," you get weapon perks such as "Fast Reload" or "Shoot while sprinting" and that is very disappointing. I loved Modern Warfare 2's customization system! You could pimp out your rifle with all sorts of sights and attachments, but in this game they abandoned that system! They have added new weapons from each category, and new abilities that work really well with the game, but despite all the included features, I found that I liked the original Titanfall's multiplayer a lot more! Perhaps it's because Multiplayer was the ONLY focus of that title so more resources were put into it. Not to say that this Titanfall's multiplayer isn't smooth! It is smooth like butter in fact! I just feel like Titanfall 1 did the multiplayer bet, for the most part. That said, Titanfall 2's multiplayer isn't bad! You have a more diverse set of titan's this time around. They can run a lot faster, and are a lot more fun to use than the slow as hell titan's from the first game! I like that there aren't any microtransactions! I had predicted EA to implement micro DLCs into this game, but they didn't, which is commendable. That said, I was disappointed with the multiplayer! I found myself going back to the first Titanfall and playing that multiplayer instead, which is saying a lot! I do enjoy the new Titanfall's multiplayer for the most part, but it feels like a step forward and two and a half steps back from the first game. They changed things that didn't need to be changed, we wanted more and they gave us more, but customization is still lacking! 6/10!

This isn't the Titanfall I was hoping would launch the franchise to new heights. Hopefully the third installment can do that. Respawn needs to make a groundbreaking campaign for the next Titanfall, filled with awesome moments and surprises. We need more customization in multiplayer! Please do this Respawn and you'll have yourselves a damn good game!

The maps are uninspired and convoluted they geared the game for players with weak hand eye coordination. They destroyed some of the best and most fun interfacing with the titans. Pilots are too weak and you die to easily, so are the titans. They made the NPC's super lethal!!!! They force you to choose titan classes and they have embedded attributes that cannot change. They for some reason got rid of the rodeo and replaced it with a disappointing experience snatching batteries and dropping grenades. Why would they get rid of titan shields? Also now when your doomed you don't have a timer going off giving players the appearance of a second wind when in reality a titan can execute you immediately or anti titan weapons will immediately kill you. You can now shoot from cloaking and immediately return to cloak as long as timer doesn't run out. Which only means they are catering to new players. They got rid of tertiary weapons!!!!! Which means you have to choose between either carrying a secondary weapon or a anti titan weapon!!!!!! What the hell!!!! Choosing between a secondary weapon and anti titan weapon is like asking which leg do I use the least! Sticking to walls is now a ability that needs to be unlocked, absolutely ruining the parkour experience! Ammo and grenades are infinite which remove the tactical criticality of having limited resources!!!!! They brought back the cursed smart pistol what the f@&$$! They made the XO9 titan machine gun less accurate! Some pilot classes look outright stupid. Yes they gave a campaign with cool features no spoilers, but they gutted the heart and soil from the original. I was platinum 3 once upon a time. In conclusion, they focused too much on making players play together. You can no longer carry your team. Or be the decisive character on the battlefield. I like to liken this sequel to a basketball analogy: you ever play a game and there is a guy who gets the ball and just does too much with it and when it's time to score he chokes. Well that is TF2. I wanted to like it, I was predisposed to like it and I just can't it's an alien game. The developers catered too much to the noobs!!!! The graphics are the same or worse than TF. It takes to long to recover from damage. All they needed to do was give us TF experience back more maps, weapons, and a storyline and it would of been out the park!!! Instead they delivered a stillborn. No way does the remaining TF community will be satisfied with this offspring! Expand

Worthless tacked on campaign, it's boring, lifeless and incredibly repetitive. Multiplayer is painfully similar to Call of Duty Advanced Warfare, they've even made mechs far weaker and the pilots movement slower and more clunky meaning it feels far more like CoD than the first game did.

Waste of money and an absolute regret buying this.

The multiplayer is still very much Titanfall, but many significant tweaks make it feel even better to play. There's less AI running around, mobility is increased with more options in the environment, and there are new ways to customize your titan to your liking. There's also a healthy dose of new modes to choose from, fixing one of the few complaints people had with the original.

The balance is still impeccable. You've got massive titans, AI controlled enemies, and the player controlled pilots all running around in the same match. The fact that you always have some way to defend yourself and combat any opponent is impressive. It all feels incredibly fair and you always have the tools you need to survive.

