    Controlling like a more leisurely-paced Geometry Wars, Sparkle 4 Tales is a languid affair which could have used a little more focus and drive to make it something you’ll want to stick with until the end. As it is, it’s an aesthetically pleasant experience that I struggled to care about after the first thirty minutes.

    Sparkle 4 Tales on Xbox One is a great example of how a video game can never simply just be a piece of art, as it needs to have gameplay substance which goes beyond just superficial fodder to make players pick up a controller. There is certainly an attempt to evoke some sort of existential wonder, but it all comes across rather pretentious, especially when the game design as a whole just feels rather superficial.

You’ll immerse yourself in the atmospheric surroundings from the beginnings of life, and the immersive soundtrack to complement your experience. Explore the vast deeps in a quest to join the most developed organisms. Begin the emotional journey out of the depths into the bright and peaceful place of grown species. Have a conversations with the “creator” to determine your future. Will you grow into a peaceful being, a bloodthirsty carnivore or something in between? Explore the Void and find your destiny. Become a magnificent being and explore your potential in a unique story for your Xbox One. However I felt the overall experience lacked the substance it needed to truly be a next level experience. This was often the feeling most had in great looking and sounding games in past generations of gaming. Weighing in the price of admission I feel it’s more than fair for the total experience and lack of at the same time. If you enjoy the genre of evolution then I would say pick it up if not there’s not enough depth here to change your mind.… Full Review »

    You play as a spark and grow into aqua being. Not a bad game. I liked it pretty well and it’s affordable.
