Finding paths and solving physics puzzles to navigate through each new horrifying location. This time, having an AI companion to guide you and team up together in order to make it through this living hell. Battling it out against massive monstrosities, one single misstep and you are their lunch. A Tim Burton-esque mix of cultural styles and architecture that gives the game this unique, creepy, dark mysterious vibe and a story that is confusing but oh so tantalizing to decipher. Just amazing work from this indie team, absolutely polished and built upon from the first game. A frightening and adrenaline fueled trip through 2.5 D platforming, chases and puzzle solving, short but still such good value. Check out my full review here: https://youtu.be/54jBuRTatPQ Expand

Instead of a hungry girl, you play as a bag boy, this is a solo 2d horror platforming game, though you do have a companion from time to time to help you through this world..
Much more than the original, Little Nightmares 2 feels like Limbo Meets Unravel, meets outlast… the formula is basically the same from the original, go forward, solving very simple trial end error environmental puzzles, and ocassionally dealing with creepy enemies, hiding under desks, doing suspenseful chase sequences, flashing lights to make these creepy manachins freeze, little nightmares 2 is miles more terrifying than the first, its creepy, does a great job at giving you new and fresh environemnts to play through, unforgettable monsters for the first half of the game.. the second half is pretty weak, but the strength of the rest of the game makes up for it..
This is 5 and a half hourss worth getting through
Little Nightmares 2 is great, its unsettling, a horror experience that much like the first will last with oyu.
Little Nightmares has cemented itself as one of the best and unique horror series of all time.

It has all the good stuff it's predecessor had, but can become irritating fast with some of the puzzles being a guessing game of what you had to do. And about that combat; one keyword to describe it: clunky. Simply put, if some things were a bit more balanced with the narrative and the gameplay itself, this could've earned at least an 8 or 9. But as of now, it remains decent at best. Expand

A new game with the same issues as in the first one. The camera is awful, again! You need more than one thumb, on one hand, to pass some frustrating levels easily. You die because you don't see what comes next. I really really hate it when I have to do the same **** over and over again because it was poorly developed!

The artwork and the atmosphere is the only good thing in this game!

Dear developers, please just make more effort in the next game towards the camera and please less frustration!!!

Honestly, this game is worthy of high praise. To explain, the attention to detail is amazing, graphics while playing on the PS5 are top notch, and the creepy sensation the story and environment give really set this game apart.

I don't think there is a game that would have traumatised me more should I have played it as a child. The enemies are just so horrific, maybe more so than the first. The sound design complements every environment perfectly. You find yourself with a companion, who functions well enough, and because it was your playable character in the first, it's easy to feel a connection. There are some interesting and surprising moments of combat, some destructible environments. Gameplay ideas not seen in the first. The level design, the detail, the variety in puzzles. It's great, it's imposing, you feel small, you feel scared, but you don't want it to end.

Until you reach the last couple stages, then you're a little bit readier for it to end, appropriately. What i mean is, the forest level is a perfect introduction, and to avoid spoiling anything further, the next few levels are even better, but it certainly loses its footing later on. Enemies aren't revealed with the same gravitas, the tension steadily dissipates. I feel deaths are even more difficult to predict. I realize, the game expects you to die, but many points felt unfair and relied too much on trial and error.

It still has all the symbolism, intrigue and wonderful world-building seen in the first. It felt a little longer, which, i still think is a plus, i just don't know whether the increased scale, in terms of it's narrative and environments, seen in the later stages, was misplaced. It's the more grounded moments, where you feel especially small and vulnerable, that Little Nightmares offers up its best, unique brand of horror.

In short: Little Nightmares II is too much of an irritating, sad and violent game, and too little of a fun game.

The original Little Nightmares was mostly about stealth. Keep hidden in the shadows, and you might just escape the creatures waiting to catch you. That is what made the game great, and what made it different from so many other games out there.

In Little Nightmares II, Tarsier and Bandai Namco throw some of that winning formula overboard. Instead, we find a loosely connected, confusing narrative - and many fights. Yes, apart from fleeing and hiding, this game is a lot about hitting, crushing and killing.

The visuals and sound design, as well as many of the puzzle based levels, are still top notch, but controls are sometimes clunky. Simple episodes of walking around, finding something and solving a problem are mixed with infuriating, timing sensitive jump and run action. The latter often breaks the flow of the game, leaving a feeling of frustration, rather than a sense of accomplishment, with awkwardly placed checkpoints only adding to this. Also, some scripted character actions look choppy and would have needed a bit more polishing.