Of course, not everything is perfect. If the multiplayer has one issue it would have to be the match epilogues. During these epilogues the losing team has to wait for a dropship to arrive and then try to get on it. The winning team has to try and stop them. The issue is that the winning team has kind of an unfair advantage in this area. Considering that they don't have to wait for the ship to arrive, they can just camp around and pick you off while you try to get on. No which team you're on you don't respawn when you die. You just get to watch the rest of the match play out. Something that can be frustrating considering you may have to wait a while if you get killed early on. The whole epilogue concept is interesting, but a tad frustrating. Even with all of the time I put into this and the first Titanfall, actually escaping on the dropship is something I've only managed to pull off once.

One of the main issues people had with the first Titanfall was the lack of a campaign. When I first heard that Respawn Entertainment was going to include one this time around I was a little worried. Not only did the first Titanfall not actually need a campaign, but I was concerned that they might just phone in the campaign just to say that they had one and to satisfy those who complained. I am very happy to say that wasn't what happened at all.

Respawn Entertainment pulled out all of the stops for their single-player offering. Everything that makes Titanfall's multiplayer unique is found in the campaign. You get to interact with your own titan, make use of the game's excellent platforming mechanics, and gain access to some exciting tools that make for some incredibly memorable moments. There are so many inventive scenarios and the whole thing is brimming with personality. The story falls a bit short, but the gameplay is so well done and the experience is much more than your average FPS that it's easy to forgive it's few faults like predictable AI and the occasional frustrating boss battle.

Titanfall 2 does a lot to push this new series forward. The result is a much better game that grew in the areas it needed to. A few minor annoyances and faults from the first are still present, but they ultimately don't mean much in the grand scheme of things. Titanfall 2 has some of the best multiplayer on the market right now, and probably the best single-player FPS offering of 2016. Clearly Respawn Entertainment went all out and poured everything they had into this. The results paid off wonderfully and gave us multiplayer and single-player experiences that, while not perfect, really shouldn't be missed.

I had high hopes for Titanfall 2. But Respawn took a giant leap back. Instead of delivering something fresh, Respawn gave us a COD wannabe. T2 feels more like a COD game than Infinite Warfare. Respawn didn’t fix what was broken, and severely broke things that never needed fixing.

There are a few things T2 gets right, like dedicated servers. Unlike COD, T2 runs on dedi’s 24/7. Gamers underestimate their importance, which is why Activision hasn’t made them mandatory for its golden child. T2 runs incredibly well and noticeably better than the original. Frame rates remain consistently high and annoying screen tearing has vanished. Hit detection is as good as ever.

Free DLC!! That's right, new T2 maps will be free. This means the community won't be fragmented by paywalls for future content. That's a big deal.

And yes, T2 has a campaign. It’s OK. I don’t understand the importance of campaigns in multiplayer-focused games since the majority of players don’t touch them and the rest only play once. Unfortunately, resources had to be taken off the multiplayer to develop the campaign. And it shows.

That’s where the positives end. Respawn made inexplicable changes which not only hampers T2, but make it less distinguishable from its COD counterpart.

Foremost are the maps. They’ve been dramatically shrunk down. T2 now features “lanes” similar to Black Ops 2. Vertically is nearly gone, so most players either camp rooftops or run along the ground. Sound familiar? The shrunken maps force titans into clusters. Friendly titans can box each other into a single lane while blocking friendly attacks. Most titan battles end up as claustrophobic messes devoid of strategy.
In T2, most game modes lack grunts. One of Titanfall’s defining traits is its use of cannon fodder to amp up matches. Although there are plenty of gamers who don’t like grunts, plenty of Titanfall fans loved it. The huge maps were playgrounds of constant action. Verbal cues from grunts indicate if pilot/titans are nearby. Spectres could be hacked to become allies. Cloaked pilots would give away their position when engaging grunts. Instead of offering this, Respawn shrunk the maps and removed the action. Maps have plenty of dead ends and hiding spots. Without grunts, T2 is campy and less action-packed.

