Unfortunately though Marble Void will not be remembered fondly because it simply has too many shortcomings. The controls which of course are very important in a game like this are very awkward and the biggest sin is that they don’t always feel responsive which is completely unacceptable. When you combine the horrible controls with some levels that are already very difficult then you get the feeling that you will never complete the game which puts you off almost immediately. I did however like the variety of levels you can play and some of them are cleverly designed, but ultimately the difficulty curve makes you forget about the clever design in the levels. What amazed me the most with this game is the technical issues it suffers with. A game like this shouldn’t be suffering with framerate problems, but it suffers with these problems throughout and sometimes it becomes that bad that at times it can be unplayable. The content in the game gets repetetive quickly and the lack of variety harms any chance of the game having any replay value. They did manage to get one thing right in the game though and that’s the weight and feel of the ball, but ultimately there’s little else they get right. The presentation side of the game is bland and doesn’t fit the gameplay at all. The soundtrack is also not very good and gets repetetive and annoying very quickly. At the end of the day this is one of them games that has a neat and interesting idea but unfortunately this interesting idea gets lost in the poor execution of the game. The amount of problems the game had shocked me and it never recovers, so any fun you have doesn’t last very long at all. Even though the game has a low price I advise you to stay clear of Marble Void because it’s a game that doesn’t give you enough enjoyment. Expand

As it stands, it is the price which will ultimately dictate things. For less than five dollars, Marble Void is well worth the punt… especially if you’re one of those who are looking for a new marble fix. It’s not as good as the likes of Marble Blast Ultra from years past, but it’s a solid entry with a great price. But please fix the frame rate issues.
