In the end, Red Bow on Xbox One is a game worth supporting. It’s a carefully crafted throwback with excellent writing and plenty of achievements to earn.

Red Bow makes some good points but unfortunately lacks in the horror side of things. With some easy achievements to go for, the hunters out there will no doubt get more out of it, but others may not find as much worth in a playthrough.

Stranga Games brings us another Dark, and forboding 2D adventure. You are Roh, home alone, and awake in the middle of the night. Unsure if you're dreaming of not you decide to go outside, and find you aren't where you expected to be. The game plays and feels a lot like Stranga's other title Just Ignore Them. It's not easy to portray horror with 2D pixel art, but with disturbing themes, and imagery, Red Bow does well. Gameplay is searching for items, and using them in the right place at the right time, kind of like a point and click, solving all the puzzles from your inventory. The game contains a few red herrings, one of which had me lost for a good bit. Grammatical errors and misspellings pop up once and a while in the text, but nothing that detracts from the game or story. Including wandering aimlessly for a while, it took me just under two hours to beat the game. Red Bow may not be for everyone, especially younger players as the game touches on some dark stuff. This darkness is where Red Bow shines, keeping the air tense and you needing to find out why. I enjoyed my time on Red Bow, and fans of Inventory Puzzle type game or those who enjoy a darker theme, Red Bow has you covered! Full Review »
