WASTE OF TIME. The directional arrows on the road are sooooo stupid. Many times I didn't see the directional arrows on the road (coz they suck) and went in a wrong road, many competitor racers followed me coz they didn't see those stupid arrows too! LITERALLY NO STORY! NO OFFLINE MODE. STUPID TYPICAL EA GAME.

However previous nfs veterans will notice quirks with the handling / placement of obstacles that kill gameplay; even bits ripped directly from other nfs games that dont fit in with this reboot. Unlike the older need for speed games, this one lacks creativity and originality, lots of nfs core components are missing.

As for the graphics, they look brilliant at first glance. Car custimation and skin unlocks are included. For custom cars, skins and more get an old laptop and install nfs underground. Customisation is heavally sensored on this reboot.
Yet there is more, when you look closer at this reboot you will notice tings like bloom being overused, plus the fade to colour from bloom and other effects like streetlights, glare and other effects dosnt seam match up. The fmv clips that are ment to create storylines also dosnt work for this instance of nfs. I am only scratching the surface on mistakes made on visuals.....

One of the reasons why people liked the previous nfs games was the music and sound effects. Not sure what has happened with this reboot but the song selection is the worst in the series. Even some of the sound effects dont match up and feels a bit like a 80s out of sync soundstage from Japan, who may have done a better job at the films and sound if given the chance.

Avoid this, get an old laptop, tablet, or even a desktop pc and play one of the old Need for Speed games.
The reboot is a polished turd thats oversensored. Voice chat isnt used by anyone. Nobody chats at all, getting players to do races is a problem, bots will always accept races though. Though Its like all the players are robots, strange indeed? You may also notice race challenges from invisable players also.
Someone at EA keeps making mistakes though because at one point there was a nfs online that worked on a brouser web page that was shockingly better than this reboot.

Thing, that NFS game have been lacking for a long time. The grim dark Ventura Bay city is just a perfect setting for a game about street racing. And is also breathtaking, with lot of things to explore. Various URBEX spots, Vistas and much more! The story contains real people/racers (Ken Block, Magnus Walker, Akira Nakai), which pulls you into the story, as you conquer the local streets. It features one of the best paint editors I've seen in a long time in a videogame. There are three things to adress: Handling of the cars, which is clumsy at times, but overall fine, Cheesy cutscenes, which do not personally bother me, but I can see why it makes some people angry and the weird brutal rubber banding system. But still, i will rate this game a 10, EA fixed everything the community asked for. People asked for Manual? Boom it is here! Drag races? Boom! And a lot of FREE DLC's made me love this game. So if you ever happen to find yourself in Ventura Bay, drive towards the corner between Harbor View and Apollo heights, you will witness the most picturesque vista I've ever seen in any videogame whatsoever. This is actually my first Need for Speed game. I got it for the story, racing, and cop chases. I enjoyed the racing a lot, though it is realistic graphics wise, the racing is in the middle of the realistic scale. The story was awkward and didn't feel like a story. The cop chases are very easy to escape from the cops, but actually is still very fun.

The graphics are great, but the framerate needs some serious work, like most of the game.

Then you have the cringeworthy, downright pathetic and the ''actors'' who perform these scenes are awful.

The sound design is good, but the soundtrack is awful.

Overall,Need For Speed 2015 is an awful game that has made an embarrassment of this franchise.

However there are minor fps drops which are really not as impactful and the game is indeed online but there is not much issues.

The game uses FMV (Full Motion Video) for the Cutscenes even though they are corny but they were never meant to be serious. You can sometimes understand what there intentions are. The FMV Cutscenes are also meant to be for mission expansion.

A.I. rubber banding is indeed involved with the game. The A.I. cars meant to keep up at your speed so if you want to play with a crappy Volvo, you may possibly win a race.

Missions are straight forward. Sprints, Circuits, Time Trials, Drift Trials, Drift Races, Gymkhanas.

The game is online and I am somewhat disappointed since sometimes my internet just can't handle it.

Eddie is in the game as well and you can earn his car for free if you beat him. Manual transmission is back and even though I dont use it, I'm pretty sure would love to use it.

