Ritual: Of Crown and Thorn: This top down strategic shooter comes with an interesting story line, what do you do when your prey becomes your ally? Well blast your way through cultists and recruit more allys then blast more cultists while making sure "The Witch" completes her ritual, collecting souls to get better guns and using them according to the given situation. Well blast your way through cultists and recruit more allys then blast more cultists while making sure "The Witch" completes her ritual, collecting souls to get better guns and using them according to the given situation. This game does certainly keep you on your toes, having to be aware of whats going on all around and where your attention is needed the most at that given moment, though not hetic enough to not be able to just play and blow off some steam. With nice visuals, easy navigation and controls and an interesting story line this is something you can easily sink a bit of time into now and again. My major disappointment with this is each stage felt like it plays the same as the last, yes the enemies may change or get a new gun it feels like watching the same situation play out. So while I do reccomend this game, for me it is probably something I'd go at for maybe 2 or 3 hours tops each time before calling it a day for a day or so. Expand

Ritual: Crown of Horns is an enjoyable experience, but one that seems determined to frustrate through its unforgiving difficulty and repetitive nature. Its soul is saved, though, by an grimly pretty art style and satisfying, punchy gunplay.

Ritual: Crown of Horns on Xbox One deserves your time. It’s an engaging experience that’ll find you wanting to quickly run through a bite-sized level yet straining to put the controller back down. It’s unique Grindhouse aesthetic can’t lift it up enough to stand beside the best of the genre yet it should be lauded for being such a strong package that accomplishes what it set out to achieve.
