NBA Live 14 is a disappointment coming from an NBA Live 10 fan. The best part of the game is clearly the dribble mechanics. You can tell that the developers spent a lot of time in that area to build a solid foundation. However, passing and rebounding is frustrating.

Passing is not as fluid as it should be and it makes fast breaks in the game almost impossible to pull off. User/AI rebounding is difficult. Some plays don't even jump when you hit the "Y" button and not many of the AI box out.

NBA Live 14 does have a lot of nice features with dynasty mode, Ultimate Team mode and NBA Live seasons. However, online play was not as fluid as I expected after playing other EA SPORTS games like Madden and Need for Speed on Xbox One. I played a couple of games that were laggy and threw off the shooting mechanics. Also, I was very disappointing that Online Team Play was left out of this years game. I hope that makes a return in Live 15.

Overall, the game isn't as enjoyable as I thought it would be. However, the developers did say they have the ability to patch in new animations and tweak the graphics with patches. I am interested to see how the game progresses and improves down the line.

worst game i've ever played and i've played alot of **** 0 out of 10. I mean what were they thinking? Did they think people were gonna think highly of this crap??? Why don't they get some programming lessons from their rivals 2k. Another piece of crap shat out by EA. I recommend buying 2k14 this game is not worth 60 bucks

It amazes me that a company would charge 60 dollars knowing their game was at this quality. As a decent human being, at least discount the damn thing from the start. I lost hope in NBA Live with this one.

I was impatient for the release of this game,
After the first minutes of play I decided to return it. It felt like I was playing a ps2 game, with some ps3 graphics and a very few ps4 details, this is a lack of respect to nba live fans.
AI was weird, some player running continuously out of the field, pg playing as PF and C playing as SF or PG, there was a mess over there. This game

This game needs a couple of years of development in order to reach a decent level.
Comparing with 2k14, well there´s no comparison. No need to continue with this.. I just hope nba live survives so it can give us a good nextgen game in a couple of years, until then 2k seems untouchable

Not a great game but I didn't feel like it was that bad either. I waited to review this once I really played alot of it. I was hoping for the same that fifa and madden has, but got 2k14 with less legends. Fifa and madden have brought tons of gamers and money to them with ultimate team, why they didn't put the effort into it I just don't understand. Glad to see nba live back, but it needs to take a big step with the next one or could end up being gone in the future. Expand

This game isn't good. It's a basketball game. It has the basic modes that 2k has had for a very long time. It has franchise mode where you can take over the franchise. It has my player mode where you create a super star. It has season modes, fantasy team modes where you earn cards and all the other normal modes madden and 2k have.

The Graphics are poor. That's been said over and

The Graphics are poor. That's been said over and over again. But what hasn't been said is the acting. I love Jeff Van Gundy as an announcer, but man. The dude can't act at all. He sounds ridiculous in this game. They just need to record some of his normal announcing and it would be loads better.

The game mechanics are different than 2k, but they are fine for the most part. It's hard to snap to a player down low and fight in the post defensively. There are tons of bugs, especially when setting picks. I was a 7' 2' Center that weighed 280 pounds, went up to set a screen for Burke in the Under Armor game where you see where you get drafted, I was set in stone for the pick and I watched the other PG slide me all over the court. It was actually pretty funny, but a huge bug. They also walk through you mysteriously as you are trying to pick them. They also walk through you when you are trying to box out for a rebound.

For a simulation game this game just isn't good, but you can actually play it. 2k14's servers flat out don't work and I haven't been able to play a game for VC since the first week of release. So, despite all it's flaws, I have to rank this one higher because I can actually play.

All in all, this game is bad, go out and shoot hoops, you'll be happier than trying to play this years basketball games.

This is some shallow garbage. Online play, graphics, gameplay, everything just was not there. Even if the game was transitioning to the PS4/XONE series, the game still looked awful in every way. I can’t believe Live 10 fans waiting 4 years, just for waiting for this garbage!

Don’t get me wrong, it was better than NBA Elite 11 and 12, but REALLY? It took 4 years to release such a barebones game. See, Elite 11 was so bad the games release was delayed and then cancelled. This would’ve been the worst NBA Live game if it had the same animations as 11. The Animations still suck, but at least they are better.

Just stick with Live 18 and 19. They are actually decent games.

Disappointing on almost every level, EA needs to seriously rethink NBA Live if it ever wants to compete with the NBA 2K series.

EA's NBA title comeback turned out to be a real disappointment, due to a dated gameplay system and old-gen graphics. We'd save the excellent ESPN integration and the great play modes choice, but it isn't enough to make it a good basketball game.
