This game annoys me because I don't like to loose survivors due to my own negligence, I need those people. I don't like taking risks, yet that is exactly the only way to get out of there. You advance, build your base and try to find a way to survive and get out. I've seen a few minor glitches, the occasional limb showing through a wall but no game stopper and nothing serious. The only thing I found a bit disappointing was the fact that they actually seem to have cleaned out the graphics sabotage completely. Not even a small one escaped them. Expand

It's just disappointing that this is no 'Remastered Edition' - besides the small improvements here and there, it's essentially the same experience, the same buggy experience.

I would recommend it to die hard fans alone. It's a really great game if you can get past all the bugs! They're not game breaking but it's hard to stomach on XBOX ONE for goodness sake!!

I don't understand how a person can ding a game for being a port of a 360 version when you KNEW going in that's what it was. Great makeover to a great game. The replay value alone makes the 20$ purchase worth it. Being a fan of the 360 version it does all the things I enjoyed of the first only polished over.

I have been looking forward to State of Decay coming to Xbox One ever since I first played it on my home computer. If you are a zombie fan, a GTA V fan, or just love playing sandbox free roam titles you owe it to yourself to pick this little Gem up! The fact that it is only $30 is an amazing deal! After playing it on my Xbox One for a few hours I can say that the graphics are a lot crisper, the gameplay and frame rate are a heck of a lot smoother, and even the lighting seemed improved (the pc version was kind of dark to me)! What is so great about this game is that you aren't just killing zombies, you are saving people, creating a community, managing items, building bases, scavenging for supplies, and doing quests! This is one of those games that sucks you in and you want to keep playing it! In fact, I think I will get back to it! Expand

The graphic overhaul wasnt impressive but thats my only complaint. I really enjoyed the first game and this is no different. It was originally a Xbox Arcade title and still feels like one on the Xbox One so dont complain about minor graphic issues or glitches. Its done a wonderful job of blending lots of elements together and I look forward to a State of Decay 2.... WITH MULTIPLAYER.

I said if this game wasn't so riddled with bugs and glitches, if the framerate wouldn't slow down to a crawl every time you did anything like run or drive I would change my review. Looks like I got my wish. I didn't care too much for the graphics, they weren't good but I don't care too much about graphics. Visual performance however is a completely different story. This game on the 360 ran terribly and would constantly crash.

That, along with many other issues have been fixed. But you ask "well I already played it on 360, why bother play it again?" and to that I say... uhm I dunno. They have added a lot of new things, if you're someone who could play this game through again, they certainly give you a reason to do so. Does it warrant another purchase though? I'd say yes, but get it now while it's on discount. Returning players of State of Decay from the 360 will be given a 33% discount. Making the entire bundle; State of Decay: Year One - Survival Edition: Day One which includes all DLC Lifeline and Breakdown + an add-on pack. All for the low low price of 20 bucks. Not bad.

New missions, new designs, new textures and some new weapons. All on a much better visual performance and it definitely has better graphics... if you care about that sort of thing. If you enjoyed it on 360, you'll like it even better on Xbox One. Question is, are you interested enough to buy it again? I said yes and I'm happy with my decision, it's the fun sandbox zombie survival game I've come to love even more. When you aren't focused on how bad the framerate is, how many times your game crashes, how the textures don't pop in till much later and why the hell your car is crashing into nothing... the game truly shines at what it wants to provide. Addictive zombie bashin sandbox survival game. I haven't had any of the performance problems on the 360 aside from a few seconds of lag from the autosave feature.

--F A C T --Xbox haters are reviewing negatively outta immature & pathetic homerism for they're Japanese console,,,,I own BOTH cause I'm a gamer, not a make believe employee of one over the other,,
---THIS GAME IS A VERY FUN GAME--I'll break down why,,,,
--my grammar and typos should be proof I don't work for any company that promotes anything,,,I just enjoyed this game AND I WAS SOOOOO OFFENDED AT THE REVIEW SCORE..I've yet to meet anyone who didn't like this game.....
---PS4 users,,,play it on PC.. It's a fun game,,.dont deprive yourself of good games over make believe loyalty that is silly....

---I played this on the 360 & enjoyed it and got bored of it like all games..B U T that just means the game was playable..

~~This game is solo gaming at its absolute best..
--if a game is addicting that means it's G O O D..and this game has me still wrapped. I'm glad I digital downloaded instead of disc. It's always there..
---concept of huge this open world.
--after a week you will learn the full map and it's a monster circle with a highway going around it and roads and fRmland in the middle,,none of the space is 'dead-space' and it's all got loot and stuff..but you will learn the map and how to get somewhere fast..
---people need help similar to Dead Rising-1. And when the timer expires and you didn't help them or didn't make it in time then they either die, lose trust points or just a blown opportunity..
---the whole system is based on a influence score. Actually number is a better word because every time you complete a mission or kill a zombie hoard, or deliver supplies you get "influence-points" every time you remove inventory you lose whatever said item is worth..you will emmediately get a good score going and when you're inventory gets full(very late game) you use neighbors inventory box to drop you're unwanted stuff for the return on influence points..
---pistols and scoped guns are loads of fun with the associated perks. Like a slowdown type relex..
-there's weapon strength and then there's line 15 most popular/common ammo like the crappy 556 and .22 and 9mm... But you'll eventually get enough .45,,,,357,,,and 762,,and the amazing .50
-but even the cheesy .22 kills all zombies if it's a head shot from close enough..
--guns are loud and you're silencer is is either on or off and there's 3 or 4 kinds like and the better the silencer the more shots it's silent for., think 10,,30,,and 50...
---no silencer means you better have a car close by and get ready to be swarmed soon. Unless youre prepared to handle em...

