ABSOLUTELY LOOOOOOOVE BEHEMOTH GAMES and this is RIGHT UP THERE with Battleblock Theater and Castle Crashers. Their story telling brings out the inner child in everyone and more importantly their focus on all of their existing games and continuing to make them better, even if it's a tweak here or a new mask there just to reward their ongoing players. THEY ROCK! YEEEEEEEAAAAAH!

This game is just amazing, and is executed amazingly, with alot of humor and strategy slapped on there, and is a challenge, that many games struggle to make.

As my very first turn-based strategy game, I had very few doubts of this genre coming from a Behemoth game. I expected everything to be quirky, colorful, funny, and give me something I would never expect before. It did exactly that. The story was very funny, relatable, and a funny villain as well. I never thought a game in a genre I never played before would be so captivating and so fun to play, which is a surprise for me. Pit People has a fun premise backed up with amazing customization features, engaging combat system, and funny characters. It is one of the best games of 2018 imo. If you've never heard of this game or seen it before, please try it out and play it because it deserves a lot of recognition and praise for The Behemoth's take on the genre. Expand

The pit people early access shows great promise, with comical quests, and characters as well as interesting locations. You will travel from a land of cupcakes and gingerbread houses to the domain of a necromancer, to a volcano ready to erupt. As for the game play: you move your team of up to 6 fighters on hexagonal tiles, and use environment to your advantage the best you can. After the intro you will move your party across the map until you reach the main town, and the world is opened up for you to explore. You can fight enemies in PVE or in PVP, in the arena in town or on the world map. I have a had a very fun time playing this game despite some bugs in PVP, which prevent me from giving it the full score of 10, however I have no doubt these problems will soon be fixed! Expand

Still at Early Acess on Xbox One, Pit People is a great promisse of indie SRPG, with a lot of humor, collorfull graphics and a simple but funny gameplay. The game can offer you a lot of customization and battles, no matter you have still a little piece of the Story available. The sidequests, cooperative or vs matches can make you stand a lot playing it.

My 7 year old son and I love this game. It's great to play couch co-op battles. If you are OK with cartoon violence and assertions e.g. "My big butt makes big poops," this is a great family game and a good introduction to turn-based strategy and tactics.

I like the easy-ish difficulty -- there is an "insane mode" for those who want a challenge.

I’m a massive fan of the preview program on Xbox One because you can see game’s improve over time and have a say in certain things. Pit People is in my opinion the best game that’s been in the preview program so far and it was an absolute joy watching the game grow and improve over the months. If you like fun and addictive gameplay then look no further than Pit People. Each mechanic works flawlessly and it’s a game that can be enjoyed immensely on your own and with friends. Playing on your own is absolutely brilliant but where this game truly shines is when played in co-op and everybody I’ve played with has absolutely loved it and they didn’t want it to end. Thankfully the game doesn’t end for quite a while and in terms of content this game has more than enough to keep you satisfied. There are an abundance of unlockables for you to get and this means the replay value in the game is sky high. You would think playing the game for a number of hours would make you become bored but that’s not the case. The main reason why you don’t become bored is because of the amount of variety that’s dotted throughout the game, and that variety is most noticeable in the quests that you undertake. The quests in the game get better and better and to say that I enjoyed the adventure would be a massive understatement. The adventure is further enhanced by a fantastic story which is packed full of humour and wonderful characters, and the best thing is that the humour was actually funny and had me chuckling away multiple times. In terms of problems with the game I only have one gripe and that is minor to say the least. The gripe I have is that I would have liked a little more depth when it came to the strategy side of the game, but like I said it really is a minor problem. The presentation side of the game is absolutely stunning. Visually the art style is packed to the rafters with charm and the accompanying music makes the game even more enjoyable, which is great. At the end of the day Pit People is absolutely perfect from start to finish and without a doubt it’s one of my most favourite games I’ve ever played. If like me you’ve had it since it was in the preview program then you will know that the developers have listened to us which has culminated in an unforgettable experience. If you were thinking of getting Pit People and you haven’t quite got around to getting it then I fully recommend you get it, trust me you won’t regret it. Expand

Once again, Behemoth delivers a game with a hilarious commentary, stunning visuals, and fresh game play mechanics. The game is extremely fun and addicting. it is one of those games that you play and then many hours later you realize that its 5AM and you have to be awake in three hours for work. it is extremely addictive and hard to put down.

I must applaud the studio, because this game could have been a micro-transaction nightmare, but all the loot must be earned through game-play, and there is a ton of loot. It is AAA quality for indie price. The story is hilarious and gibberish the character's speak never fails to make me laugh. Do not let the aesthetic fool you though, this game can be brutal at times. If you don't believe me, play on permadeath mode.

My only gripe is that i wish you could have more than two friends on the same team, but co-op is otherwise solid and challenging.

You have to like the humor, what I did only in some parts. The narrator is funny but annoying the same time. The graphics are between nice comic graphic and ugly as hell. The story... I don't know.
But most of all: The gameplay is boring.

It may not deliver the same level of precision and polish exhibited in other titles in the genre, yet its imperfections seem to add to its charm. [Issue#199, p.83]

With Pit People, Behemoth tried something new and was only partially successful. It has excellent art design, unique world-building and some truly funny moments, but the problems with its combat and structure hinder what could be a hit. Understandably, the game’s weakest parts are those that the studio doesn’t have much experience with.

Pit People is a must-have game for its humour alone. Even though its gameplay doesn't live up to many other SRPGs, the fact that you'll be laughing as you cooperate with a friend makes it one of the most enjoyable and memorable entries in the genre.
