    This game is just plain awful. Ubisoft trying to make a buck and pony on with the other ftp games. Nothing good to it… mechanics are about 20 yrs behind. Jet set radio was made 22 years ago… this is what the skating feels like without the fun.

    Roller champions is a game that with a month of work could easily become a good game
    The games mechanics are great, skating is quite satisfying. the rules of the game (go around in a circle and score) while simple, they work. however the visuals aren't too good. this looks like a mid-gen 360 game on a series x, and the game isn't even on switch, so it doesn't have that excuse.

    my main problem with this game is the lack of maps. there are just three visual variations on the same map! and that map isn't even interesting. its just a flat oval! an oval does not gel well with the game concepts either
    there's even a practice map that's 100x more interesting, however it can't be played on in an actual game.
    a simple 8 shaped circuit, a square, or some more uniquely shaped Mario kart esc maps would've have gone a long way.    … Expand

    If Roller Champions was a real sport it could easily attract many eyes to its events. Unfortunately, it just does not bring enough to the table as a ‘game’ in its current form.

    All of which is such a shame, because there is a fun team-based sport tucked away in Roller Champions. For the first few hours, I had a great time with it--it's just that the uniformity in regards to its maps and mechanics eventually makes each match start to feel a bit samey. I can see myself picking it up every once in a while for an enjoyable bout around the rink, but there's just not enough meat to the bones of this live-service game to make it a part of my daily rotation.

    Roller Champions is a mixed bag that is in definite need of some balancing. Under the right circumstances it’s an absolute blast… but take one little bit of that equation away and you’ll be left frustrated.
