The game itself is great in terms of jugability and technical aspects, I did enjoy the game but the lack of content is very dissapointing, Nemesis is very scripted, theres only one moment in the campaing where it chases you without a script, I expected more streets, revisiting Clock Tower, The Park, Worm Boss Battle, and many other things from the original , the games feels rushed, and thats not good for a $60 game, resistance is like a different game nobody asked for, anyway.. the game is fun and is exciting but is damn short, hopefully it could be something else with upcoming DLCs, I hope Capcom think about giving this game more content, there are so many options, Nicholais Campaing, Mikhails before the arrival of Jill, etc... or you can even expand the lore adding characters from RE Outbreak, its up to you, good game but very short Expand

A dumbed down Resident Evil experience.

The classic Resident Evil Games have a special magic to them. Resident Evil 2 Remake accomplished to bring that magic to modern times with only slight compromises. While the remake of Resident Evil 3 manages to prevail some of that oldschool Resident Evil flair, a lot of it got cut out, not only compared to the original RE3 but also compared it's direct predecessor, the fabulous RE2 Remake.
While i can live with certain changes like no choices or no multiple endings or the missing clocktower part, i absolutely don't understand why there are almost no puzzles in this game. A classic Resident Evil game with only a handful, super easy puzzles? That's a bummer!
Thinking and solving riddles was a great counterpart to the surrounding brutality, horror and action.
But the most annoying thing in this remake is the fact, that it's difficulty got dumbed down.
There are typewriters every five minutes where you can save your "progress". But not only that, this game also autosaves almost everywhere. There is nothing at stake anymore! It feels like there is always a safety net beneath you and nothing bad can happen anyways. But this takes the fear or excitement of losing completely out of it. I played it on "hardcore" or "veteran" (in europe) difficulty and even there i felt like nothing really bad can happen to me because, yeah, autosave and a million typewriters. It feels like capcom wanted to avoid at any cost that the player could feel unpleasant or annoyed, so therefore the safety net.
Also the inventory management got simplified and you find plenty of hip pouches easily. And where are the blue herbs?
The main game is good, not great, not excellent, but good. You can argue about the length, yes, but on "hardcore" ("veteran") i played about 12 hours all in all and was kinda satisfied. The bossfights were hard! That's good.
But the multiplayer called Resistance is clunky and chaotic. Fighting as a group against the mastermind. The idea sounds good, but its execution is bad. And why random teenagers? The RE franchise has enough characters to chose from.
I still hope capcom is going to remake the first Resident Evil or Code Veronica with this new, outstanding engine. But if they do, please with more time and care.

This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. At the weekend I brought the game to the end and took a total of 4 hours 54 hours and achieved a meager 380 gamerscore and ranked C.

I had my entertaining fun, but it doesn't match the atmospheric density of the second part. Resident Evil 3 felt more like a pure action game. It starts with this "cheat" evasive role, which was helpful but felt too inappropriate.

For me, the nemesis is only a shadow of the Tyrant, from which a threat emanated solely through its presence. The Nemesis was just a recurring action cannon fodder for me, even if the sequences were done very cool and the cattle are very aggressive.

I also found the protagonists rather weak. Jill was a really cool character, I hardly connected with the rest, especially Nicholai was just annoying.

In terms of graphics, there is actually nothing to complain about, and I didn't have any bugs or performance problems worth mentioning. The place around these spider-like insects was very cool and really disgusting in its staging: D.

In spite of all that, I certainly had my 5 hours of fun and that's why there are 7/10 zombies.

Some of the most memorable areas such as the clock tower, Racoon Park or the cemetery are taken out of the game. There are no puzzle sections which is an important game mechanic of series. Nemesis doesn't have the same scare factor as Mr X does in RE2, looks cheap and are mainly mini boss fights. There are alot of recycled assets that are used throughout. This is like a miniature RE6 but without the QTEs... which is a bonus because there are none. A disappointment but I enjoyed it with how short the game is (6 hours on normal difficulty. Can complete in 2 hours if you speed run it)

The positive is the graphics looks amazing, runs smoothly on the Xbox One X. The first hour of the game does a great job of recreating the FMV at the original game. Smooth controls like in RE2.

This should have been a DLC add on for RE2, Not a full retail priced game. If you do want to play then I recommend that you should at least rent it (Or buy it on sale if your patient.).