Customization did not improve in T2. Burn cards are gone. Instead, players can equip “boosts”, abilities that must be unlocked. Map hack is especially annoying. Take a guess at what that does… Even worse, players cannot carry a side arm if they equip an anti titan weapon. So if I grab a mag launcher, I must give up my pistol. Lame. Grenades can be used infinitely since they recharge after use, which further encourages campy playstyles.

Guns are similar to the original with the exception additional attachments. And like the original, nearly every player runs with assault rifles or smg’s. There’s no reason to equip other weapons because they’re laughably ineffective. Insanely quick TTK’s exasperate gun imbalances. Many pilot battles happen in narrow corridors where acrobatics have limited use. Most battles are over before they ever started.

Titan customization is nonexistent. There are 6 titans that can be slightly tweaked, but their primary abilities and weapons are locked. Classes are completely unbalanced. Legion is an absurdly powerful titan with an auto-aim ability. Respawn loves auto-aim and can’t seem to part with it. Legion versus the Scorch and Northstar titans is a nonstarter. Legion will wreck them both. Of course, Legion has to be unlocked. So newbies will get owned. Titan classes will make T2 harder to patch. Instead of patching abilities individually, Respawn must patch entire classes.

Titans ought to have specific roles. Poor map design hinders those roles. Ideally, players must constantly switch titans to be most effective. But it’s hard to be effective when titans that are only effective on certain maps get wrecked by titans that do well on most maps. Scorch is a great example of a powerful titan restricted by appalling map design. Eventually players will run the same titans.

I had high hopes for T2, but Respawn proves it won’t deviate far from its COD roots. I was puzzled why it changed the formula so much. The answer is simple: Respawn wants Titanfall to be popular, even if that means axing originality. In some ways, Titanfall 2 isn’t as good as its predecessor, but it will be more popular. Why? Because other than the titans, T2 feels like COD. Players I’ve spoken with make that comparison. What a shame. Respawn trashed its own formula to offer more of the same. Unfortunately, gamers seem content with that. And we wonder why game development has stagnated. Respawn needs to stop playing it safe. T2 isn't a bad game, but it lacks that "something" which the makes the original special.

I loved the solo campaign, riveting, fluid and engaging it was a breath of fresh air against your standard 1st person solo campaigns but let's be honest, titanfall 1 was all about the multiplayer and most of us are in titanfall for the pvp experience and this is where my review takes a turn for the worse.

I loved titanfall 1, played an excessive amount of the game and was genuinely good at it, titanfall 2 took a unique pvp model of titanfall 1 which punished camping and gave players freedom to roam and feel like badasses and allowed excellent customisation of the pilots and titans to suit your needs (albeit the smart pistol was op) and with this excellent foundation they managed to completely break it, what they have created is a multiplayer based around movement in which you cannot move because the hit scan and dps system shreds anyone that explores or leaves cover, maybe this is more accurate to what would happen but it isn't what titanfall is about, who wants to play a futuristic sci fi game that relies on group camping to cover large open areas of map followed by group camping with a team of titans once they are up. Allowing titans to heal and limiting their custimisation was a mistake and in the end I found myself having no vested interest in whether we won or lost any of our matches because having fun with the game wasn't the way to win.

I was super excited about this game then horribly disappointed by the end result, ended up returning the game at the end of the return period.

I will start this off by saying that most people that fell in love with the first Titanfall will probably not like the changes to this game! At first I was one of those people. At first I was one of those people. Titanfall one is one of my favorite FPS games ever. I was completely disapointed that they changed as much as they did. Then I started to playing Titanfall 2 and once i got use to the new gameplay I fell in love again! There is a lot more to unlock which means nothing to me but i know a lot of people had problems with how little there was in the first game. the game play feels the same and different at the same time which i like a lot. running around the map as a pilot is still fun ass is piloting your titan. each titan plays different and has there own strengths. im sure as the game progresses most people will end up mainly using the same titan, like every one uses the same gun in COD.
The slight down side to this game is the maps fell a little small and tight when in your titan. It is very easy to die because as you battling an enemy a team mate blocks you in and you can not escape. the only other thing i can think of as a negative is for some reason people seem to camp a lot more. when i play attrition i find most people on roof tops shooting down at you or on the grownd hiding in a window. very few seem to be taking advantaged of the parkour system. i am not sure why this is haping but it can become very frustrating.
when its all sade and done i love this game and i feel like most that did not play or like the first Titanfall will to. the ones that love the first game may be so but heart about the changes that they dont give it a chance; but if you are one of those people i urge you to give it time to grow on you. if your but pain can fade there is a great game here that is a lot of fun

