    Simplistic in design I really enjoyed what the both the visuals and sound design had to offer because they did a good job of bringing the story to life. The story is short and sweet and it did a wonderful job of stirring up a number of different emotions which made me think about the game after I completed it.

    There’s a decent variety of mini-games available for you to play and these mini-games tie in with the story extremely well. The gameplay doesn’t have a ton of depth to it I think they’ve done a great job of making it accessible to gamers of all ages. In terms of content the game doesn’t have much at all and you’ll no doubt complete this game very quickly. There’s no freedom to explore throughout your time with the game. As I mentioned earlier the gameplay doesn’t have much depth to it at all and while the game is a short play it can still get a little boring. I’ve read Storm Boy many times and I’ve heard nothing but good things about it from people who have also read it and that’s fantastic in my opinion because when it comes to children’s books Colin Thiele’s masterpiece is up there with the very best. I did then have quite a bit of interest in the game and whilst it’s not as good as the story it still does a wonderful job of connecting with you. Obviously the main way it connects with you is down to the game’s fantastic story and without a doubt it had me and my children eager to see what happened next. Another way the game connects with you is thanks to its minamilist yet very effective visuals and sound design and I must admit that I was pretty impressed with both of these aspects. In terms of gameplay the game doesn’t have much and it doesn’t have much in terms of content either so it will be over pretty quick, which is a shame. A little bit more freedom would’ve been nice as well but I understand why they kept it linear because that means the gameplay is accessible to gamers of all ages. At the end of the day then even though Storm Boy has a few shortcomings It still gets more things right than it gets wrong and if you’re a fan of the story then I fully recommend that you give the game a go as well.    … Expand

    Storm Boy je tak špatnou hrou, že jsem musel sáhnout k nejnižšímu hodnocení, jaké jsem snad kdy dal. Snažil jsem se najít něco pozitivního, ale v nudných minihrách a ultra krátké herní době to ani nešlo. Tuhle záležitost rozhodně nekupujete, to už bude větší zábava házet peníze do kanálu.

    I'm glad I bought this on sale and only for the achievements as that's really the only good thing I can say about it. You can get the full 1000 in less than 30 minutes. The game itself is a pathetic excuse for a game, it's walk right a bit, read some words, do a terrible mini game, do it again a few times, have a predictable ending, 20 mins later, game done.     I gave this 2/10, 1 point for the quite pretty graphics and the other point for the easy gamerscore. Apparently it's based off a kids book... If that helps you in anyway.    … Expand

    Calling Storm Boy interactive, while technically true, is a massive stretch here, almost as if it needed that definition to be allowed on the store. If you are in the market for a new tale to share with your little ones, you’d be better served picking up a copy of the book. The soundtrack is pleasant, the visuals have a charm to them, and the truncated story is sweet, but it’s all over in the blink of an eye.

    While I cant claim to be the intended audience, at the price of $5.99/£4.99, it’s still a tricky one to recommend, mainly due to the largest issues that stem from the underdeveloped story and short overall length.
