Money is easy to come by, but has almost no value as the player can only buy a few already inexpensive items. This fact also clashes with the main story line, where the player is repeatedly told they have almost reached their goal on money. The story itself is on rails with an admittedly self-aware oafish protagonist who can choose to be searching for redemption or sinking to the depths of depravity.

The game excels most when you are avoiding the storyline or taking it slow and enjoying the environment, Stunning visuals, incredible animations and an attention to detail. It can be easy to get lost in a world that feels alive, but getting lost in the world is probably the best use of your time in this game.

A shallow game. Story only takes horse-riding gun shooting gameplay so far. Good graphics I guess.

RDR2 is very enjoyable and I very much like it. One of the best open world games and the graphics are insane. Also they are lots of things to do such as Bounties, returning wagons and such else. Very fun game 10/10

Overrated. Great story but that's really all it is... a great story in a big ass open world that revolves around a game that feels linear.

Good game, but overrated. Not even in top10. It has severe UI problems. Looks and sounds great but the game is kind of boring. It has a lot of layers to do and that is just not that fun to me. Also the world, even if its beautiful, its empty most of the time. I like this game in short periods and because it has good story and characters, but other than that is overrated.

This is some of the best storytelling in videogames there is but despite all that it does come with it's own flaws and tedious elements that bog the game's pacing.

For the first 4 chapters of the game i was completely immersed in the world and it's story but once chapter 5 arrived, i began to experience a huge disconnect from the story, thankfully it started to pick it's pace up once again towards the last 3 chapters of the game, unfortunately i cannot say the same about the mission design and structure.

Playing missions exactly how Rockstar wants you to play them sucks all the fun, and this is one of the worst parts of the game.
Do anything else but exactly what you're told to? Nope, Mission Failed.
Attempt to find a creative way to sneak around in a stealth mission? Uh uh, Mission Failed.
Try to experiment with the game's mechanics and find interesting and fun solutions that make the game more fun? You fool! Mission Failed.

The linearity of missions becomes repetitive and really frustrating towards the endgame, creative missions become less frequent as you are subjected to shooting segments after shooting segments that it becomes less of a wild west cowboy simulator to a Gears of War/Call of Duty knock-off with broken aiming and a broken cover system that are somehow worst that the original.
For being an open world game, it's linear mission design does not fit in as one that the world starts to feel more like a backdrop to the story campaign rather than a breathing world.

The game's dedication to realism becomes it's own detriment, skinning an animal and seeing the attention to detail on the animations is novel at first but after the 30th time it starts to get annoying as you experience the downtime between the animation and gameplay, aspects like this really started to irritate me as the game progressed further and eventually i wasn't playing the game and the game started to play itself for me because it did everything for me, it aims my weapon automatically at the nearest enemy, it steers my horse for me and it stores my weapons on my horse, i'd prefer if the game at least required you to actually do something freely to not make it as repetitive as it is.

By far the strongest aspect of Red Dead 2 is it's music, the battle themes are filled with action pumping bass and strings, the ambient chill music can make you forget all the tedious parts of the game and just make you focus on the incredible world there is to explore, and all the original songs just don't have a right to slap as hard as they do.

Despite being all the issues i had Red Dead Redemption 2 stands as one of the best gaming experiences I've had in years, with such remarkable moments and greatly written characters that i can recommend this game to most people who are willing to go through all i've said.

meh, not as good as people say it is... Imo its very boring. HUGE map... to ride your horse around... should have been called horse riding simulator. I found very little enjoyment with this game, but I'm happy so many others seem to think this it like the GOAT... it's simply not though... I actually fell asleep one time playing it. At least the game is pretty to look at!

A game that was expected a lot, but still didn't bring much. What sets it apart from other open-world games made so far, is the exceptional photo realism, Rockstar has managed to create the most realistic and colorful world in the entire gaming industry. The whole map lives and breathes. Lots of animals, plants, streams, as if you are in the right world. Fairytale and cinematic!