You can't relax and play it you have to really try hard just to break even. I heard it was skill based matchmaking yet every game i've played has been difficult which means it's obviously putting me in games with more higher skilled players. Shame really as i really enjoyed the beta but it just feels far too competitive and fast for my liking since it's been released. I have put a lot of time into this game so far but I give up with it now. I'll look forward to the stats coming out where my K/D comes out below a 1, then i can prove the fact that this 'skill based' matchmaking is completely messed up. I have had a lot of fun in the online of Titanfall 2. The campaign isn't something for me, but it's titans are really fun to play with. My favorite part is the fast-paced multiplayer modes. My favorite is Bounty Hunt, you kill robots for money are deliver it to banks. But, the private server options are bs.

Titanfall 2 is without a doubt the greatest first-person shooter title I’ve yet to play on the current generation of consoles. And that’s truly saying something, because there have been some spectacular gems along the way these past few years. My reasons for this lofty accolade are many and yet they all tie in to some of the same facts and opinions as well. For example, one thing that Titanfall 2 does that few other games save for perhaps the Battlefield series have yet to match or come close to, is offer a stunning degree of customization in the multiplayer client. I’m constantly surprised- not just by the amount of camouflage or titan chassis and colors or items offered, but by the entirety of the package provided with the base game devoid of microtransactions in terms of what is already available to players through simple unlocks.

Granted, if you want to pay a dollar or five here and there, you can unlock neat special chassis and camo patterns and packs, but even at the base level without these minimal transactions there is so much available to players. Another thing that is surprisingly done quite well is the leveling and unlocks system. In the first game there didn’t seem to be too much available upon leveling up one of fifty times or making it through another generation and essentially hitting the “prestige” level and restarting. In Titanfall 2 this has been remedied by the addition of golden tickets of sorts that are called merits. Instead of hitting a specific experience cap, you gain x amount of merits per level, per weapon, per perk/feat, per titan, etc etc. All of these combine in your after action review of a match and go towards your overall level and unlocks- of which there are many, many, many things to unlock and discover (whether that be weapons, attachments, camouflages, perks/feats, etc).

Moving away from the multiplayer content for a moment, let’s discuss the equally interesting and exciting single player mode. Yes- this Titanfall title actually offers one and doesn’t skimp by adding in radio bursts of exposition and story to campaign labeled multiplayer matches. I really enjoyed fleshing out some of the characters from the first Titanfall in a standalone story of Titanfall 2’s own creation. The single player does a good job of gradually introducing mechanics and attributes of the multiplayer content through loadouts for titans and weapon pickups for pilots- essentially operating as an interactive and fully immersive tutorial. The story is in some ways cliche for the shooter environment and yet in many others it is truly interesting for all the ways it explores the relationship between man and machine. I won’t ruin any of the spectacular moments the short campaign offers, but I will say it boasts impressive mechanics, some original ideas here and there, and plenty of tight shooting, platforming, and even interesting Singularity/Portal-esque mechanics.

I came into Titanfall 2 wondering how they were going to improve upon the interesting foundation laid by the original title and I came out of my first few hours with the game totally blown away. It’s no mere matter of adding a single player campaign or perhaps adding a few additional titan classes to the mix. Titanfall 2 has completely changed a lot of things around without losing the allure of the original experience or sacrificing anything that couldn’t be built newer or better. The community is thriving so far and the developers are constantly providing reasons for us to play the game- from daily rewards and bonuses to dropping free map packs and additional content every few months like they did with the original game as well. In an industry dominated by microtransactions and paid content, Respawn and Titanfall 2 have made an excellent environment and case for providing what the players want free of major additional charges. Yes, even they aren’t perfect, but it’s much better than $20 a pop for Call of Duty maps and constant barrages of new weapons to pay to win with.

