    I really enjoyed what the presentation side of the game had to offer because I love retro themes and both the visuals and sound design contain that. The controls that have been implemented have been done to perfection remaining tight and responsive throughout your time with the game. There’s a nice amount of depth present in the gameplay and the twin-stick shooting elements have been done well which makes the game stay fun for longer. No game ever feels or plays out the same way and the variety of weapons you can use means the game has quite a lot of replayabilty. While there is a decent selection of weapons available to you there is a lack of variety present in the enemies you can use these weapons on. It can get a little too difficult at times so expect to get quite frustrated every now and then. There isn’t much that stands out when it comes to the level design which does impact on your overall experience a little. I wasn't prepares to battle against zombie vegetables (Revenge of ththe Beefsteak Tomatoes comes to mind on Atari 2600 ha ha) but that’s exactly what you have to contend with when playing The Walking Vegetables: Radical Edition. As you can imagine then this game is very over the top and unlike any other game you’ve played before and this in my opinion works in this game’s favor. At it’s core then the gameplay focuses on twin-stick shooting elements and I’m pleased to say that these elements have been done really well with very tight and responsive controls thrown in for good measure as well. There are also a decent amount of weapons for you to use along the way as well and they all feel like they pack a punch. Unfortunately though the enemies you have to face don’t have the same amount of variety as the weapons and the high difficulty curve can make defeating them a little tedious every now and then. This however didn’t stop me from returning back to the game time and time again and this is a good thing because there is a decent amount of content for you to get to grips with. At the end of the day then if you’re looking for a retro and silly looking game that has plenty of fun and enjoyable moments then you’ll thoroughly enjoy what The Walking Vegetables: Radical Edition brings to the table even if it does contain a few imperfections.     This game is so underrated, has gone completely under the radar for many. If you're a fan of retro and twin stick, you're gonna enjoy like a muthafuka.

    This is a decent title that doesn't take itself too seriously. It’s not an epic saga, but it’s a nice little diversion and it’s worth a play.

    A fantastic 80’s aesthetic, combined with a great retrosynth makes for a radical experience that I just love soaking in. I’m ashamed to admit that I almost dismissed this game initially from first glance, but I’m very glad I got to experience it. While the grind is quite an arduous undertaking, it also means that there’s quite a lengthy amount of gameplay to be had. The Walking Vegetables: Radical Edition really is one in a melon and salad as a rock.

    I have no hesitation in giving The Walking Vegetables: Radical Edition on Xbox One a thumbs up. An old skool challenge, a cool neon vibe and the chance to shoot fruit and veg in the face, is always appreciated.
