Take control of new states, secure forts and railways to increase your resources, and lead reinforcements sent over from Europe. Discover or relive the experience of the original game "The Bluecoats: North and South", in single or two-player mode, with this updated version featuring redesigned gameplay.. Well the plan is good here yet did the developers achieved good victory on gaming market? So basically it's on or two player turn-based strategy game but my question is what makes you different in this genre among millions other one. Well the answer is quite obvious nothing. When you create a famous and very popular tittle during these days you got to have something that separates you from the others. They just can't keep expecting giving us the same games maybe polished a little than us saying "yeeey". 'm also not big fan of this kind of war games because the word of war mostly two sided so while some enjoy this game other's might thing otherwise. I can't really dive you any deeper in this game it's just like copy from it's own genre. While it may be very same-same to me from the genre it Is most definitely one to pick up if youra fan of the gene, and if not you can move on. Expand

A nifty little graphic update to this classic game, with a few twists.
The map play and the army battle play are exactly the same as the original.
However, the side-scrolling segments (fort capture and train robbery) are both FPSes now. You and a team of bots battle against a group of enemy soldiers, bound by a time limit. On the train robbery, you win by getting to the locomotive. On

However, the side-scrolling segments (fort capture and train robbery) are both FPSes now. You and a team of bots battle against a group of enemy soldiers, bound by a time limit. On the train robbery, you win by getting to the locomotive. On the base assault/defense, you win by eradicating the opponent force.

I feel the FPS update is a fresher take on the side scrolling segments, which became very tedious. Other than that, it's the exact same as the classic -- gameplay, screens, text, etc.

The main carp I have is same as in the original: the game is too short. With such a cramped overworld map, a handful of battles will pretty much resolve the whole affair in around 10 minutes of play.

So if you're looking for some hardcore RTS/Strategy campaign, this may not be for you. But if you want some goofy, punchy fun and an extremely light strategy game, this one is definitely worth checking out.

In addition to being limited to a single map, the game suffers from too much repetitiveness and a dire lack of content.