I don’t even think my glowing words can necessarily do the game itself the justice it deserves, but I’ll let the near 90% in average reviews and ratings do the talking for me. If I had to gauge the game appropriately on my own scale, I’d probably give it a 9.5/10 and that’s quite rare for me considering most titles I review typically fall within the 7.5-8.5 range on the spectrum. I’ve honestly enjoyed every single element of the game, even with the few flaws it has, and even considering the fact that most multiplayer game modes operate virtually the same with slight modifications. That’s truly a testament to how exciting and exhilarating the overall experience is.

The only thing I can complain about is I still feel like I dont have enough character/Titan customization and the took the LMG/autocannon (very first titan weapon) out of MP and replaced ot with the Minigun/vulcan cannone (which I absolutly love!). Feel liie making the titans have a personality, thereby restricting them to a specific gun is dumb. I really wanted to choose my titan the choose my gun, like in TF1.

The single player campaign may be short, but it is enjoyable breath of fresh air amongst all the other fps campaigns. The gameplay does a good job of making you feel like a Spartan of the TF's universe, a super-agile parkouring death machine that is showcased in the opening cinematic.

Multiplayer is also plenty of fun, the only problem I had with it was that shotguns aren't as effective as in TF1 due to more open and less 'cluttered' maps (though I haven't tried the Mastiff shotgun yet). Titan gameplay without shields does make it harder to keep them alive, however it means every shot that hits won't be wasted when your opponent goes behind a building. This changes up your strategy as a titan, and it also makes the Pilot's anti-titan weapons much more viable. Also the 6 Titan classes are like six siege's Operators, each offering diverse gameplay experiences.

Titanfall 2 does many things right: a fun game, free map dlc, no microtransactions that affect gameplay, a highly polished product with barely any bugs. Unfortunately not a lot of people are buying it.

It was fun in some places, but it had too much of the stuff that I am bad at: Jumping puzzles, verticality, and "whack a mole" boss fights where they magically jump out of the way when you aim at them. I gave it a 4 because they at least tried to give it a story. I quit after dying more than 20 times in the "Viper" boss fight on easy mode.

Make no mistake: TF2 IS better than TF1. It has an enjoyable campaign with impressive platforming elements (if you were frustrated by Mirror's Edge, try TF2). Bounty Hunter is a very smart mode requiring both skill, tactics and strategy.
But the campaign is short and with many characters I WANT to forget (BT, the titan, is good fun. Everything else is totally nonsensical and poorly acted). There's no coop. Even the modes with PvE elements will be too tough on rookies. The result is that 6 months after the game came out we already have issues with matchmaking - which creates a vicious circle in which new players will have trouble entering into the game and the player counts will dwindle fast.
In the end we have a good core suffering from some weird choices & the fact that the company just doesn't have the budget to compete with the behemoths of the genre. A 7.5

    Campaign
I went into the campaign purely to get a feel for the game/controls before I played some MP, so I'm not the noob using electric smoke instead of dropping a shield. What I got instead was a beautiful campaign with the perfect flow, story, and mechanics that had me coming back for more playthroughs, simply because it was that much fun. (Seriously the phase shifting was awesome!) Not only do you get to try each type of Titan load out, but you also get a few more that appeared in the original game. The levels can go from storming walls with enemy Titians dropping every minute, to narrow quarters that put your 1v1 Titan skills to the test (initially). The cenimatics were long enough to tell the story and short enough to help you avoid mashing A to skip.

    Multiplayer
With all kinds of game modes that force you to change your tactics, the games rarely seem repetitious. I've played games where we got murder and had a blast, I've played games where we locked down hardpoints and won by a mere 5 points. As a pilot you get a variety of choices when it comes to abilities. All are beneficial can effect your playing style. The guns are all great. It's pretty rare that you get killed by a weapon and think. "I need to try that one next time" but TF2 definitely delivered that to me. The Titans all have a well balanced mechanics, from fast to slow, to ranged and close, to sniper. It keeps the game play honest and fresh as you experiment with the best Titan/Pilot load out to best fit your needs.

I give this game a solid 10 out of 10 and can't wait for DLC. TF2 is a modern day classic.

