    In Metagal I enjoyed the mega man vibe and level presentation within the game because there’s variety to keep things fun all the way through, and the checkpoints have been placed well to keep frustration to a minimum. From the beginning Metagal gives you an instant Mega Man feel and impersonation is the biggest form of flattery when talking about a mega franchise in Mega Man whenIn Metagal I enjoyed the mega man vibe and level presentation within the game because there’s variety to keep things fun all the way through, and the checkpoints have been placed well to keep frustration to a minimum. From the beginning Metagal gives you an instant Mega Man feel and impersonation is the biggest form of flattery when talking about a mega franchise in Mega Man when mentioning Metagal. I thoroughly enjoyed the nostalgic presentation of the game, in both the visual and sound design. The gameplay was fun and rewarding and gives you more than enough reason to carry on through your adventure. The difficulty can be a little cumbersome at times so expect to get a little frustrated on occasion. Bosses can be a little underwhelming but the main enemies in the game are varied and deliver what you'd expect from a game of this genre, well placed in challenging positions which means you have to think about your tactics or path just as in the Mega Man series. The weapons feel a bit underpowered and pretty basic because they all enemies seem to take a number of shots to destroy despite the weapon being used. If you’re a fan of the Mega Man series it's easy for me to say you'll enjoy what Metagal has to offer. It gets the most important aspects right and delivers a solid experience for fans of the platforming genre. A good title worth the price of admission, and if you are an achievement hunter you can achieve the full set way before the end of the game which is rare for any Xbox title containing in game achievements.… Expand

    I probably shouldn’t be bringing up Devious Dungeon, but it’s hard not to, as my sentiments for both that and Metagal on Xbox One are similar. This sees it all come across as a functional, well designed sidescroller that will distract you for a few hours with some solid action and fun level design, before likely seeing you never going back to it.

    Whilst Metagal doesn’t stand nearly as tall as the likes of Mega Man, there’s still quite a bit of fun to be found here. The gameplay is fluid and responsive, with just the right level of challenge in place to keep you on your toes throughout. That being said, the game’s short length and its habit of frequently handing out cheap deaths are its greatest drawbacks, which is a shame, because Metagal’s otherwise sturdy framework clearly deserved better.
