I dont understand all the negativity, this game is simply gorgeous with a deep story, relatable characters, amazing graphics and fun gameplay. I love this new Lara, a smart, flawed character that its more than just good looks. The sense of adventure and wonder resonated with me and its simply one of the most awesome games Ive ever played. Kudos to square, eidos and cd. For this.

Absolutely worth it! If you are into that kind of games it's a must-play. But be careful: the shooting is extremly reduced compared to the other 2 reboot games.

Alot of people will also probably be upset that the combat was both toned down a ton, with the emphasis on stealth, and alot of it was cut from the previous game. I'm more upset that literally nothing new was added to the gameplay. It's the same stuff from the previous two games, with almost literally nothing new added to it. I'm severely disappointed with Crystal Dynamics that they didn't add at least something new like a new weapon or new mechanic. It's an extreme let down.
The story is ok, even if there are a few plot holes here and there. Basically if you've come this far with the new reboot, you almost have to finish the story up. Even if it's not the best story to begin with. The main draw to playing this game are the challenge tombs as they are easily the most refreshing part of the game. The puzzles are very well done and the environments in the puzzles are about as different as the game gets since its all set in central and south america. It got to the point with me that I only played to get from tomb to tomb and slogged my way through everything else. Its a shame too because I thought a couple of amazing performances by both Lara's and Jonah's actors were a bit wasted by the setting and the story in general.
I don't know where Tomb Raider is going to go from here. I personally feel like its time for Crystal Dynamics to move on from the franchise. However, no matter who is in charge for the new game in the series, it needs a drastic refresh in terms of gameplay. They pushed this system as far as it would go, maybe even a little to far with this game. They've rebooted her story now they need to reboot her gameplay mechanics.

Yes it's always the same game-play with Rise of the Tomb Raider, but it's a cool gameplay. Why change when it works. I really like a lot this game, a i like the two previous.
It have a good story, with good characters. I've a very good time follow Lara in her journey.
It's a very beautiful game. So, i hope for another trilogy with Lara and will replay this trilogy during this time.

Bigger and better than Rise, practically gave us everything people have been asking for minus the cargo shorts and duel pistols. Graphics on the XB1X are superb. Must have for true Tomb Raider fans.

This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. It's a pretty solid game until it suddenly takes a hard turn into the white colonialism it's supposedly criticizing. More specifically, it's rather racist in its depiction of pre-Hispanic civilizations. There's a secret indigenous army that are savages unable to talk and whose only purpose is to kill. Maya, Aztec and Inca cultures are treated as if they were basically interchangeable. Religious rituals (human sacrifices) are played for shock. Not to mention the fact that it's a story about a white British woman saving brown people from themselves. Expand

It is amazing high quality game. Bravo Square Enix, Crystal Dynamics, Eidos Montreal. This is how it is done. I was playing this on Xbox One X, though highly recommend it to PlayStation owners as well.

Rise of the Tomb Raider was the peak for me. Where is all of the combat in this game? They replaced most of the combat with larger tombs, crypts, and NPC interactions. People who enjoy the tomb raiding aspect will love this game. And people like me who mostly enjoyed the combat will be very disappointed.

The continuation of Tomb Raider is a good game. This time it seeks to differentiate itself from the Uncharted saga of which it is stigmatized with its first game of 2013. This time the beautiful Lara Croft is more lethal showing how she becomes the heroine that is remembered from the games of twenty years ago. Although, the adventure takes place in Latin America. This is a way of recalling the first adventures of the classic Lara Croft. It is observed that there are NPCs that speak in the language of the region, be it Spanish or Quechua for example. Another aspect that stands out more is the option to adjust the difficulty of the story, the puzzles, the confrontations, and the exploration. This makes the game more versatile.

In the gameplay, stealth is prioritized. Although, it could improve in the secondary missions and not to put the missions of messenger, but it is a pleasure to play with Lara.

Not as good as Rise, but better than 2013 TR. It's good. Not liking the silly story much, which takes itself way too seriously. Presentation is grand, though. Pacing a bit wonky and personally, I don't like all these many human interactions. I wanna be alone with those puzzles in some weird ass remote place, changing water levels in illogical caves 'n **** Which this still has, luckily.

This is the best Tomb Raider yet. I have no idea why critics are being so tough on it. I will say that some things could be better (animations, hand-to-hand combat, etc), but the good outweighs the bad by a large margin. Honestly, this game is a solid 9,0 I did put 10 to push the score up a bit. But don't worry, this game is spectacular.

Dark and dirty but also full of fun and discovery, Shadow of the Tomb Raider is rife with jungle mysteries, embellished history, gratifying puzzles and Lara Croft's personal struggles. With more open world exploration, more climbing, more tombs and more options for combat, it's a familiar but improved adventure and a gripping conclusion to the trilogy.