Apart from being exceptionally fun, EA listened to its fans and gave us more content and value as well as removing the season pass from Titanfall 1. As for the overall gameplay, it's even more fun and polished than the first one. Wallrunning still feels great and they gave us many more abilities and weapons to use. However, I was curious to see how the wallrunning and titan gameplay would work in a campaign mode. I was completely surprised, as it is one of the best campaign modes I've played in a while, and it is the best part of this game. The missions, while mostly linear, never feel boring or repetitive. There is much more than just running and shooting. You strategically use your cloak and wallrunning abilities to evade enemies and get the drop on them, which is really important when you're playing on hard or master. And to break up the gunplay sections, they include some extremely well designed and innovative quick timing and jumping puzzles as well as time travel mechanics. The two missions that stand out to me are Effect and Cause, where you have the ability to work your way through a facility by jumping back and forth between timelines, which is important because there might be a door shut or a fire blocking your way in one timeline, forcing you to quickly jump to the other. Switching timelines is seamless and can be done with the click of a single button. I don't want to spoil too much of the level. The other mission has you navigating through a facility making prefabricated homes. Precise timing and wallrunning is essential here, and there is often more than one way to reach the next objective. Things are not always clear to you and you have to work it out for yourself. The game ends with an awesome chase sequence where you are jumping from ship to ship with your titan. It's all in first person, so these moments can give you make you tense up a little. As for the story, it's nothing amazing, but it is certainly entertaining. The relationship between you and your titan is well done. He never feels too much like a human, or too much like an uncaring robot. You can choose your dialogue, and he'll take your comment extremely literally like a robot should, and then later, he'll crack a sarcastic joke and it just throws you off a little and helps you feel more attached to him. Overall, there is never a dull moment in the campaign. However, it is quite short. I beat it in about five hours, and it is a little too easy on normal. I actually played it again on master and it took me about 7-8 hours that time. I recommend playing it on at least hard. Multiplayer, while extremely fun, is not quite perfect. They do include a ton of new weapons, modifications, abilities, whole new titans, and skins for your pilot, guns, and titan. That is much appreciated. The maps are designed well just like the last game. Pilots can stay competitive against titans if they know how to traverse the map. However, they did make changes that I wasn't happy with. Titans in this game feel incredibly weak. They die extremely quickly compared to the last game. If you're playing attrition and you're on a **** team, the match can be a nightmare. The entire enemy team will be in a titan because your teammates don't want to help you do damage to them. When you eventually call in your titan, you can get surrounded and killed within a matter of seconds, even when you're using a titan that has max health like scorch or legion. It can be extremely annoying. I don't like how they made titans weaker. A good titan player in the first game had the ability to take on multiple titans at a time if he used his abilities well. Now, it seems much harder to do that, unless the enemy has no idea what they're doing. They took away burn cards, which I wasn't too upset about, but they replaced it with a special ability with a long cooldown. It's not a bad thing, it's just not as unique as burn cards were. As with titans, you can no longer customize a titan loadout, but you select from a wide range of premade titans with unique abilities. These titans are all fun and different in their own way, so I didn't miss the option to customize too much, especially since I'm sure they were trying to balance them. 1v1 titan matchups are as fun as ever, and if you're outnumbered you can use a new "core" ability that can nearly wipe out an enemy titan. Overall with multiplayer, if you like fun fast gameplay but also playing smart and strategic, you will love the multiplayer here. I hope this game eventually gets more sales, because it deserves it. Absolutely amazing. Titanfall 1 was the game that got me TRULY into first person shooters, and due to it being such a fresh introduction to a new series of games, it was well praised, but sadly short lived. However, even with the lack of content, I still played it, day after day until I basically became ready to join the ESL at 13 with that game. So much fun to play, and I was praying to god that they would come out with a sequel. Not only did they come out with a sequel, but they came out and said that yes they've listened to all of the communities' requests, and IMPLEMENTED them into the game. No more player-splitting season pass, FREE FREAKING DLC, MORE WEAPONS AND TITANS, an AWESOME single player campaign, ( Jack: "Get the ark out of here!" "What are you doing?!?!" BT: "Protocol 3, in a badass voice: I will not lose another pilot!") albeit being a little too short, (they can make it longer for the third game) and excellent balance between the weapons for pilots. Although there are some issues, and I'll quickly go over them. 1: There are some titans that are just insanely powerful right now, and could use nerfs, Tone and Leigion. Not saying you can't beat them, it's just that they're the absolute top dawgs (heh heh) when it comes to one on one titan fights, which will happen a lot of the time. I don't want to go over exactly what they should do to nerf them, (you'll see why once you fight them) but their pick rates are so high compared to the others, (not saying that all the other titans aren't viable, all of them can dominate with practice) that I feel like maybe they could use some touching up. Also, Northstar could use a small buff, although not too much, because she is a good class, but people on PC say she sucks compared to the others. I play on Xbox 1, but they could be right, so hopefully that'll come out. Also, they got rid of Burn Cards which totally sucks, and replaced it with a more simple boost system that kinda acts like it, but not really, and I wish that wouldn't have been the case. Other than those small complaints though, I'm pretty sure Respawn will take care of it, and I'm sure I will play this game for years. I'll also hope to join the ESL Xbox 1 Pro Leagues for this game too, if there will be any! Would love that! PLEASE buy this game! Expand

