Minesweeper Genius is easy to pick up and play. The play style means anybody can get involved and the end goal never changes so you don’t get bogged down by details. The play style means anybody can get involved and the end goal never changes so you don’t get bogged down by details. In terms of content there is a solid amount of levels and variety and when you factor in the price of the game you get great value for your money. I found the game to be very addictive and that was mainly because they did a good job of keeping the frustration level away fro you can enjoy the game. There are some strategy elements involved and when you complete a level you were stuck on these elements make the completion feel rewarding. I really enjoy how the game eases you in gently and it was nice to have the different game mechanics explained properly. The presentation side of the game is a little on the basic side (as are most minesweeper games) and nothing stands out in the visuals and sound design categories but both are well done. The game is addictive, I do recommend that you play the game in short sessions if you are a newcomer, any minesweeper fan will be playing non stop. Minesweeper is a game most people have played at least once in their life, and most of you enjoyed it. I’m certainly a fan of it so as soon as I saw that the game Minesweeper Genius was making its way to the Xbox One I was eager to get to grips with it. Thankfully it didn’t disappoint either and without a doubt it has an addictive side to it meaning I returned back to the game time and time again even if it did get a little repetetive after a while. Anybody can enjoy this game as well because it features an easy to pick up and play style and in my opinion the game has got the perfect balance of being fun and challenging at the same time which in turn means you don’t get very frustrated that often. In terms of content there is a generous amount for you to sink your teeth into and you definitely get great value for your money. There isn’t a great deal wrong with the content either and my only gripe is that the presentation side of the game could’ve stood out a little more. At the end of the day then when you add up all of the good things Minesweeper Genius has going for it recommending this game is of course very easy and I’m sure fans of puzzle game’s will thoroughly enjoy this. If it’s a value for money puzzler you’re after then Minesweeper Genius on Xbox One ticks a hell of a lot of boxes. There are tons of levels that’ll see you racking your brain in the best possible way, it’s easy to grasp the concept, and greatly rewarding to solve all of the problems in your path. I think even those who don’t usually enjoy minesweeper may find this to be fun, thanks mainly to the Sudoku elements.

Whilst it would have benefited from some variation as far as its visual design is concerned, it’s easy to like Minesweeper Genius for its relatively straightforward and challenging structure. The game takes the classic Minesweeper formula and introduces some simple yet effective mechanics, which goes hand in glove with its randomly generated content. The end result makes for an experience that’s both fun and gratifying throughout.
