Though it could be a fun couple hours of gameplay, that’s all it is. Very short game with a lot of cut content from the original. Also cutting iconic scenes such as Nemesis killing Brad and Nemesis jumping through the window in the Police Station. The game feels like a DLC and was overpriced for the content.

00:00 on April 3rd, not a second more, I opened the game and started playing. Right away, I was already surprised: The game shows absurd details that we would never think to see more deeply, you finally get to know WHY Jill starts the game so hurriedly, they went deeper into the beginning, and I know that almost nobody noticed it, but the beginning of RE3 (99) is quite flawed, it does not explain anything, it is very vast, but this vast space is not used. This was fixed in Remake, you now have a full idea of how it all started: frantically and without time to breathe. Speaking of the beginning: right when you start the game, you soon notice the work that Capcom has been doing with its RE Engine, because the game is incredibly beautiful and lighter, there are few FPS drops throughout the game.

With Resident Evil 3 being (READ CAREFULLY) and I repeat: READ CAREFULLY, a REIMAGINATION of the original Resident Evil 3, I must disregard any criticism about the lack of puzzles, scenes from the original game or something like that. GOOD PART OF THINGS CHANGED, and changed for real, are scenes missing? Yes. Are there any classic scenarios missing? No. You are literally playing a reimagination of something over 20 years old, which is considered beautiful today can be horrible 20 years from now, think about it.

The difficulty is ok, because the difference here is in which you play, Normal or Intense (or whatever it is called in your native language), it varies a lot from person to person, but I would say it is 'nice' to finish the play on Normal difficulty, and as expected, it is 'intense' to play on Intense difficulty. There is not much to say, as time goes by you decrease your wanderings in the campaign, take more practice of dodging and learn how to master the game.

I don't know if you noticed, but in this game there is an enemy called "Nemesis": THIS SON OF A **** IS MUCH MORE TERRORIZING THAN THE ORIGINAL. I know, many nostalgic people would say that I'm wrong, which is a **** lie. The original Nemesis was fought, as well as the gameplay, but for me it was the most iconic villain ever created in a game. IT WAS THE MOST ICONIC, because the current Nemesis arrives kicking the ass of whoever is ahead, with an absurd variation of weapons, in addition to the guy appearing in totally unexpected moments, that is, be prepared to take some scares! ... I would say that this Nemesis is the ultimate Nemesis, he has no limitations whatsoever, he is everything Capcom wanted for the original: A relentless enemy, SON OF A **** with an incredible variety of weapons, and a **** persistence.

The final battle leaves nothing to be desired (like almost everything in this game, or personally, like nothing in this game). It's just incredible, beautiful in many ways, I really expected fewer battles and a Nemesis with less shapes, but I was surprised: You really fight Nemesis in many different ways in many different places, until you reach the end. The end is standard Capcom, if you are an old player on the chart, you will deal well with the last Nemesis, the one whose final appearance is much more realistic, in the sense that it matches more with the strength and veracity of his own. It is perhaps one of the worst monstrosities that Capcom can think of in the end (and one of the most disgusting perhaps?) ... There is not much else to say, just feel it!

And finally, the final score of the game: 10/10, and if I could I would give an 11/10, but on a scale of 0 to 10, 11 does not exist and that would not make any sense. The game is AMAZING, almost nothing, and it is the perfect reimagination of the classic Resident Evil 3. You feel how much more faithful the reality of what happened in Jill's life in those days in this remake, everything sounds more terrifying, because everything is more realistic, Nemesis shows in ALL POSSIBLE WAYS how persistent he is, and Jill shows how much more persistent and courageous she is, generating this duel of giants that is Resident Evil 3.

    Let it came, Code: Veronica.

Resident Evil 3 is different to the original. It has a lot of missing content. In the beginning we didn't meet Mr Nemesis breaking though the wall in the original and the five minutes of cut scenes. That's what happens in the remake. you barley play in the first 10 minutes of the game because it's all cut scenes.
It is a good remake in some ways, but the game is incredibly easy.

