There's no flashy over the top effects, just combat influenced by Kung Fu films not overly exaggerated. The game features authentic fighting sounds from films and a licensed soundtrack with great music from classic kung fu movies. Shaolin vs Wutang is a real love letter to classic Kung Fu cinema we've all seen before love them or not Shaolin vs Wutang shines. This is a indie passion project that was made by one person who has tremendous passion for, and knowledge of Kung Fu films. "It is not my intention to provide the same experience as big budget fighting games. But rather I hope to provide players with a satisfying gaming experience blended with nostalgia and reminiscence of the great Kung Fu films." That's exactly what's here, with options and and interface to back it up. IF you're a fighting fan it's definitely worth the price of admission, if you're an achievement hunter the set isn't wildly difficult but can take a little more time to complete than some of the other "rather easy" completions. I really don't have anything negative to say about the game, it's priced well and it plays and has plenty of content to entertain well. If you're a fan of kung fu films or just looking for a solid fighting game at a good price point then look no further. Shaolin vs Wutang will suit your desires to lip sink while battling your foes along the way. Expand

The only positive thing I can say is that it doesn't cost much. I like indie games and small budget games but this is bad. Everything is kind of generic and goofy but not self aware.

As a game, Shaolin vs Wutang is not great, but then, as an experience to take you back to the golden age of martial arts films, it’s a triumph. It all depends on which camp you fall into.
