I’m a big fan of mystery themed games, but I must admit that I’ve found the genre to have grown stale over recent years and that’s mainly down to most of the games in the genre having pretty much the same ideas. Thankfully The Invisible Hours doesn’t follow the usual formula and without a doubt there unique approach makes the game stand out for all the right reasons. For me the mostI’m a big fan of mystery themed games, but I must admit that I’ve found the genre to have grown stale over recent years and that’s mainly down to most of the games in the genre having pretty much the same ideas. Thankfully The Invisible Hours doesn’t follow the usual formula and without a doubt there unique approach makes the game stand out for all the right reasons. For me the most important thing of a game of this ilk is the story and thankfully the story in this game is absolutely brilliant. From the moment I started playing it the story hooked me straight away and it stayed like that the whole way through. There are plenty of twists and turns throughout your journey through the game and the characters play a massive part of keeping you invested at all times. Each character plays an important role in the game and you can tell that each character has had a lot of thought and effort placed into them, which in turn means you get quite attached to the characters. By doing this it means the game has quite a lot of replayability present and I really enjoyed playing through the story multiple times. They keep things fresh through multiple playthroughs by adding a certain amount of secrets and not once did I feel myself getting bored, which is very rare in a game like this. You will however bump into a few technichal issues along the way, but thankfully none of these issues are game-breaking and I was easily able to look past them. Unfortunately the game won’t be for everybody and if you’re not a fan of solving mysteries then this game probably won’t be for you, but I can however see the game gathering a few more fans for the genre. The main reason why I think it may get new fans is because of the uniqueness of the gameplay. The gameplay allows you to be in control of all events and this amount of freedom means you can go about things the way you want to, which is great. Another thing that stands out for me with this game is the presentation side of things. Visually the game looks pretty decent and when you combine them with the excellent sound design it ends up delivering an even more immersive experience. At the end of the day The Invisible Hours has made me fall in love with this specific genre again. They have managed to bring in fresh ideas and this shows throughout your entire time with the game and even the small problems it has doesn’t stop you from enjoying your adventure. Fans of mysteries will absolutely adore this game and it’s that good that I’d even recommend it to people who aren’t fully invested in the mystery genre because everything about the game is dripping with love and effort.… Expand
