Rugby 20 is a Sports Simulation Game with Licensed teams. Eko Software and BigBen Interactive Bring us the most complete Rugby game yet. With sharper graphics, and motion-capture animations the game looks great! Continuing off the mechanics of the former Rugby games from BigBen Interactive, they've added a few new controls, and features. The most notable feature is the Tactics Editor, allowing you to create your own plays and take them to the field. The physics feel good and encompass the action nicely. The announcers feel like announcers, with all the technical terms, and fast quips you'd expect from a sportscaster. Rugby fans should be very happy with this release, as it does everything it can to embody the action and feel of a Rugby game. From Scrum to Score, this the most action in a rugby game. Sports enthusiasts and Rugby fans should definitely add this to their collection! Expand

I think it's important to remember this is not a game made by a big studio, thus can't live up to AAA expectations.

With that out the way, this game feels like rugby. Although a bit clunky in parts and lacks graphical finesse. Rugby 20 is great fun and makes a decent fist if the various concepts with the game of rugby. Its not simple to just pick up and play. The set plays are great and

The set plays are great and the tactics for defending and attacking are representative of the real thing. Overall I'd have scored this higher but it lacks some important international teams and the player ratings in places are really off.

  1. The Six Nations Championship brings fresh hope that we might finally get a great rugby game, but this engaging effort fails to convert where it counts.

Rugby 20 is certainly a passable experience for the sport, one of the better ones in previous years, but it doesn’t do much more that’s exciting. The lack of licensed teams was its biggest letdown, but those wanting an authentic Rugby experience really has no better option out there right now, even if it’s a moderate try at best.

The Solo mode provides a bit of longevity and a couple of the new features hit the mark, but when you weigh it all up Rugby 20 is finely balanced as a bang average – at best – sporting experience.
