    This first person shooter was a lovely surprise for me. Controls were tight, visually this game appealed to the retro gamer in me and easy achievements is always a bonus. If you need a game that is just fun without the pressure of mind bending difficulties this is it.

    Super Destronaut: Land Wars feels like a love letter to the game it so inspires to be, but loses everything that made it well-loved in translation. The concept is solid, but fails to ever reach the heights to create an addictive gameplay loop.

This game features 2 game modes, in challenges you have 30 different tasks to complete and you are ranked Gold, Silver, Bronze or No Ranking depending on how quickly you complete each one. In "Arcade Modes" you can either play Classic mode or a selection of 4 handicap modes, 2 in your favor or 2 in the enemies favor. Visually the game is bright and in your face (though in a good retro way) as you run and gun your way through a block based maze, shooting at space invader-ish style foes, shattering them to pieces to collect coin to upgrade yourself and your guns, be quick though, these pesky critter don't stop because your shopping and will try blast you while you try buy that shiny new shotgun. Gameplay wise this is easy to just pick up and play and feels satisfying to just blast those retro baddies with a laser gun. Without much of a learning curve anyone can pick this up easily enough but will take some practice to get good in the harder modes and with plenty of content to keep you busy for quite a while. Highly recommend for any fps gamer looking for a bit of a casual game to play or any fans of games with a retro vibe.… Full Review »