The campaign of this game is a gem, but I like the CODs campaigns, so it's easy for me to have fun with this one.
About the Multiplayer, I think there have few improvements between this and the old Titanfall, but I have to say that the maps on this one are really, really bad in comparison with the original.

It's a good game in overall, but the maps on the MP have to get better

After listening to their fans about the problems of the first one, they decided to add a campaign in this sequel. Maybe the campaign isn´t very long but it is very entertaining and fun, specially if you play it in the hardest difficulty. It starts a little bit slow but it's full of action and some sequences of platforming that are very epic in the design level. Also there are some boss fights but they aren't that hard, with the exception of the final boss. Maybe it isnt the best campaign but at least you should give it a chance because in my opinion it is one of the best campaigns of the fps that focus on multiplayer.

I haven´t played that much time in the multiplayer but for the 10 hours that I've played it, it has been a nice improvement in the gameplay mecanics in comparisson to the first game. Also the titan types that they have introduced are very helpful to add a lot of variety.

If you're looking for a FPS that combines fast paced action in maps bigger than cod but smaller than battlefield and the adition of mechs, don't think it twice and buy this underrated gem for the FPS genre.

The evolution from the first game to this is remarkable in every way! The campaign is spectacular, a gift to FPS fans; The multiplayer follows a more frantic pattern than the first game, such as varied modes and more weapons. Anyway: Titanfall 2 is a must-to-play!

This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. I know there are a lot of people out there who only play multiplayer in shooter games, but if your one of those people and you have this game, your missing out. I have around 50 hours in the first Titanfall and out of personal opinion I enjoyed the game but I could tell why it has flaws and why others wouldn't like it. Do not let the first game fool you, this is a large improvement over the first game, the campaign somehow made me ever shed a tear after the ending because of the emotional connection I made with BT and now has me waiting for another but it may be best if just left discontinued. I know that there's other games out right now and this game is caught in the mix of them and I really hope it gets the attention it deserves. I think this game will go on sale frequently so if your a bit skeptical just wait a while, I played in on Xbox but regardless of console or hardware, the experience is amazing throughout all systems. I give it a thumbs up. Expand

To be honest, I was quite skeptical on getting this game at first. After seeing the trailers and being impressed by some gameplay for titanfall 2, I decided to go ahead and buy it. One of the best gaming decisions I've ever made. This game has what so many recent shooters and different FPS's have had in a while, the feeling of having fun playing a FULL game. The story blew my mind on how fun and immersive it is. The enemies, while standard bots, do present a challenge and the boss battles make it all the more better. The context and relationship between pilot cooper and BT is great, truly shows the feelings a pilot can have with his titan companion with great interactions between them with dialog and combat. This the most fun I've had with a campaign since halo 4 and you know its good when you want to come back and play it again without getting bored. Regarding the multiplayer, MUCH better than the first titanfall. While there isn't as much game modes as the first one, all of the new or continuing ones are great and fun to play objective wise, or just taking out the bots and enemy player like I do. Still great faced paced action but very well balanced including the taking away of shields on the titans and the titan loadouts which make it much more fair yet create the challenge to see what titan to use in what scenario (I find all the titans great in their own way). A new mode that I really appreciate is coliseum, in which it's a one on one deathmatch with a launcher and an ion laser (out of three rounds). While simple, I find that to be very competitive and challenging yet fun to test wits with. Overall I cant praise this game enough to any gamer who wants a fun and engaging game both campaign and multiplayer wise. This game gave me that feeling from first playing games like Halo 3 and Modern Warfare 2 and 3 again and I hope everyone else who purchases it gets that feeling too. Expand

Note: this review is strictly for the campaign.