This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. An excellent game and proof that a survival/horror classic can be successfully adapted into a horror/action game. The sound, score, graphics, controls and balance of difficulty culminated in a very immersive experience. I do have two major gripes and one minor one. First and most egregious is the cutting of content; particularly enemy types and locations. If I had to pick one scene that absolutely had to be restored, it is the Graveyard and grave digger worm. Where could they have put that scene? Right after the cutscene where Jill crashes on the train. She would come out of the bunker and into the graveyard which leads to the park which is directly connected to the bridge leading to the second Nemesis fight. i did like how they combined the hospital and the waste disposal facility. Really smart. The other gripe is I wish the at least the opening act was more open to exploration. There was a lot of potential there. If you lingered too long in an area, Nemesis would come for you. The last complaint is the end cutscene where Carlos flies Jill out of the city. They could have at least put Barry Burton as the pilot on a higher difficulty level. Oh and Carlos’s hair style. He looks like a sheepdog that needs to be groomed. Overall, it is a great game that could have been perfect. Expand

Yes I know that most of the people doesn't like short games, they think that a game, to be good and worth it, it must have 60 hours of gameplay. But no, a game must be fun and If a game is short and You can play it, reserval times. What is the problem with that? I finished it in a couple of morning and I think not only the gamplay was good but the soundtrack too.

Graphics: best graphics for a RE game. I think Nemesis redesign was not the right choise. I like more the Nemesis design for the old game.

Sound: Wonderfull sound track. Cool voices.

Gameplay: Very funny because it is short, you can finish the game several times if you want and try to master it like the old one.

The original Resident Evil 3: Nemesis (1999) is by far the most unsettling, intense, and haunting chapter of the original RE trilogy with very good pacing and exploration. It took what came before and injected steroids into it. It was also quite heavy on action, but not overwhelmingly so. What this 'reimagining' did is it got rid of the former (exploration & pacing) and overdosed on the latter (action). Just as Nemesis was removed from the title of the game, you might as well argue he was removed from the game entirely since he was reduced to an extremely scripted occurrence. What the players were teased with was open worlded exploration of Raccoon City as you'd be relentlessly chased by a Mr. X-like enemy. What ended up happening is that you're constantly being pushed in the direction you're supposed to go in an extremely streamlined version of the city (about 50% of the original locations are missing) and the player is incessantly bombarded by scripted action sequences that require barely any input from them to get through besides pressing "Up." A massive disappointment and a travesty considering the price Capcom is charging for what essentially feels like a DLC. Expand

Resident Evil 3 isa 5 hour long 3rd person survival horror game where you play as 2 characters, Jill and Rico, however unlike resident evil 2, their story is combined rather than 2 separate campaigns.. this left many to compare the two games, I however appreciate that each resident evil game is its own thing.. though this does feel like a much mor linear version of resident evil 2.. youll still be just as addicted to map cleaning with the super useful map color system, where the map will changecolors once oyuve collected everything from a room, so youre not searching everywhere for items… resident evil 3 also toned down a lot of the scavenger hunting.. this is more get from point a to b, solve the problem needed to progress and deal with zombies along your way, pick up every item you can, craft health and ammo… all while nemesis, the main monster in this game is stalking you, running into him feels terrifying as much like mr x,, nemesis is seemingly unkillable… youll be running from safe room to safe room.. the game does autosave but youre free to save in any safe room much again like resident evil 2… story wise I wasn’t all too intrigued here, but I loved the environments, especially in the first half of the game, I wanted to search every building just to see some new scenery, youre not stuck in the same spot for nearly the entire game, which I appreciate.. and I also appreciate the lightbare on my ps5 controller telling me how much health I have left.. one less thing to bring up my inventory for.. but one more thing to bring it up..and that’s management.. I hate how little space you have here in resident evil 3.. sure you can find upgrade pouches, but it just never feels like enough space, especially when new guns can take up multiple spaces and even quest items take up spaces which really just shoulnt be a thing in any game… though it does add to the scarcity feeling, do I ant this ammo or do I want to keep my healing items… its just as a map cleaner, its annoying..
Overall though I enjoyed Resident Evil 3… if youre going into it expecting more resident evil 2, you wont get it..youll be disappointed in its length and more action feel..resident evil 3 like every other resident evil its its own experience and I for one like that.. Resident Evil Resistance also comes with resident evil 3, but ill be reviewing that mode separately.

I had my entertaining fun, but it doesn't match the atmospheric density of the second part. Resident Evil 3 felt more like a pure action game. It starts with this "cheat" evasive role, which was helpful but felt too inappropriate.

For me, the nemesis is only a shadow of the Tyrant, from which a threat emanated solely through its presence. The Nemesis was just a recurring action cannon fodder for me, even if the sequences were done very cool and the cattle are very aggressive.

I also found the protagonists rather weak. Jill was a really cool character, I hardly connected with the rest, especially Nicholai was just annoying.

