This episodes continue to wrench your gut, and Dark Room did so in a horrifyingly brilliant way. You could poke holes in some of the minor story lines, and there didn't feel as interactive as the early episodes; who cares? And you get every penny of that $5 or less, nothing like the lazy game of thrones episodes.

As someone who needed more time than most to fully love this game, I'm glad to say episode 4 was absolute narrative brilliance from beginning to end. I haven't been this moved by and enthralled in a story in any medium in I don't know how long. I haven't been this moved by and enthralled in a story in any medium in I don't know how long. The emotional moments, the darkening mood, the plot twists, and the powerful choices make for an experience that is, for me, far beyond telltales games, which often do more to create the illusion of choice than to actually deliver. There is serious content in this, that some are offended by, but I personally am glad this game isn't remaining silent on real life issues, and handling them with depth and honesty. Well done. Everyone seriously needs to play this game, if only for the greatness of this episode. Expand

Life is Strange Episode 4 is the best Life is Strange game we've seen so far. The story finally gets exciting and fully immersive, and the cliffhanger at the end is a great tease towards the final episode. It also contains more detective elements, which makes the game more active.

Now the end is near the gimmick of time traveling is pushed into the background a little bit, as this episode is more about storytelling and conversation. That means there is not a lot of gameplay action, which makes this episode feel more passive. Thankfully Max’ detective work pushes you to the edge of your chair, as she unravels shocking truths.
