    Ultimately, if you are at all interested in puzzle games – particularly one that is fun as hell with two or more players – then Puyo Puyo Tetris should appeal to you. It is a fantastic game that is well worth importing – even if, like me, you have not done so in quite a long time.

    Puyo Puyo Tetris has all the addictive goodness of Puyo Puyo and Tetris. That alone is is enough to grab any puzzle gamers attention, with thePuyo Puyo Tetris has all the addictive goodness of Puyo Puyo and Tetris. That alone is is enough to grab any puzzle gamers attention, with the many different game modes and variations of those two games, both mixing them together and keeping them apart also, means an engaging and varied block-dropping experience to enjoy. The Adventure mode is a welcome tour of all of the different ways to play. You'll collect credits through all of your games, and build up several thousand as you play through Adventure Mode. These can be used to buy new Puyo Puyo and Tetris skins, turning Puyos and Tetriminoes into sketches, pixel art, and other variations of the default art. You can also unlock alternate voice packs for the characters you pick, which adds more personality and customization to your matches. If playing against the AI, family or friends for couch co-op up to four players can participate via split-screen, and even better you can also play online for endless hours of enjoyment and competition. All of the Multiplayer Arcade game modes are available for casual play online, along with ranked matches in versus mode. If you aren't really, really good at Puyo Puyo or Tetris, stay with the casual online play as us puzzle masters are out to battle and the lesser skilled will not fair well in these bouts.
    As touched on earlier the adventure mode in Puyo Puyo Tetris has a lengthy adventure that covers 100 stages of Puyo Puyo and Tetris, running the full gamut of the different game modes with different goals and levels of AI opponents. It even has a story, with voiced dialogue and visual novel-like art showing different pairs of characters talking to each other against a background. It's lighthearted and easy to completely ignore, in the end were here to enjoy what's here a fantastic puzzle game for mega fans and newcomers alike there's a lot here for everyone to enjoy and for this reason I highly recommend Puyo Puyo Tetris, which is a truly excellent game.    … Full Review »