Playing through this campaign is a truly incredible and memorable experience. The story is well-told (if a bit cliche). The dialogue between the two main characters (Jack Cooper and BT) works well, and although the choices you make do not have any effect on the story, they do provide your pilot and Titan with some enjoyable banter.

Gameplay feels polished to near-perfection. For example; the pilot wall-running is an easy skill to learn but is difficult to master, although some of the challenges later in the campaign really push you to learn to do it well. Fortunately the game is very forgiving and wants you to succeed, so you'll be past most platforming puzzles long before they can begin to get frustrating.

The pacing in the first few missions is a bit slower with longer gaps in the action, but towards the end it's nearly non-stop. The clever variation of platforming, shooting, and problem-solving means you won't get bored of grinding through the same action over and over.

I found that this campaign feels like playing through a really good action movie. It tells an uncomplicated story and has some emotional highs and lows, but it's really just all about having fun.

The jet-assisted parkour feels like what Mirror's Edge should have been and crossed with the maneuverability of the heroes on Attack On Titan.

My only complaints were that the ending cinematic was a bit short when you consider all the crap you just went through, and one particular flying boss was stupidly hard to fight due to the slowness of combat.

Cons: In multiplayer there are a lot of people who lag and it throws you off quite a bit. Rarely, but still possible, there are a few crashes.

Cons: In multiplayer there are a lot of people who lag and it throws you off quite a bit.

Rarely, but still possible, there are a few crashes. There should be more maps in

multiplayer and the maps they do have don’t connect with the game except for the map

    called Complex.

The creators of Titanfall 2 are a company called Respawn with association to EA

Sports. The console I play on is Xbox 1, the game runs very well with it. It is a first

person shooter with many other characters to play as. The game itself is one of my

favorite games to play. It almost never gets boring. To buy the game new for Xbox it’s

about $59.99 same with PS4. The game is amazing you should try it.

I got the game as a present for Christmas and what I found out was that it’s a

little too easy to level up, and that you also play against G10.49’s(which is the highest

level you can be) and other high level people. Which in some cases might not be super

good. But playing with the good guys only makes you better, so that can be good or

bad, if you like things easy. Each game lasts 10 mins or sometimes you join a game

that already started. Titan-fall 2 has about 12 different game modes. The most played

game mode is Attrition or Mix-tape. Attrition is literally team death-match and Mix-tape is

just a bunch of other game modes, but it will choose a random game that is in it’s

database and will join you on any of the game modes.

My experiences with the game are pretty good, only a few times I get a little mad

when I die, but those are human errors not the game. When I got the game for

Christmas The first thing I did was play the Campaign, which I thought was good. The

setting is on a planet called Typhon and time wise the whole story took place within 18

hours. The main criminals are these bounty hunters. They are working for this big company called the IMC. The IMC takes land from the 9th Militia and destroys it. Your mission is to stop the IMC from using a super weapon on the planet Harmony. You are accompanied by a Titan named BT-7274. That's the basic knowledge you need to know for the game. I would recommend this game for people who like to play Call of Duty, Battlefield, and Destiny. This game is not good for kids under the age of 9 because it shows parts where people get blown to pieces and heads shot off. They may not be so happy about the game when that happens.

Titanfall 2 is a fun game. Even though it has a short campaign, I had a great time playing it. Multiplayer is fun thanks to the game’s amazing gameplay, but lack of balancing and awkward level design make it a forgettable experience. I can easily say that Titanfall 2 is a good game, but its lack of depth will ensure I won’t be visiting it again anytime soon.

As a sequel, Titanfall 2 is everything it was supposed to be. By extension, that means it isn’t a game changer; it isn’t as inventive or surprising as its predecessor, but then again, it couldn’t be. Titanfall changed the trajectory of the FPS in a powerful and immediate way, and that success isn’t to be simply re-created but iterated upon dutifully. Despite Respawn’s best efforts, the game’s obvious advancements and its spectacular engagement across multiplayer, Titanfall 2 doesn’t offer the same determined focus and balance that defined its predecessor.
