    Whilst nothing in Mekabolt on Xbox One is found to be reinventing the wheel, what is on offer is a couple of hours of old school fun and games in a beautifully realised 8-bit setting.

    While Mekabolt has some nice, colourful visuals and snappy controls, there simple isn’t really much else going on here that I can recommend. Level design is basic, there’s no real challenge and it all just feels a bit of a slog to get through. As with other Ratalaika games, achievement hunters will likely lap up it up, but anyone looking for a solid platformer is best off looking elsewhere.

    Mekabolt is an action platformer where you play as a random female theme park technician, IE the people who fix all the **** when it breaks.Mekabolt is an action platformer where you play as a random female theme park technician, IE the people who fix all the **** when it breaks. The robots of the theme park have gone berserk because the control room's batteries have disappeared because… umm… reasons, yes, reasons… that works, don't ask too many questions, it's not good for you. Well as the techie, it's your job to go find those batteries, cause you can't buy them at the local Walmart I guess.

    This place is a **** deathtrap and shouldn't be a theme park, you have spike pits, hidden spring loaded spike traps, LAVA, giant falling stalactites, and fireballs littering the bloody park. What the **** kind of theme park is this, this is like Jurassic Park levels of theme park NOPE. On top of that, you have to circumnavigate **** robots, most of these things have one purpose, to kill stuff, and kill it hard. Again, what the **** kind of theme park is this? You've got robots that are spikes, ones that shoot BOMBS, ones that fire energy pellets that can kill you, like what the hell, all the people who come here must be suicidal cause no one is making it out of this park alive. Luckily shooting them with your special gun powers them down for varying periods of time. Each robot is unique in that way. Some you can shoot and then push them around to use them as a step to get to higher places, others as springs. Some you can shoot and jump on and they'll fly you to higher places so you can reach new heights hehe heights, see what I did there, hehe. The rest, either disable for short periods of time before they activate their spikes, and there's both ground and flying based versions of these. Lastly there's ones that fire bombs at you and shooting them doesn't stop the bombs it just turns them around so they can shoot other things. There's also a robot that just shoots energy pellets that kill on contact. So again, the **** kind of homicidal theme park is this? These robots berserk or not have no purpose other than to kill stuff, these are like ****ty military grade reject robots.

    I had a grand total of one issue with the game, and it's kind of weird and petty. There's blocks you destroy to move on that are your EXACT SAME SIZE, you destroy it and it won't let you walk through. Instead you have to destroy one above it as well in order to walk through, it's just kind of annoying. Otherwise the game is great though, the platforming is easy, the puzzles rarely are hard to figure out immediately, I had to think on like less than 5 of them. It's a Ratalaika game, they're made to be easy and fast, that's why people love them.

    It's a Ratalaika game, it's worth playing it's worth buying. I've yet to meet someone who said "Ratalaika, ****'em" no one says that, everyone chomps at the bit to get their games cause it's nice fast easy gamerscore, often attached to games that have cute styles. You can 100% the game in under an hour and supposedly get all the achievements in under 30 minutes so hunters behold, the next glory you can to stake a claim to.    … Full Review »

    Mekabolt you play as an theme park technician that is in search of batteries to repair the out of control robots. You use your Mekabolt the weapon your armed with to control robots to manipulate them to do what you want to solve puzzles. There is over 100 levels to be played on Mekabolt. Four different areas as well. Forest, Desert, Caves, and The command center. It's kind of strange to me there is no Theme Park that would have been really cool.
    Each area has it's own different threats and enemies. Cave has falling spikes, bats, lava. The desert has blocks that disappear like quicksand making you fall, spear shooting traps, and cactus, while the forest has spikes, gunner robots, just a ton of things to get in your way. The game will test you at times, but never really gets to frustrating. You should be able to complete it in a couple of hours, and have all the achievements within thirty minutes. They are pretty much can't miss as well.They are for getting to certain areas, and running into certain enemy types. It's another easy complete game from Ratalaika.
    It looks really retro as well, and the music is really cool It feels like MegaMan a little except for the point you only have one weapon type, and it is a little bit more of a puzzler. Would been cool if they threw some robot bosses in there. That would have added a lot to it in my opinion. I till very much enjoyed it though. You can't ask for much more than Ratalaika has delivered of late. Affordable games with easy completions and hours of game play. If you try it out , and enjoy it let us know.     Overall: 7.4 Mekabolt is another one from Ratalaika i highly recommend for padding your gamer stats on PSN or Live. The five dollar price tag is just hard to say no to, especially when it;s good for a unforgettable evening of fun.    … Full Review »
