As a snapshot of games in the ‘80s The Bard’s Tale Trilogy on Xbox One is a great example, with enough work gone into the remaster to keep them fresh without losing their initial charm.

Inclusive of every iconic moment, unravel the story that leads up to The Mages Tale, and The Bard's Tale IV: Barrows Deep. Create your adventuring party, and keep playing the same party through all three games! The work that went into this remaster is beautiful, with Tales of the Unknown, The Destiny Knight, and Thief of Fate all in place. Re-imaging of each original frame, adds new flare and keeps the original feeling and charm of the game. The remastered audio puts you right into the scene. Old School RPG fans rejoice, as one of the Godfathers of the genre is available in it's completion on your Xbox One. A few features were also added to make your experience more enjoyable even for newer players. The auto-mapping will save you on the graph paper, and the in game manual, and bestiary will help keep you informed. If you'd like to experience the game at it's original difficulty, without the helpful features, look to the Legacy Mode for a more authentic feel. If you haven't experienced this timeless classic RPG, there has never been a better time to snatch the entire original collection for yourself. Always top of it's class The Bards Tale is one of the best true RPG experiences you could have! Full Review »