Customization is outstanding. You can customize the front bumpers, back bumpers, body kits, side skirts, rims, tire treads, exhaust tips, bonnet hoods, splitters, trunk lids, diffusers, front fenders, back fenders, headlights, backlights, window tint, color, vinyls, preset wraps, and soon to come "neon lights".
Customization is the most realistic kind, only with aftermarket brands. Some cars have lots of customization, some have little, and a little have not at all. There are 53 cars in the game but the objective of the cars is perfecting not collecting. The cars also are built inside the game. Your customized car can be in the cutscene.

The career is split into 5 ways to play. Speed, Style, Build, Crew, Outlaw. The main elements in Need For Speed. With real life icons and actors who look up to these people.

Police chases are not as aggressive as what was in NFS Rivals but more fairer, less buggy and more playable. Roadblocks, spike strips, and the actual cruisers feel more realistic and fun. Some roadblock slow you down but you still pass them, while roadblocks made with cement blocks and rhino units are impossible to pass unless you find an extra road. The pursuit levels come into 5 levels. You can simply pay a fine and get the pursuit over with but that's not as fun. You need to pester them enough in order to get on with the pursuit. While starting in a pursuit, you are chased by 1 cop, but overtime you will be chased by a few more. The largest amount I've seen was 7 and trust me cops aren't as easy to get ride of at a decently customized ride. Unlike other games where is easy to destroy some low level cars, trying to do that is almost impossible. Just don't try to take 'em out you may get busted.

    Pros:
    Surreal Graphics
    Awesome racing
    Simple story line
Easy to learn hard to master
    The ultimate return
    Amazing sounds

To be honest here, Need for Speed (2015) was a let down. I thought based on the trailer that it would redefine the Need for Speed series and bring that OG Need for Speed Underground gameplay style back, but with modern graphics. But as always, EA pretty much disappoints us.

The gameplay aesthetic is just horrible. Any car you drive, the car just drifts. Why? I just want to race! Literally, every turn you make the car just slides. Any car you drive also mostly feels like you are driving a cement truck, it’s that horrible and slow (kinda like in Watch Dogs 1). Whoever in the studio designed the AI in this game was retarded. If you are driving in the fastest Lamborghini in the game, then you race the AI in a 240sx, that car you are racing should NOT be able to catch up with you. Who designed the AI? Back to gameplay aesthetic, if you trying to customize your car, some cars are not granted that ability to customize. You just have to leave them bare-bone stock. Why didn’t the designer of aspect put more time into this? When it comes to gameplay, yet again, there is another flaw. You can’t play Offline, the only thing to do it free drive where 7+ other players in a lobby take part in the session and races (if you invite them to the single player missions). Last but not least, the movie like cutscenes with the cliche voice acting. This was pretty horrible as well, the main character you play as doesn't even talk so these other actors in these cutscenes. They literally are just talking to themselves, fist bumping and shaking hands with some invisible actor.

The map overall is decently throughout, detailed and the graphics are on par with other popular racing titles. But why is it, when you play Need for Speed (2015) it’s always dark out? The only time it is light out is when a sunset is happening. Why? Who the hell in the studio came up with this bright idea? What the **** Could the game not handle the sun?

    Cons:
    - Cars drift every turn
    - Cars feel heavy and slow
    - AI is almost unbeatable
    - Not a lot of customization
    - No Offline mode
    - Horrible actors/cast
    - It’s always dark out, no sunlight.

This is just a bare minimum of ‘some’ of the problems in this actual game after me playing the game for some amount of hours. The game does get ‘some’ points where how detailed everything is and the social aspect of the game. But overall, it could have been a great game, but someone in the studio dragged this game into the ground.

The Frostbite engine gives it a beautiful appearancem, but it honestly never really goes anywhere exceptional as the atmosphere is deadlocked in essentially one time of day. Cars? Plenty and they really are nice. Handling? It feels like a toy. There is no fluidity and amounts to nothing more than a simple arcade racer. Who ever gave this game 10 out of 10 either works for the developer or is being paid by them. They clearly haven't played the game for longer than 5 minutes. On first appearance, the game looks amazing; Frostbite engine really is glorious and credit where credit is due, the game looks fantastic. I'm eager to see more games as pretty as NFS. But why is it only at night time?

However, when it comes to game play, this is one of the most poorly executed racing games I've ever seen.

I realise its an arcade game; that's why I play NFS but the handling is just plain terrible - it barely feels like you have any control of the car. It often spears off the road in a straight line because for some reason the game has decided you're not allowed to steer your car. This isn't helpful.

