The otterman empire is a very simple game to get accustomed to. The campaign was a serious letdown due to the fact that it was basically a rehash each and every level with just different skins on each level. And as long as you can control the aiming you really cant lose the game. There is no limit to lives and it's hard to actually die. The graphics and mobility reminds me of plants vs zombies 2. So the game was pretty fun when it comes a laid back game. I am unhappy with the campaign but the multiplayer was pretty fun it was definately straight forward for what you would expect on a vs mode. Overall for what you pay it's not too bad. Buy for kids wanting to play a semi challenging game that is kid friendly and easy to get a grip on this is the game for you. Maybe check it out on when it's on sale on the Xbox store. Expand

A colourful third person party shooter with adorable aquatic characters, Otterman Empire is rough around the edges with a tutorial that does more harm than good. The single player and co-op game play flits between fun and pedestrian while the Versus mode might as well be the games saving grace. A decent multiplayer mode that’ll have you laughing at a party or with family, it’s the best part of Otterman Empire by a long way. It’s just a shame that a lot of small issues sour the rest of the experience.

I came away from my time with The Otterman Empire feeling very little at all. Despite some good looking character designs and multiplayer ideas, there’s a distinct lack of atmosphere or excitement to the whole affair. Vague, tricky to decipher mode mechanics lead to confusing opening rounds, the shooting feels inaccurate and unresponsive and despite the dev’s best intentions, I just don’t feel it’ll be sticking around many people’s gaming night playlists for very long.

The Otterman Empire on Xbox One does not offer a particularly good experience. It draws inspiration from Splatoon, a shooter that could do with an Xbox equivalent, and ruins most of the good faith you might afford it. The general gameplay is clunky, unresponsive, glitchy, and just downright infuriating.
