    Sky Force Anniversary was a game that surprised me a lot because I must admit that I didn’t expect to enjoy it as much as I did, so as you can imagine I was looking forward to Sky Force Reloaded. Thankfully it delivers just like the first game did and whilst it’s pretty similar to the first game it still gave me a lot of enjoyment. Thankfully it delivers just like the first game did and whilst it’s pretty similar to the first game it still gave me a lot of enjoyment. The first thing you will realise is that the game has a huge amount of content and without a doubt you get value for your money, which is great. Some of the content in the game does require some grinding though and it can become tedious, but you can certainly get past this. The level design helps you get past the grinding brilliantly, and I was very impressed with the variety each level had. Without a doubt the most important thing in a game like this is the shooting mechanics, and thankfully they’ve done extremely well here. The shooting mechanics feel tight and responsive throughout and this is very important because the later challenges will frustrate you a great deal because the difficulty will definitely test you, but thankfully you can rely on the mechanics to help you get through it. Another thing I was impressed with was the upgrading mechanics that have been implemented in the game. These upgrading mechanics really do give you a reason to continue to play, and the best thing is that when you upgrade you can actually feel the benefits of it. The presentation side of the game may be simple but it’s also very effective at the same time. There isn’t much that’s memorable when it comes to the sound design, but I must admit that I thought the visuals definitely had a certain charm about them. At the end of the day Sky Force Reloaded has continued where Sky Force Anniversary left off, and that means if you enjoyed Anniversary then you will once again have a great time with the new game in the series. My only real gripe with the game is that I would have liked them to have mixed the formula up a bit in this version, but I suppose if it’s not broke then there’s no need to fix it. Sky Force Reloaded without a doubt gets a recommendation from me and hopefully there will be more game’s in the series.… Expand

    Who are all these people that lower the User Score with 0's? What's so cool about making the game that you clearly didn't play look bad and all the critics stupid? Honestly it feels like Metacritic is dying because of them.

    This game is fantastic - the level design, the music, the bosses and the upgrade system - everything is just... Right.     This game is fantastic - the level design, the music, the bosses and the upgrade system - everything is just... Right. If you've played this game on Android and you expect the same amount of grinding and stuff - forget about it. It was only done to make people pay for the game that they got for free, because paid games are easily pirated. The console versions do not have any of this, of course, because you have to pay 9.99$ (or buy a Game Pass) just to start playing it. So when you buy this game, it will be actually fun to play since there's very little grinding needed.

    Delivers what a sequel should be, with more of... everything... on top of the solid foundations they had with the predecessor. Fans of shoot-em-ups that aren’t straight up bullet hell titles should be looking into the Sky Force franchise.

    Sky Force Reloaded never feels unfair, because when you die, you know it was your fault, prompting you to go back and grind some more stars for upgrades. While the grind is real and might turn some off, the reward for doing so is great. Prepare to sink many hours into this game if you want the pay off, but once you get there, it’s amazing. For a title that’s under $10 CAD, the amount of value within is outstanding. While it doesn’t surpass Ikaruga as my favorite shmup of all time, the fact that I had to think about it and compare it should speak volumes. I haven’t been this hooked and excited about a shmup in many years, and Sky Force Reloaded completely blew me away. If you’re a shmup fan at all, casual or hardcore, you need to have this one in your library without question.