---melee hand to hand is this games bread &a butter,
--you can pick blunt, blades, or heavy 2handed weapons.. BLUNT is easily #1 but that's opinion..
---and you have 4 or 5 skills that level up as you use them Oblivion/Skyrim style,,

-all skills are stars and it's 1-7 stars
    -cardio--running
-wits- is when you search loot. A search bar time activates.
    -fighting --Melee
    -shooting-duh
--powerhouse-if you're character is lucky enough to have this random stat/perk, they can carry 4 items that stack in a inventory slot instead of 3 = H U G E and they are efficient with heavy weapons,,
--and the last skills Re stuff like medicine, exercise, cooking or whatever special stat random survivors possess...these skills are mandatory to make upgrades to you're base..
--example---All bases you'll have(1 at a time) will have a clinic. But someone proficient in medicine allows it to be upgrDed to infirmary, which speeds everything up And adds mess to you're inventory and bonuses to characters important stat like stamina and health,,.and you'll need a library to build/upgrade you're infirmary even further, and to research you're library you'll need so & so and this is what makes the solo aspect soooo addicting and fun....

--every skill you fill up offers you a choice between two skills per skill...
Like Cardio will offer you a choice between a bad ass roundhouse kick,my or a sweep kick..and that's EXCLUSIVE TO say blunt or edged weapon(I forget)
--then the other weapon set will offer you decapitation or triple sprinting speed blah blah blah....

The graphics are beautiful now,,,there is no negative to this game except it gets boring eventually like every other game does...

---xboxOne version is everything the 360 had, and added to it. And detracted NOTHING,,

When you buy a remastered game on PS4 you get at least enhanced graphics, bug fixed etc. you get someting more compared to the original version, but with undead labs, nooooooooooo, 2 years was to short to fix bugs reported since 2 years, to short to give some interest to the missions of this generic and boring zombie games, wtf did they do during all this time? Well, the contrast between main story line and open world side quests provide a wide verity of things to do to keep ones self busy. The game mechanics are complementary to a young gamer trying to achieve a full synopsis of the zombie apocalypse. The only down side to this game is the inadequate amount of construction materials when they are a imperative aspect of the game.

A texture patch(arguably even noticeable at that) sold as a whole new game for full price, in stead of free for those who owned the game already or at least sold as an upgrade option.

A fast cash grab from money hungry ****

The Original game is great tho, and this is the same exact game, so it is great as well, however one should not support such anti-consumer practices.

Is it perfect, not a chance, is it fun and consuming, completely! Here is a great way to justify your purchase. If you are looking for a totally polished triple A zombie destroying fast paced apocalypse style game, turn away. SODYOSE is great at what it does, and for the price, it's a very good option to choose when you want to consume a large portion of your life into finding survival gear, building shelters and forts, improving your communities strengths and weaknesses in fighting, medical, and more. Current owners of the original can purchase this title for less than the cost of the 2 DLC's realeased on 360 ($21) which I never played, so for me, it's a win win! It comes off as more of a real life sim (though zombies and this situation would never be real life) by improving characters survivability skills the more you use them in different situations. Ultimately you must constantly switch between characters due to fatigue and possible infections. Fatigue can often be controlled by increasing your stamina skill, or when it begins to drop a bit, drink an energy drink.
Searching for resources is very rewarding, and you don't always want to engage the zombies due to weapon frailty. Weapons are fun to collect and most characters will have specific strengths like blunts, (not the kind you smoke) sharps, and firearms. Instant kills with stealth are very gratifying and a good way to avoid the hordes. I only played this for about 4 hours the night it came out, but considering my experience with the original and based off what i experienced, this will for sure be money well spent, and a lot of missed hours of sleep at night. The one thing this game is missing and would benefit greatly from is online co-op. Sad they did not include it, but it is still a killer single player game. Graphically, it is an arcade title, but a good one at that. There are still the occasional "through the wall" limbs you can see, and minor glitches, but nothing game changing. I highly recommend this title and hope people can see the good in what games are trying to do rather than looking for mistakes and problems, trust me, games are more enjoyable that way.

I actually was thinking while I played "I sure wish they did this just as pure survival and made it harder" not realizing that was EXACTLY what the Breakdown mode was LOL. I almost didn't play the Breakdown mode because I saw that the reviews for that (from 360) were kind of low. Well, those reviews were WRONG (in my opinion of course).

Breakdown mode is where this game became fun for me. Basically taking the base game and making it a pure survival experience, and increasing the difficulty and giving you objectives to complete in order to unlock new survivors. Once you get several levels in the game gets to a perfect level of difficulty.