The racing line they give you is just ridiculous. It's pretty much worthless as it zigzags across the road for no apparent reason (even when the road is straight), and will often lead you directly into a median strip or barrier only to change direction at the last nanosecond leaving you travelling into a concrete wall at 350km/h.

Map design is bad... having concrete walls and barriers jutting out from the road in random places doesn't make the game fun or 'challenging'... it just makes it frustrating and the opposite of fun.

You have no option for a manual transmission... yes I'm serious.. you have no option to drive a manual in a racing car game. w...t...f

Interface is ok, but a little tedious scrolling around a map to find all your events. Pretty annoying not being ab0le to see what side attractions are complete and which aren't so you end up going to the same ones over and over.

    Music is good.

The included car culture (Speedhunters etc) and iconic personalities (Akira Nakai, Ken block etc) was a very nice touch.

Car customisation is pretty cool. but you don't get anywhere near enough money or garage slots to buy all the cars which makes you feel like you're missing out on a load of the game?

I even enjoyed the cheesy video cut scenes; it was a nice change from the usual terrible rendered characters we get now adays. Gave me memories of the first need for speed on 3DO!

And finally, why is requiring a constant internet connection even a thing.. its absurd. Can't wait to see what happens when the servers are taken offline... will it still be playable?

I really wanted to like this game but the more I played it, and the faster the cars went, the more frustrating things became. At least when cars were slow they were semi-controllable. I play NFS because it's supposed to be fun. This installment was not fun... If i had to describe it in one word it would probably be 'frustrating' or maybe 'tedious'.

If you can pick it up cheap, give it ago but don't pay full price for this pretty average game. The ONLY reason it even managed to get a 5 on my rating was because of the beautiful graphics.

Fingers crossed the next NFS has a better driving engine than this.

The selection of cars is quite big to so any kind of car fan should be able to find a car he or she likes. Each car also handles slightly different but with the upgrade system in the game you are able to tweak a car to your preferences. The process of choosing the car you wanted to build up, saving up the money and then upgrading was one of the most enjoyable parts of the game. Then once you start racing with said car the game really starts coming together. Seeing your creation in motion is awesome and usually inspires you to go buy another car and do it all over And you will need to in the game. It has multiple types of races from Circuit,Sprint,Drift,Drift Train and so much more, So it can be hard trying to build one car that can do it all. The Driving in NFS is defiantly something more related to a arcade racing game but is still enjoyable. Fans of more realistic driving games may find it hard at first to adjust. The streets you race on seem to always be wet or it's raining so drifting and sliding around cars and corners is easy and fun buy at times in the wrong car or turn things become difficult. Later in the game you can run into some extremely uneven races and challenges that may become frustrating and sadly trying to "Restart" A race just makes you reload to before the race start and then load the race all over again, This becomes Extremely frustrating after only a few times and is a major oversight. The story to the game isn't very interesting and is told thought live action cinematics like previous games and sadly almost every-time the actors are horrible and it's no different this time around. The game also forces you to always be online so you can't pause the game and if you ever lose internet in the middle of a race...well to bad.

Great car selection, beautiful graphics, easy to get into hard to put down but that's when your actually racing. My gripes are that the music playlist is bad, I turned it off immediately but that's coming from someone who does not care for hip-hop or dubstep. Also the "story" is not all that interesting...like a bad wannabe Fast and Furious. I didn't like ANY of the characters, one in particular I think his name was Spike. I wanted to gouge my eyes out when he would show up. Anyway, good game def worth picking up. You will waste some hours racing or in the garage fine tuning your car to your personal preference. Expand

Despite cringe-worthy storylines and curious decisions to require a constant internet connection, Need For Speed succeeds for several reasons. Most importantly, the racing is a blast. A wide variety of styles are available, and the ability to quickly adapt and win makes the adventure more than worthwhile. It’s beside the point that Need For Speed doesn’t compare with big-time simulation racers like Forza or Gran Turismo; instead of chasing half-second improvements based on real-world tracks, Need For Speed celebrates driving like a maniac in a big world with no reality to concern yourself with.

Long story short, Forza’s customization is more professional but harder to use, while Need For Speed’s customization lacks in areas and it more suitable for people with less knowledge on cars.

A good reboot for the series, with some very nice ideas but with a bit too many technical issues. It looks more like an unfinished job, something that could have used some more development time.
