    "The Assignment" is the first half of a two-part DLC episode. It focuses on the backstory of Juli Kidman and how she came to be in "The Evil Within". Surprisingly, there are no guns or shootouts. This is an entirely stealth based adventure featuring intense encounters with new enemies. There are also scattered collectibles to find and optional puzzles to solve. The whole thing lasts about"The Assignment" is the first half of a two-part DLC episode. It focuses on the backstory of Juli Kidman and how she came to be in "The Evil Within". Surprisingly, there are no guns or shootouts. This is an entirely stealth based adventure featuring intense encounters with new enemies. There are also scattered collectibles to find and optional puzzles to solve. The whole thing lasts about three and a half hours. Overall, it's a nice change of pace from the main game with its survival horror feel. To some players, it will recall the Ada Wong adventure "Separate Ways".     With a more interesting lead character, tighter pacing, and better scares, The Assignment is that rare story add-on that may even be better than the main game.

    This first DLC as Juli Kidman focuses on atmosphere and puzzles... and it is quite frightening! The gameplay mechanics are interesting too, but the game still suffers some AI and technical issues.