In terms of graphics, there is actually nothing to complain about, and I didn't have any bugs or performance problems worth mentioning. The place around these spider-like insects was very cool and really disgusting in its staging: D.

Is it as good as RE2 Remake? No. Sadly it is not. Resident Evil 3 is missing the two biggest factors of the Original, Its heart and its soul!
Resident Evil 3 has awesome Graphics, and it almost looks like next gen. But The Villain, Nemesis, is the most annoying villain after the Calypso Twins in Borderlands 3. His Appearances and Fights were predictable! The opening is well done and creepy. They humiliated Jill by changing her iconic outfit. I do liked Carlos' quotes. In Overall, this feels like a DLC for RE2 Remake, and is not worth 60$.

Verdict; RE3 Remake is disappointing, but it is enjoyable too. I'd say get it for 30 dollars and if you are a super fan get it for 40.

The original had way more depth and tons of replay value. When the original was made back in the day it was absolutely amazing for the times. The graphics were great, soundtrack awesome and gameplay amazing.

The remake the graphics are 1000 times better. However, the game is short and the replay value is zero. The story was changed and lots of orig al content was removed. Very very sad because of the remake was a true remake with today's tech. Omg it would be truly magnificent.

This was the first new release of 2020 I played through (I'll get to Doom Eternal some day) and it was definitely a good one.

Resident Evil 3 is, more or less, all I expected it to be. That's not a bad thing at all, many games fail to even meet the decent expectations that are set for them. Anyway, just like last years Resident Evil 2, it's a third person survival horror game with a short campaign but one that encourages you to play through it several times.

This time around, the horror takes a big back seat for the sake of action which is fitting considering the original Resident Evil 3 did the same thing. This has it's pros and cons. While I would say this game is more fun to play with no additions like more frequent action as well as the satisfying dodge move, it's definitely not of a higher quality than Resi 2. I enjoy both very much but for different reasons and I'd say the reasons I enjoy Resi 2 matter just a bit more.

The campaign is stripped down to give us one plotline this time, switching between characters at certain points instead of giving us two different campaigns... or, an inconsistent half assed two different campaigns in the case of the Resi 2 remake. For that very reason, I'm okay with there only being one campaign again. My biggest complaint with Resi 2 was the plot inconsistency between both campaigns, there is no way both campaigns can be canon simultaneously so this game eliminates that issue, even if it takes the easy way out.

The game also felt a bit shorter than Resi 2. I started playing Resident Evil 3 the exact minute it was released, 12 o'clock midnight on April 3rd and I ended up finishing the game by 6:30 in the morning the same day. I totaled in about 5 hours of gameplay. For a first playthrough, I'd say that's short.

The sections where you play as Carlos as opposed to Jill also fell short for me. There's a specific section in the game where you're forced to fight a horde of zombies for a few minutes which felt totally tacked on and out of place, it really really turned me off but it didn't last super long so ultimately, it didn't ruin the whole experience. It just felt so out of place, it only happens one time, (thank god) so it's without a doubt just gonna be remembered as that weird, out of place, forced action sequence as well as the worst part of the game.

Anyway, I still had fun, enough to beat the whole game in one sitting from midnight until dawn. I've never done that for any game launch before and I did not expect this game to be the one I did it with first. The game was much less scary this time around and the story isn't as memorable but if you liked Resi 2 and want some more of that game, here you go.

Let's hope the pandemic of the real world doesn't end up looking like Raccoon City.
I beat this game in April of 2020.

This game definitely wasn't as good as 2 and VII, but it still provides some of those good RE horror/action factors, especially the second one.

Expand

but there no stuff in there
    No Clock tower
    no raccoon park
    no Cemetery
no Dead Factory because the Umbrella Lab NEST 2 is in the Dead Factory with the Railgun instead of the Raccoon City Memorial Hospital because in the original Carlos went to the hospital to find Dr Nathaniel Bard for the Vaccine cure to cure Jill in the Clock tower and before the nemesis broke through.
also No Grave Digger Boss that's missing
weapons like Freeze rounds for Explosive C 2x and those Explosive B and C would combine as Mine Rounds those are missing. instead we got Explosive rounds, Flame rounds, Acid rounds and Mine rounds.
Enemies too as well like the Spiders and Crows are missing the Brain suckers were missing even those Blue herbs would stop the poison from happening in your body. but at least we had the good enemies back like Zombies, Zombie dogs (Cerberus), Lickers, Drain Deimos, even the Hunters like Hunter Beta and Hunter Gamma but they must of replace the crows and spiders with these new enemies like Pald heads and Ne-A parasite that controls Zombies, even Brain suckers would be perfect in the Dead factory level in Nest 2.
also the second form of nemesis is missing too because his second form he had Tentacles came out of his body and hand before he turn into a beast form but the last form i think he was a Parasitic Metamorphosis Bug like Insect combine with a parasite and the Tryant.
also the Extra mode would be Mercenaries that would be awesome to play like Carlos, Mikhail viktor, Nikoial, and Tyrell to play in the Mercenaries mode... also the ending they should put Berry Burton in the game as well and the cut scene where Raccoon City explodes from a Missile strike. I just wish Capcom would go back and fix the whole game by putting all the stuff in there. and make it better than just fast and go type..

