Monster Train is a strategic rogue-like deck building game with a twist. Set on a train to hell, you’ll use tactical decision making to defend multiple vertical battlegrounds. The effects of the combo's you can make and the story line and being on the bad side is a nice change and makes it seem an extra special difference in a way for me. As long as there are no extra effects or modes each turn you draw a card and you have a mana to play them according to your strategy your minions or cards attacks to your enemies and you trying to prevent them reach to your core. This located on the fourth floor and each round the enemies you couldn't kill moves up a floor .There's tons of cards you can discover and a plenty of game modes. You can also challenge online players real time like a line race (who completes it first) etc. When I first started playing Monster Train It took me couple days to get used to it, but after that it becomes something more than just something to play it became a game i wanted to play on my Xbox. If Youre a card games fan like me You cant go wrong with monster train. It offers tons of options, probably most complex deck builder created to this date. Definitely recommended, hundreds of hours of great gameplay. One of the best along with Slay the Spire and Castle of Morihisa.

This is an excellent coard/board game with lots of choice, variation and strategy. If you're a fan of Slay of Spire, you will love this. There's just so many combinations of cards and strategies and difficulties, it's unlikely you will explore it all in the first 100 hours. It's very addicting, especially since there's lots to unlock. It is an immensely satisfying game when you win.

This is one of if not the best card video game I have ever played. If you liked Slay the Spire then you will love this as it is a more strategic game with a focus on multiple units each with their own attack and use. I can't give it a ten however because there is no variety in the enemy attacks as they will just attack and maybe apply a debuff but other then that this is the best card gameThis is one of if not the best card video game I have ever played. A good game similar to Slay the Spire that also incorporates creatures and some elements of tower defense, as you fill each room with defenders to face the gauntlet of invading monsters. There's a decent amount of choice in decks as you can pair various factions, each with their own theme. It's fun, but there isn't much variety in enemies or bosses. After around 100 hours of playing monster train I can comfortably say that it is the best rouge lite deck builder that I have ever player (yes even better than slay the spire). What at first might seem like a strange concept combining a deck builder with rouge lite elements which also include tower defence mechanics, the three different genres all blend into one brilliant game.

There is plenty to keep you going with several unique clans whom all play very different from one another and will make you constantly think on your toes. This is a brilliant game and I cannot recommend this enough. It’s also on game pass so give it a try!

Excellent deck build mechanic! Surprisingly addictive!

Would give it a 9+ but it Needs more multiplayer options to run a custom or private lobby (monster run with friends in tow)

It’s a great game for relaxing your twitch reflexes and exercising your strategy skills.

It says a lot about a game when writing its review makes us want to close the laptop, boot up the Xbox and return to play it. So it is with Monster Train on Xbox, which chucks out a lot of Slay the Spire’s baggage to create a ride that’s more breakneck and exhilarating. Monster Train is more-ish to the extreme, and we’d worry about our social lives, if there was any social life to be had right now.
