You could do worse than Reed 2 on Xbox One if you’re looking to kill an hour or two. However, it’s most likely the price that will have it jump out at you, as whether it’s in the first game or somewhere else, frankly it’s a case of “been there, done that”.

Whether Reed 2 will be your cup of tea ultimately rests on how you feel about near constant death and a high difficulty. Some less than precise controls don’t help matters, but even so I found myself still coming back to try, try, try again. Achievement hunters will no doubt persevere, though it’s probably one of the tougher Ratalaika titles to get that elusive 1000G.

Reed 2 is the Equally as Hard Platforming Sequel to Reed. Do you like a challenge? Reed 2 delivers a challenge and doesn't apologize. You wakeReed 2 is the Equally as Hard Platforming Sequel to Reed. Do you like a challenge? Reed 2 delivers a challenge and doesn't apologize. You wake up to the supercomputer, having failed to reboot. Reed failed in its original mission, and now the final backups have to be delivered to the developer. You will be tasked with conquering 50 Small but tough levels to complete this beast of a tiny platformer. With nothing more than the ability to move and jump, you will come face-to-face with spikes, spinning saws, and many other deadly obstacles as you seek out the cubes to open each door. the Door is usually placed somewhere before the end of the stage causing a bit of backtracking through the obstacles you've already defeated. Visually the game isn't more than it's predecessor, but it's charm hasn't gone away. You still play as a ridiculously adorable cat-like thing that you get to witness horrifically die repeatedly to the endless onslaught of dangers placed in your way. This game may be too much for the casual gamer, but fans of nails hard platforming will find a great and enjoyable little adventure here. Full Review »