Jill is a phenomenal protagonist who at first glance I felt that I'd more so dislike, but as the story progresses and you experience more and more of her badass nature, she becomes one of the most compelling and awesome characters of all time, in ANY game I've played. Carlos also proves to be a brilliant and creatively laid out character, giving the view point of a soldier who always stuck by his morals of putting others lives before his own. Although it may be a relatively short campaign in comparison to the RE2 remaster (~5-7 hours), the game still gives the player enough scares and fun, awesome moments to satisfy! Nemesis doesn't have the same scare factor as Mr X does in RE2, looks cheap and are mainly mini boss fights. There are alot of recycled assets that are used throughout. This is like a miniature RE6 but without the QTEs... which is a bonus because there are none. A disappointment but I enjoyed it with how short the game is (6 hours on normal difficulty. Can complete in 2 hours if you speed run it)

The positive is the graphics looks amazing, runs smoothly on the Xbox One X. The first hour of the game does a great job of recreating the FMV at the original game. Smooth controls like in RE2.

This should have been a DLC add on for RE2, Not a full retail priced game. If you do want to play then I recommend that you should at least rent it (Or buy it on sale if your patient.).

I cannot see how people are giving this game 10's, this is nowhere near a perfect game, whilst this also is nowhere near a 0 or 1. I think it's important that this is a Reimagining of the Resident Evil 3 game, not a faithful remake or remaster, this is a reimagining. Both this and RE2's remake, are completely different games, they shouldn't be compared directly with each other. However,I cannot see how people are giving this game 10's, this is nowhere near a perfect game, whilst this also is nowhere near a 0 or 1. I think it's important that this is a Reimagining of the Resident Evil 3 game, not a faithful remake or remaster, this is a reimagining. Both this and RE2's remake, are completely different games, they shouldn't be compared directly with each other. However, it's clear that "MORE" detail was put into the 2nd's remake last year.

RE3 Reimagining is a somewhat faithful attempt at recreating the story of Jill Valentine in RE3 the original. The RE Engine is at full works in this game, with the game showcasing fantastic graphics and a very enjoyable gameplay experience. Unfortunately, while these are separate games, a lot of assets have clearly been reused from last year's RE2 remake, this is clearly evident with zombies, with a lot of zombies being reused from the zombies we mostly encountered in the Police station.

A lot has changed from Re3 original to this reimagining. For starters, Jill and Carlos both have different looks, Jill, compared to her Re1 and Re3 look has a slightly darker complexion and a different outfit from the get-go, however, you can still get the original outfit by purchasing a DLC item. Carlos has a new haircut and a new personality. I think Carlos looks better in the original outfit (again paid DLC), but it's all preference. The new designs I have no issues with, just I prefer their older designs. Unfortunately, some of the best parts of the original RE3 are completely gone, like the clocktower sequence against Nemesis, which has been skimmed over, and the multiple puzzles that were needed to be solved early in the original re3. Enemies like crows, spiders, and even the giant Centipede have completely been removed from the game, and some areas have been removed as well. There were also choices you would make in re3 original that would take you on a different scenario/path that are non-existent in this game.

However, this game does some things right, like the hospital redesign is by far one of the best areas you will visit in the game. There are multiple areas to explore and feels somewhat similar to the RPD from the 2nd game. Hunters are well designed now, they look more menacing and some players are crawling with heaps of them.

Nemesis, unfortunately, is a big issue with this game. Instead of being somewhat unpredictable in the original re3, he now is sequenced based, and only really comes out when you are needing to get to somewhere important. Unfortunately, some of his later game boss fights are some of the most frustrating boss fights in any re game. However, NEMESIS is still a really good addition to this game and looks fantastic, however, after a few hrs you will get tired of his antics and realize, he is more of a nuisance than a threat.