The whole map lives and breathes. Lots of animals, plants, streams, as if you are in the right world. Fairytale and cinematic! Praise also for the great physics done.
Unfortunately, in addition, the game failed to surpass the previous part. The story is quite slow, and does not provide many choices to the player, nor many different options for passing the mission. Open-world in the gameplay segment looks like a classic scripted game. The controls are very sluggish and inaccurate. The protagonist moves strangely and slowly. There are many side missions and events, e.g. hunting, but all those missions become extremely boring as the end of the main story approaches.

    SRB:
Cela mapa živi i diše. Mnogo životinja, biljaka, potoka, kao da se nalazite u pravom svetu. Bajkovito i sinematično!
Open-world u segmentu gejmpleja izgleda kao klasična skriptovana igra. Kontrole su veoma trome i neprecizne. Protagonista se čudno i usporeno kreče. Postoji mnogo sporednih misija i dešavanja, npr. lov, ali sve te misije postanu izuzetno dosadne, kako se približava kraj main storija.

This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. Red Dead Redemption 2 had the potential to be one of the greatest open world games of all time, but like many modern triple A games, it didn't know when to stop.

The first half of the game is an absolute masterpiece. Every mission is jam packed with inventive design, interesting dialogue and delightfully fun gameplay. The story is beyond engaging, and is brought to life by extremely relatable and likeable characters. The open world is filled with a seemingly endless amount of exploration opportunities, fun side missions and ridiculous detail.

This sounds magnificent, but then the second half starts. Missions are now about going from location to location and being subjected to one shooting gallery after another. The story itself takes a massive dip in quality as all the characters you came to love in the first half either are gone, or feel like they aren't themselves anymore. I guess you could argue that this dip is actually more of a thematic choice, but even if it does make sense, it was hard to stay engaged when most of what I loved about the game was being taken away.

I still recommend Red Dead Redemption 2, however. That first half, the open world and the writing are so good, that you could easily look past the shortcomings of the second half.

As great as it is terrible. Great story and ideas, but the tediousness often ruins gameplay. If all I do is push a direction button or hold the A button, then it's not making me feel like I'm interacting, I feel like I'm being tortured. Just because my character is undergoing hardship doesn't mean I have to. I've just turned it off several times because it wasn't fun at all. Also, doesn'tAs great as it is terrible. Very overrated. I pre-ordered it for both myself and my brother and neither of us play it. It's more of a cowboy simulator than a game lol. It's very slow and it controls you too much. That fact that you're forced to walk so often, you loot so slow, you can't complete missions in creative ways, etc.

It's not bad, and graphically it's incredible, but it's simply not very fun.

This beautiful yet boring game Is nothing really revolutionary. Stale, repetitive missions, weak, spaghetti like main plot, dull characters and clunky rockstarlike gun play and controls.
I'm really disappointed because visually this game is stunning but just bad

While the game is fun in the open world, the story is sometimes really boring, repetitive and with lots of characters. I really liked playing the open world roleplaying. Also this game is too realistic, at points of stupidness, i get you want to show your engine, but i waste them into dumb **** like the horse. In general it is fun, but not enough to ride the horse for 60 hours

Rockstar doesn’t know whether is wants to be an open world game or a linear game that holds your hand.
A good portion of the game is nothing but horse riding.

Summary: It had a lot of potential, but unfortunately it didn’t use that potential, and the game feels stretched out.

It doesn’t matter if you are gamer, a human being, or an alien from another planet; Red Dead Redemption 2 is a title that you just can’t miss. The bar set by RDR2 is so high that even Rockstar itself will probably have a hard time raising it. One of the best releases in the history of digital entertainment.

While it has some notable but minor flaws, it's hard to argue that Red Dead Redemption 2 is not a masterpiece. The end result of the meticulous detail, wonderful writing and stunning looks is an open world that sets a new bar for believability, and a time and place I can't stop thinking about or wanting to be a part of.