This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. Listen, I actually enjoy this game all through, but it is not a good remake(or should I say reimagining). I think the negativity on Metacritic for this game is a bit excessive in my opinion because it is not the worst Resident Evil game, just not a good reimaging game. The fact that this game is $60 is crazy since the campaign is really short yet it felt long and the game felt so linear without any exploring freedom. The main enemy, Nemesis, is barely in this game which is rather disappointing, everything felt rush yet long...I don't what to say. I liked how they made Jill cocky, love the dodge mechanics, Raccoon City is beautiful to be in, Nemesis is terrifying(when he shows up), and the rest of the characters is alright. I'm more disappointed that they remove some of the best parts of the original Resident Evil 3 like the Gravedigger, the park, even the FREAKIN CLOCK TOWER, and barely any puzzles in this game. Overall, is not a good game or a bad game, just disappointing. I was hoping this game would be quite as good as Resident Evil 2 Remake from last year, but it felt like a downgrade from it. I now understand why "NEMESIS" is not displayed on the title, he practily does not appear in the game, except on scripted moments, the ominous presence that made him one of the most terrifying antagonists of the series is not present here, dispite all the technology involved. Is a decent game, but not a RE3 Remake. Too short and linear. I was happy the series got back to its roots on RE7 (wich was great) and RE2 Remake (also great, dispite the cutt offs). But this installment made me divided. The first part of the game was great, and that's it. The design of the Hunters were pretty great and they are awsome. Carlos is awsome, the cinematics are great. The OST is ok, with original tracks remixed. The ties with RE2 were fine. But RE soul is to explore, to backtrack, to solve riddles and puzzles. This is a deal breaker for me, i wont be buying any titles from here on, CAPCOM begun to make great things with RE Engine but it seems they entered the "confort" zone again. I cannot see how people are giving this game 10's, this is nowhere near a perfect game, whilst this also is nowhere near a 0 or 1. I think it's important that this is a Reimagining of the Resident Evil 3 game, not a faithful remake or remaster, this is a reimagining. Both this and RE2's remake, are completely different games, they shouldn't be compared directly with each other. However,I cannot see how people are giving this game 10's, this is nowhere near a perfect game, whilst this also is nowhere near a 0 or 1. I think it's important that this is a Reimagining of the Resident Evil 3 game, not a faithful remake or remaster, this is a reimagining. Both this and RE2's remake, are completely different games, they shouldn't be compared directly with each other. However, it's clear that "MORE" detail was put into the 2nd's remake last year.

RE3 Reimagining is a somewhat faithful attempt at recreating the story of Jill Valentine in RE3 the original. The RE Engine is at full works in this game, with the game showcasing fantastic graphics and a very enjoyable gameplay experience. Unfortunately, while these are separate games, a lot of assets have clearly been reused from last year's RE2 remake, this is clearly evident with zombies, with a lot of zombies being reused from the zombies we mostly encountered in the Police station.

A lot has changed from Re3 original to this reimagining. For starters, Jill and Carlos both have different looks, Jill, compared to her Re1 and Re3 look has a slightly darker complexion and a different outfit from the get-go, however, you can still get the original outfit by purchasing a DLC item. Carlos has a new haircut and a new personality. I think Carlos looks better in the original outfit (again paid DLC), but it's all preference. The new designs I have no issues with, just I prefer their older designs. Unfortunately, some of the best parts of the original RE3 are completely gone, like the clocktower sequence against Nemesis, which has been skimmed over, and the multiple puzzles that were needed to be solved early in the original re3. Enemies like crows, spiders, and even the giant Centipede have completely been removed from the game, and some areas have been removed as well. There were also choices you would make in re3 original that would take you on a different scenario/path that are non-existent in this game.

However, this game does some things right, like the hospital redesign is by far one of the best areas you will visit in the game. There are multiple areas to explore and feels somewhat similar to the RPD from the 2nd game. Hunters are well designed now, they look more menacing and some players are crawling with heaps of them.

Nemesis, unfortunately, is a big issue with this game. Instead of being somewhat unpredictable in the original re3, he now is sequenced based, and only really comes out when you are needing to get to somewhere important. Unfortunately, some of his later game boss fights are some of the most frustrating boss fights in any re game. However, NEMESIS is still a really good addition to this game and looks fantastic, however, after a few hrs you will get tired of his antics and realize, he is more of a nuisance than a threat.

CapCom also missed the mark by not remastering or adding the original RE3 ost as a download, or extra. RE2 has this option, so not being able to play the game with the original ost was extremly disappointing. Overall, the game is still really enjoyable, however, it isn't worth the $89 AUD, or whatever the full price game is worth in your region. If you have already played RE2, I would personally wait until this goes on sale. This was clearly a rushed job, which is a shame, because more time on this game, we could've seen truly something amazing. If you are new to the franchise and looking for a game to pick up, play re2 remakes first, that if we are comparing the two is a far better experience than this reimagining.

This review contains spoilers, click expand to view.

