    Fun game, nice aesthetics, and cool environments, very nice to explore. Combat could be better, and character graphic are a bit off.

    The game is very good, it's a pretty nice pick specially if you get it on Gamepass. I enjoyed it very much, cool story and awesome aesthetics.

    Ok a bunch of Russians are giving this low scores for not having a localization. This is childish reason to rate a game so low. This game is a fun short (I beat it in around 5 hours I think) and kind of wholesome experience (the relationship between the two characters is sweet) that is worth the price of a month of game pass.

    Overall the game is if you put a lawnmower simulator and    Ok a bunch of Russians are giving this low scores for not having a localization. This is childish reason to rate a game so low.     Overall the game is if you put a lawnmower simulator and added a good (not great), beautiful art direction and fire OST. If you watch the trailer that is the gameplay, there are some puzzle elements that should have been expanded but overall you are going to be happy with the difficulty.

    The world you are on is beautiful, which plays well with the titular Gunk consuming everything. The OST strikes a great balance of ethereal bliss of the world, and the suspense of what the evil of the gunk is.

    The problems are in its simplicity, nothing really negative but the environmental puzzles are really easy, I don't need the witness level difficulty but with a lack of variety in tools you won't have any difficulty in solving them, which is a little bad imo. Also twice I was soft-locked where you cannot advance until you clear out all the gunk in the area and it wouldn't register. The Autosave is really good so it wasn't crippling.

    Overall this is easily worth the 4-5 hours to beat, especially if you have game pass.    … Expand

    Game is good. Short and sweet. Simple and bit relaxing. Can be better (mainly the exploration part) but decent nevertheless.

    Also, people are giving it 0 because Russian language is not there. So, that means they did not play the game because of language issues. Then, what are they reviewing?

    I can't play this without localization to my native language (Russian). I don’t understand Microsoft’s attitude towards the Russian market, why there are so many indies in Game Pass, even without the Russian language.

Una bonita aventura que nos llevará a un planeta extraterrestre en la piel de dos chatarreras espaciales, Rani y Becks, que están hasta el cuello de deudas, en busca del golpe de suerte que les permita abandonar el vivir al día y llegar a ser inmensamente ricas. Un día mientras vagan por el espacio, en su nave hipotecada, detectan un pico de energía inusual yThe Gunk es un buen juego. Una bonita aventura que nos llevará a un planeta extraterrestre en la piel de dos chatarreras espaciales, Rani y Becks, que están hasta el cuello de deudas, en busca del golpe de suerte que les permita abandonar el vivir al día y llegar a ser inmensamente ricas. Un día mientras vagan por el espacio, en su nave hipotecada, detectan un pico de energía inusual y deciden que ese puede ser el golpe de suerte que estaban esperando, por lo que aterrizan en un planeta desierto y aparentemente muerto, lleno de lo que ellas llaman Gunk; una masa informe de un fluido con muy mala pinta que lo invade todo. Descubren que si lo aspiran con una de las herramientas de Rani, la vegetación y lo que hay en el alcance del fluido se recupera, incluida lo que parece una potente fuente de energía que las puede sacar de pobres. A partir de aquí, dirigiremos a Rani en la investigación y exploración del planeta, en busca de esa fuente de energía, descubriendo que el planeta no está tan muerto como parece, utilizando su guante especial a modo de herramienta multiusos y arma para avanzar.

    En lo jugable The Gunk es un sencillo juego de exploración y plataformas, de desarrollo lineal, con resolución de puzzles, que bebe directamente de los juegos clásicos de este estilo. A veces puede recordarnos a los Zelda en 3d y por el diseño de mapas y de niveles, también vagamente a los Metroid Prime. Es un juego, como decimos, sencillo, no se recrea en dificultad, ya que lo que pretende es que descubramos la historia, nos recreemos en la belleza del planeta y de este modo ayudemos con nuestros actos a recuperarlo. Nuestra partida nos ha durado algo más 6 horas, jugando tranquilamente, por lo que es un juego más bien corto. Perfecto para alquilarlo y terminarlo en un fin de semana.

    Pese a lo bonito y bien pensado que está tiene algún fallo. Hubo un par de ocasiones que se me bugueó y tuve que cargar el punto de control anterior. El tema es que la mecánica de aspiración del Gunk es esencial para avanzar, es decir, si en una estancia no lo aspiras todo el escenario no se regenera y no se te abre el camino. El problema surge cuando el juego no detecta que no queda más Gunk por aspirar y te deja dando vueltas buscando una migaja invisible de la sustancia que puede haberse quedado oculta entre dos piedras y tenerte un buen rato buscando a lo tonto. Debido a esto le quito al juego un punto, pero ya digo que no es algo que te rompa la partida, no está bien, pero se le perdona. Por lo demás es un juego muy recomendable, con una aventura y una historia muy bonita y que puede ser disfrutada por todos los públicos.    … Expand

    Junk game. Couldn’t finish it. End boss fight is so horribly designed that it just wasn’t worth the time doing. This kind of game makes Gamepass feel cheap sometimes. Wouldn’t recommend anyone waste their time on something so poorly designed. Zero.

    This is a decent game, a fun clean em up, (think Luigi's Mansion but in space!) it's a little linear and short, but it's still long enough (about 5-6 hours) to keep you occupied, and if you have GamePass, then it's a no risk game that's well worth trying.

    Great graphics and art style, nice music and simple story but the game play was very, very satisfying.
    I did not expect so great experience from this game : started at the evening and finished next day at night (or in the morning - depending on how you look at).

    The Gunk's placid approach would make it an ideal game for kids, yet the presence of a few ill-suited swear words nixes that notion. Regardless, cleaning up the Gunk and restoring the planet to life still provides a satisfying loop, and there's something to be said for a game that doesn't demand too much of the player. It's fairly laid back and relaxing at times, but even at three hours in length, The Gunk's unambitious and routine design struggles to sustain an entire game. The endearing relationship between its two leads makes up for this somewhat, but you're left feeling like they deserve something more than what is an inoffensive and rather forgettable game.

    The Gunk is a creative, witty, and charming adventure game, albeit a bit on the short side at only five or six hours in length. Still, the writing, world, and exploration more than make up for the short campaign as players will find themselves immediately immersed in the world and Rani and Becks’ friendship. Unfortunately, a few technical problems plague the game, the most blatant of which – getting stuck on various items – becomes frustrating in later platforming sections. Still, The Gunk is an adventure well worth partaking in.

    Players can move through each area cleaning up Gunk, defeating the Gunk creatures, and exploring to gather resources and discover secrets. Along with traveling across the planet, Rani will also run into a few combat encounters. She can use Pumpkin to grab and throw enemies or damage vulnerable spots on them. Battles are far and few between, but they still help to break up exploration enough that the game doesn't get boring. The Gunk offers players a fun experience with consistently entertaining gameplay.