However, I think there was some variety that was lacking that finally got me weary of continuing. If they somehow incorporated the Diablo/Borderlands methods of constantly throwing out increasingly difficult and randomly varying enemies, along with maybe a few additional survival systems, then this game would be much better and I'd still be playing. But I'm done now as it did eventually get very samey.

The zombie spawn mechanic and wow is this ever still awful, so they made it happen more often and closer, Iv had them spawn right on me many times, the original mechanic was garbage because there was zero consistency and they have made it worse.

About that, having zombies just pop in is garbage; there are reasonable ways to arcade this crap mechanic without a head shot that results in a swarm warping in.

They retained all the crap where base members just go missing or head out sick, and yes it still makes no sense that you cant control them, (in a remastered version), modding that out made it less annoying.

those were my biggest 2 large beefs with the original, and they got worse in this one, I didnt need to explore the game further to see this was the same game with little improvement and a major loading issue.

If you haven't played this game before then it is definitely worth checking out.

The game is very immersive. You are essentially managing a base and survivors during a zombie apocalypse. There is a heavy emphasis on resource gathering/management. Also you have to level up your survivors and improve their skills by going out and clearing zombie infestations and helping neighbors.

The graphics are pretty poor but it doesn't matter because the game excels in every other department.

That's a port but stays as the best zombie game avaialbe. It's not Telltale but great anyway, you know, shooting and killing undeads is fun and RPG elements make it better

Also one more thing that is a bit annoying and stupid is that they should have put Coop in the game it would have been better to play with your friend together while surviving the apocalypse..... For the price we should all get this game because this is the price most games should cost!!!! Expand

State of Decay's concept seemed really great to me even in a time where the zombie thing has been way over done. That said, I'm super happy I gave this game a chance despite some super frustrating bugs, though few and far between can be quite a hindrance. More than once I was out on a supply run getting some really good stuff and then the game would crash and I would lose all progress. This happened 3 times of that magnitude, and another 2 when it didn't really matter all that much. Thankfully though, State of Decay gave me plenty of reasons to keep playing. Combat is real simple, but quite fun really. It reminded me a bit of Dying Light. Stamina is a huge factor and also knowing your limits when it comes to facing several zombies at a time. Go out alone or bring someone from you group of survivors to help you scavenge supplies, searching for new survivors to add to your roster, or just doing main story missions. What I thought was really cool was being able to switch to different characters with different stats. If you have been using one character he/she can get tired, effectively draining your usable stamina, so it is a good idea to switch to other characters to give your favorites a chance to rest. I have always been of the mind that graphics matter very little next to gameplay but I could see why graphics would be important to some people and in that respect State of Decay might frustrate you. Keep in mind though State of Decay was a 360 game ported to the Xbone. It is not a remaster. From what I understand the game runs a little better on the xbone but this is not a remaster, so you may want to keep some expectations in check. If you haven't played this one yet check it out. It is a lot cheaper now since it has been out a while and it may yet surprise you. Expand

The most effective way to kill zombies is to run them over with a vehicle, though the vehicles will become unusable after running over a few zombies. The story is you have to survive a zombie outbreak. Very original. But unlike in other mediums, I did not care about the characters. Even when it should be an emotional sene. The gameplay is mostly hitting zombies with melee weapons, sense ammo is very rare. And slowly searching building for items to carry back to your base, sometimes having to return to a location multiple times to get everything. I played the game for around 7 hours, but I decided to drop it because it became a unfun, chore. 5/10. Expand

Bought this for a tenner for Xbox One. The game in principle is great, but after about 3 hours of play i lost a main character. There is no ability to save/re-load. Its the way the game is designed, but combat/movement can be a bit glitchy (resulting in death). Um dos melhores jogos de zumbis de sempre. Tem tudo que um jogador espera: open world, combate corporal, exploração, crafting (bem simplório mas tem) etc. Vale muito a pena, obrigatório para donos de Xbox e PC.

If you like zombies, survival and live action this is a game for you.
State of decay is a game bout zombies that makes you wanna survive harder than in other game because in my personal opinion i think tthat the health bar is a little to low because i notice it goes down too fast. For me its a complete game that has a lot of cool mechanics and you will have hours of fun

An interesting game, whose graphics and mechanics are starting to show his age but which nonetheless is fun. The player gets a bit lost sometimes cause the menu and missions are not that clear, and one gets the feeling that is doing worthless tasks.

State of Decay for Xbox One has its ups and downs. While the atmosphere, the gameplay and the RPG aspects work perfectly, the graphics and story are really bad. If you want to play an interesting and entertaining game and you can overlook the flaws, you get a cool zombie survival action RPG!

State of Decay: Year-One Survival Edition doesn’t do much to standout from the original version of the game. Bugs, glitches, and other issues consistently drag down the experience but the sheer amount content, exhilarating survival elements, and solid gameplay saves the day leaving us with hours of fun inside this zombie playground.

State of Decay was one of the best Xbox Live Arcade titles to grace the 360 during its ten year life span and arguably one of the console’s best games full stop. This new updated edition is a step in the right direction.
