    Pirates of First Star's visuals and music in this game are both fantastic and unique, and yet each is held back by a single thing that I found myself unable to let go of. Visually, Pirates of First Star‘s stop-motion, claymation aesthetic gives it a look like no other, with the village of characters looking a bit like knockoff Muppets with googly eyes. The fire, water, and explosionPirates of First Star's visuals and music in this game are both fantastic and unique, and yet each is held back by a single thing that I found myself unable to let go of. Visually, Pirates of First Star‘s stop-motion, claymation aesthetic gives it a look like no other, with the village of characters looking a bit like knockoff Muppets with googly eyes. The fire, water, and explosion effects look fantastic, as well, which is praiseworthy considering that this is where most indie devs stumble. Every character looks a little too similar, however, and I found myself struggling to remember which specific features differentiated one orange blob from another as characters reappeared in the story for the first time since their introductions. Pirates of First Star‘s music is similarly great, with the music that plays during the arcade machine’s levels being a highlight. I’m also fond of the track that plays during a minigame where you chase children around. The only downsides to the soundtrack are that you’ll be hearing the main “wandering around” music a lot, and it’s not quite as good as the really good tracks. There’s also no music when you’re hanging around in your garden, and silence doesn’t make all of that mandatory gardening any more enjoyable. The visuals and music are very impressive for the most part, though. Overall is an ok game but nothing fantastic for the Xbox One.… Expand

    Quite a terrible game, I’m not a fan of the narrative nor the gameplay in general, it actually made me sick, I did in fact have to see a priest and a doctor after playing this joke of a game to help heal and bless my eyesight!
