The presentation side of the game definitely has a uniqueness to it and both the visuals and sound design combine together really well. When in full flow the gameplay is very fun and action-packed and if played in short bursts it does a good job of keeping you interested. Each mission features a bit of a story and I must admit that I enjoyed these sequences because there’s plenty of humour present and the humour is actually funny at times. The controls feel smooth and responsive throughout your time with the game and this does keep the frustration levels down quite a bit. Technically the game suffers with a few issues every now and then and these issues can be annoying. When played for long periods you realise quite quickly that the gameplay doesn’t have much depth to it and that does mean things do become repetitive. More variety in terms of the enemies and the moves you can do to defeat these enemies would’ve been nice. The idea of a pizza delivering robot is absolutely insane and ideas like this make me realise why I love indie game’s so much because I love a game that thinks outside the box. Granted Pizza Titan Ultra is far from perfect and it does have a few shortcomings but I was prepared to look past these imperfections because it features a lot of uniqueness. This uniqueness comes in the form of some interesting art style and sound design and when you combine that with the wacky and sometimes chaotic gameplay you really do have a fun and enjoyable time. To get these fun and enjoyable moments I would recommend that you play the game in short bursts though because when played for long periods you do notice a lack of depth and some technical issues present in the gameplay. Thankfully though the little snippets of dialogue present do make me look past these issues and I was also pleased that the controls held up well throughout my time with the game. This then means that Pizza Titan Ultra does enough to get a thumbs up from me and if you’re a person who likes trying out something different when it comes to game’s then this game will definitely tick a few boxes for you. Despite the issues, Breakfall knows what Pizza Titan Ultra is, and for that it’s a better game. At roughly 5 hours to completion, it never gets old, supplying enough variety to keep you entertained. Priced at £9.99/$11.99, it is worth your time if you’re looking to spend an evening with a unique experience.

No, it’s not an amazing new franchise you’ll desire more of. You will, however, enjoy what you experience. There’s a happy medium of enjoyment without becoming something you’ll want to play all the time. If you’re looking for something creative that doesn’t take itself too seriously, then maybe Pizza Titan Ultra is something you can have fun with but not take too seriously.