CapCom also missed the mark by not remastering or adding the original RE3 ost as a download, or extra. RE2 has this option, so not being able to play the game with the original ost was extremly disappointing. Overall, the game is still really enjoyable, however, it isn't worth the $89 AUD, or whatever the full price game is worth in your region. If you have already played RE2, I would personally wait until this goes on sale. This was clearly a rushed job, which is a shame, because more time on this game, we could've seen truly something amazing. If you are new to the franchise and looking for a game to pick up, play re2 remakes first, that if we are comparing the two is a far better experience than this reimagining.

This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. Horrible. Expand

Ok game. Finished in over 8 hours on first gameplay. Not much new on second gameplay. Cutting original maps was not cool and the online game is boring atm.

Feels like a DLC for RE2R. Why did they remove the great ragdoll physics which contributed to the great atmosphere in RE2R? Why did they cut so much content from the original? Game itself looks great and first playthrough is fun, but that´s it.
Capcom got me this time, because I payed full-price for a DLC. I´m disappointed!

For example the removal of the live selection mechanic from the original, a fantastic idea that allowed the original to feel just as large and detailed as it's predecessor ( original Re2) , at the same time allowing it to focus on just one character, being Jill. This feature is completely missing, making this remake feel not only smaller in comparison with the 2019 Re2 Remake but even smaller than the original. Nemesis is underwhelming and not well used, he feels less scary and dominant, not only because he follows you around much less here but also because he is manly used in uninspired scripted events that make his seem less special and powerful than Mr. X from the last remake.

The graphics look great and the controls are nice, a particular highlight would be the new dodge mechanic, as well some of the remixed music fits in well. Other then those compliments this game feels rushed, uninspired and less scary than the original ( and the other remake) . I wouldn't recommended unless you buy at a very heavy sale.

The game is too linear. Poor changes to iconic moments, like Brad not dying by Nemesis. Nemesis feels weak, and mutates too fast (I'm not a fan of his giant licker transformation). Where are all the people getting attacked by zombies? There are characters running away, but show me the direct threat of the antagonists interacting with the uninfected. This makes the atmosphere feel kind of small and empty. No clock tower, no park, not being to return to Dario Rosso to find out his fate.

The game looks great, and the voice acting is solid. There were some fun moments. I think newcomers to this game will enjoy it a lot more. For me, it was a huge let down; I'll stick to the original.

They had a winning formula in RE2:R but decided to digress into action packed zombie film. The last straw being removing the clock tower part of the game which is THE most scary house in the franchise.

I've been a resident evil fan since the 1990s. I've liked nearly every release and played most of them. The resident evil 2 remake was perfect and expanded the original by a lot. Plenty of replayability and fun on every playthrough. While re3 looks amazing, it is WAY too short. All the momentum the previous release gained is gone. Capcom really dropped the ball on this release. JustI've been a resident evil fan since the 1990s. I've liked nearly every release and played most of them. Good game. But not worth 60$

Too short however, I would expect somewhere from 10h-20h of gameplay for a 60$ product.
This game could have been a DLC for RE2.

This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. I enjoyed this game a lot but the more I play it the more I realise I paid full price for a online game that comes with a story mode which only came to mind when there's only 1 costume unlock for Jill after you complete the story and these a lot of cosmetics for the online mode not only that but they've said they are going to continue to support Resistance but no word on if they're going to add any more costumes or anything for Re3 Remake. Such wasted potential all I say is don't buy this full price wait until it goes on a huge sale because honestly your not missing out on much Expand

Overall this game could be seen as a missed opportunity to flesh out what was — in 1999 — a quick but quirky followup to the more substantial RE3. But from the insane locations and intriguing characters to the stunning looks and satisfying action, this is a stellar game in its own right, and that can't be ignored.

Parts of the game, such as the opening in Jill’s apartment, look positively cinematic — so textured and atmospheric one can almost imagine that video games will draw near the end of the uncanny valley in our lifetimes. If and when that should occur, I hope that Capcom will have found another horror template than zombies.

After an explosive start, Resident Evil 3 on Xbox One quickly falls into a familiar rhythm. Having a Tyrant hunt you down is now the new norm for Resident Evil, but the most feared of all will always be Nemesis. He quickly disappears into the cutscenes however, without as much of an impact as you would perhaps hope. Thankfully though, there are enough environment and enemy variations crammed into this short experience that you never get a chance to settle down and acquaint yourself with any one enemy type, and as a survival horror game that is exactly how you want to feel.