Most reviewers seem not to mind all the violence, which perhaps reflects the times we live in. Altogether, Little Nightmares II is too much of an irritation, and too little fun. The semi-predictable ending of this Scandinavian game leaves a similar taste in your mouth like so many Scandinavian TV series have for the last decade. Been there, done that. Please move on.

This game is mind blowing, as much for the storyline as for the graphics, soundtrack or sound design. Everything is so well done and realized that the game puts you in a dismal and sometimes scary atmosphere from the moment he is open.

A horror adventure with an unique atmosphere, loveable main characters, great sound and interesting story. It could have gotten a perfect score from me, if it wasn't for the infuriating and unfair trial&error sections and the extreme short length.

    BEFORE STARTING:
Little Nightmares 2 was announced on February 10, 2021; developed by Tarsier Studios and published by Supermassive Games and Bandai Namco. The game was completed 100% on Xbox Series X, with additional graphical improvements compared to the old-gen version.

    TUNING THE TV:
Little Nightmares 2 begins with a short scene depicting a long corridor with a closed door. The door bears the eye symbol from the first chapter, clearly hinting at the interconnection between the two games, establishing it from the start. In the following few seconds, the player finds themselves controlling a new little character, completely unknown, with a paper bag covering their face. This character doesn't seem to possess any special abilities and moves similarly to Six, the protagonist of the first Little Nightmares. The early stages of the game take place in a large, dark, and evidently inhabited forest. These areas serve as a way for the player to learn the various game mechanics in order to utilize them as soon as possible.

    ESCAPING FROM YOUR SHADOW:
Little Nightmares 2 combines the simplicity of controls for the main character, including running, grabbing, stealthy walking, and calling, with the complexity and intricacy of puzzles present in different game environments. These puzzles continuously vary throughout the chapters and require strategy and reflexes from players, as well as a good level of stealth to avoid being discovered by enemies. The game is packed with chasing sequences, complex puzzles, enemies with different attack styles, and many platforming sections. The 5 chapters of the game are distinctly divided into completely different areas, each with at least one unique mechanic. Additionally, there are various collectibles ranging from huggable glitch children to wearable hats. It's worth noting the ability to choose which chapters to play. Fortunately, the presence of an allied artificial intelligence doesn't cause problems during stealth sections and manages to provide a sense of tranquility in the darkest levels.

    YELLOW FEAR:
The art design of this game is stunning, with attention to detail in every aspect, in every moment of the game and in every situation. Each enemy has numerous unique animations based on player interaction. The variety of 3D models in this game is astonishing and, even though they are often repeated, they never give a sense of déjà vu. Furthermore, the attention to detail in the various rooms, which effectively tells a silent story to the player, is always delightful. Finally, the script is the game's highlight and is considered one of the best ever seen in the gaming landscape.

    STATIC SYMPHONY:
The sound department of Little Nightmares 2 has significantly improved compared to the first title, with a much larger and memorable list of original music. The sound design is well executed in most situations, allowing the player to avoid hidden dangers or to tremble in their seat, hoping not to be caught.
    BUT WHY 9?

    PROS:
Personally, Little Nightmares 2 is one of the most beautiful and touching horror adventures in the gaming world, with impeccable aesthetics and attention to detail that rival any AAA game. The addition of an ally definitely reduces the anxiety of solitude but adds an infinite number of fantastic interactions, along with the typical hand-in-hand running reminiscent of ICO for PlayStation 2.

    CONS:
Beside some glitches, which are nearly unavoidable given the vast array of different mechanics, the game is almost perfect. The one detail that prevents it from reaching a 10 lies in the ending, which gives the impression of being rushed, possibly due to the impending release date. The final section of the game explains very little about the past and future world of the game and connects the two console titles in a somewhat hidden manner. Nevertheless, both games are still unforgettable gems.

    RATINGS:
    Gameplay: 10
    Music: 9,5
    Story: 8
    Horror: 9,5

It's remarkable how quickly 'Little Nightmares 2' takes hold of you. The constant sense of unease is excellent, which makes it all the more unfortunate that the game is artificially stretched by puzzles that are unnecessarily drawn out and complex. And so this beautiful nightmare ends in an ordinary dream.
