I quite liked the first Culling but in the end the game just had too many shortcomings so I didn’t return back to the game as much as II quite liked the first Culling but in the end the game just had too many shortcomings so I didn’t return back to the game as much as I would’ve liked. That being said I did still sink quite a few hours into the game and that was mainly because it had quite a unique feel to it so it wasn’t all bad. In a way then I was kinda looking forward to The Culling 2, but I must admit that I was surprised that The Culling was getting a sequel so quickly and it definitely came out of the blue. Unfortunately The Culling 2 disappointed me quite a lot because even though the first game had quite a few problems it still had some unique things about it, but that sadly isn’t the case when it comes to The Culling 2. From start to finish you’ll notice the game’s shortcomings quite considerably and in the end that’s all you remember. This is a shame because when the game gets into full flow the gunplay is actually pretty fun and there are a decent amount of weapons for you to use. This fun however doesn’t last very long and you start to notice that there aren’t any improvements over the original game. Instead what you’re left with is a game that has more problems and that’s evident from the amount of technichal issues the game suffers with. Another problem is at the moment there just isn’t much of a player base so getting into a game with just one or two people can be a really dull affair. If the player base picks up then I can definitely see the game becoming a little more enjoyable because the different perks in the game make each game feel unique which in turn will give you a reason to return back to the game. Something that I really liked about the first game was the melee combat so I was interested to see how it would be implemented into The Culling 2. Unfortunately though it hasn’t been implemented very well at all and instead the melee combat feels like an afterthought. The movement of your character doesn’t help in terms of the melee combat as well because every movement you make just feels clunky and awkward. I’ve also seen a few people say that the presentation side of the game looks and feels awkward, but that’s not the case for me because even though it’s far from being perfect I actually enjoyed both the visuals and sound design. At the end of the day as far as sequels are concerned I’ve no doubt that The Culling 2 will disappoint many because the bad things about the game definitely outweigh the good and unfortunately as it stands at the moment I can’t really recommend The Culling 2 to anybody at all.