******A PARTIR DAQUI A ANÁLISE CONTERÁ SPOILERS******

Is it as good as RE2 Remake? No. Sadly it is not. Resident Evil 3 is missing the two biggest factors of the Original, Its heart and its soul!
Resident Evil 3 has awesome Graphics, and it almost looks like next gen. But The Villain, Nemesis, is the most annoying villain after the Calypso Twins in Borderlands 3. His Appearances and Fights were predictable! The opening is well done and creepy. They humiliated Jill by changing her iconic outfit. I do liked Carlos' quotes. Verdict; RE3 Remake is disappointing, but it is enjoyable too. I'd say get it for 30 dollars and if you are a super fan get it for 40.

This was the first new release of 2020 I played through (I'll get to Doom Eternal some day) and it was definitely a good one.

Resident Evil 3 is, more or less, all I expected it to be. That's not a bad thing at all, many games fail to even meet the decent expectations that are set for them. Anyway, just like last years Resident Evil 2, it's a third person survival horror game with a short

Resident Evil 3 is, more or less, all I expected it to be. That's not a bad thing at all, many games fail to even meet the decent expectations that are set for them. Anyway, just like last years Resident Evil 2, it's a third person survival horror game with a short campaign but one that encourages you to play through it several times.

This time around, the horror takes a big back seat for the sake of action which is fitting considering the original Resident Evil 3 did the same thing. This has it's pros and cons. While I would say this game is more fun to play with no additions like more frequent action as well as the satisfying dodge move, it's definitely not of a higher quality than Resi 2. I enjoy both very much but for different reasons and I'd say the reasons I enjoy Resi 2 matter just a bit more.

The campaign is stripped down to give us one plotline this time, switching between characters at certain points instead of giving us two different campaigns... or, an inconsistent half assed two different campaigns in the case of the Resi 2 remake. For that very reason, I'm okay with there only being one campaign again. My biggest complaint with Resi 2 was the plot inconsistency between both campaigns, there is no way both campaigns can be canon simultaneously so this game eliminates that issue, even if it takes the easy way out.

The game also felt a bit shorter than Resi 2. I started playing Resident Evil 3 the exact minute it was released, 12 o'clock midnight on April 3rd and I ended up finishing the game by 6:30 in the morning the same day. I totaled in about 5 hours of gameplay. For a first playthrough, I'd say that's short.

The sections where you play as Carlos as opposed to Jill also fell short for me. There's a specific section in the game where you're forced to fight a horde of zombies for a few minutes which felt totally tacked on and out of place, it really really turned me off but it didn't last super long so ultimately, it didn't ruin the whole experience. It just felt so out of place, it only happens one time, (thank god) so it's without a doubt just gonna be remembered as that weird, out of place, forced action sequence as well as the worst part of the game.

Anyway, I still had fun, enough to beat the whole game in one sitting from midnight until dawn. I've never done that for any game launch before and I did not expect this game to be the one I did it with first. The game was much less scary this time around and the story isn't as memorable but if you liked Resi 2 and want some more of that game, here you go.

Let's hope the pandemic of the real world doesn't end up looking like Raccoon City.
I beat this game in April of 2020.

This games combat and visuals are excellent. Some great innovations that improve from the original game. Unfortunately the game felt unfinished and I felt a sense of I've already seen this before. Noticeable downgrade from the original game. Still a fun experience although flawed.

They had a winning formula in RE2:R but decided to digress into action packed zombie film. The last straw being removing the clock tower part of the game which is THE most scary house in the franchise.
Please understand what make your games successful.

It's a good demo for the whole game...but when you can finish it for the first time in 3 hours....They really can't justify the amount of content for the price. Really wish they had expanded the original instead of cutting it.
I think what speaks to how much they phoned this game in is how you run into the same 6 zombie models for the entire game, black woman in shorts, black guy, police

Overall this game could be seen as a missed opportunity to flesh out what was — in 1999 — a quick but quirky followup to the more substantial RE3. But from the insane locations and intriguing characters to the stunning looks and satisfying action, this is a stellar game in its own right, and that can't be ignored.

Parts of the game, such as the opening in Jill’s apartment, look positively cinematic — so textured and atmospheric one can almost imagine that video games will draw near the end of the uncanny valley in our lifetimes. If and when that should occur, I hope that Capcom will have found another horror template than zombies.

After an explosive start, Resident Evil 3 on Xbox One quickly falls into a familiar rhythm. Having a Tyrant hunt you down is now the new norm for Resident Evil, but the most feared of all will always be Nemesis. He quickly disappears into the cutscenes however, without as much of an impact as you would perhaps hope. Thankfully though, there are enough environment and enemy variations crammed into this short experience that you never get a chance to settle down and acquaint yourself with any one enemy type, and as a survival horror game that is exactly how you want to feel.
