Supermarket Shriek's difficulty curve does a good job of easing you in gently and it never became too overbearing. I didn’t know anything at all about Supermarket Shriek before its E3 surprise release on the Xbox One and it’s very rare to be surprised in the world of gaming these days. Supermarket Shriek is definitely unique, and if you play the game in short sessions you’ll find this shopping kart racer to offer you a lot of fun and enjoyment for what it does have to offer. Thankfully, frustration doesn’t play a big part of your adventure because it does a very good job of keeping things simple to understand and control and it also features a difficulty curve that progresses nicely though it does get challenging on occasion it never becomes overbearing which in turn makes you want to continue to play. Supermarket Shriek's content has a solid amount for you to play through and there’s enough variety within this content to keep things fresh and interesting, despite the usual bit of grinding. In terms of problems the disappointing co-op and the occasional repetitiveness that sometimes can occur there's not too much more wrong with the game. Supermarket Shriek never takes itself too seriously and it does what it sets out to do very well and that is to deliver fun and enjoyment during your time with it. A fun game for the price of admission. Expand

Supermarket Shriek tries to introduce a brilliant idea to its core gameplay, but eventually fails to deliver as the gameplay gets too repetitive.

Not quite the GOAT, perhaps, but definitely very entertaining in multiplayer. [Issue#181, p.77]

One of the weirdest concepts for a videogame I have ever seen, but it somehow works. While the later levels can get infuriatingly challenging compared to the earlier ones, Supermarket Shriek has a great selection of game modes, a hilarious visual style, and excellent level design that had me consistently applauding the developer.
