    Its hella awesome!!! Level of first Life is Strange was very high, and authors had a great responsibility for prequel. Young 16 Chloe is rather different from 19 Chloe from LiS. Feelings, emotions...are so real! Meeting of Chloe and Rachel, her meltdowns because of missing her Dad and Max. Its ..awesome.

    Incredible and magical as it should be, charismatic characters, interesting and varied, a wonderful soundtrack and an impressive art direction, the game touches on delicate and controversial subjects with a lot of respect and makes the experience very immersive and magical, looking forward to the next episode

    Ocasionnaly you get into a battle of words where you have to try and talk your way into or out of a situation…
    you have to pay close attention to what your opponent says and say something back to go along with it in a smooth way…
    Other than that, youre just choosing what you believe is the best response for chloes situation, you can be cold or warm, not much in between
    As youre dealing with your new step dad david, and getting into trouble with Rachel amber…
    There are a few special moments here, but not much…
    Overall I feel there are no real choices of consequence here which is a bit of a let down..
    Making this feel more like an interactive movie than an actual adventure game.
    The first episode I found it hard to care what was going on at all.. despite me crying for chloe in life is strange.. I just didn’t care about her or her relationship with amber at first, the only saving grace being a dungeons and dragons game thrown in there…
    But episode 2 completely changed my opinion of the game and the relationship of these 2 girls…
    Easily my favorite episode where theres a little more adventure type sections of looking for items you need but more importantly theres more bonding, there are more characters, drama, theres a play that for me topped even the dungeons and dragons game…
    The relationship felt alive and real, and then episode 3 comes along and It just disappoints in comparrison….
    It goes by at a snails pace, though there are touching moments with chloes father that really saves it from feeling like an ultimate let down…
    The story telling saves this game, and its middle episode makes the 7 hour journey worth it.
    The delivery of this game is just very inconsistent… filled with great moments as well as moments youll be begging to just be over
    But I cried and I cared,
    And as a game that sets out to tell a story I guess that’s all that really matters
    I give life is strange before the storm

    Dontnod, le petit développeur français qui a basculé dans les indés à la godille démontre encore ici qu'il ne sait pas : il ne sait ni faire un jeu, ni raconter une histoire...     ça sent donc et ça suinte le SJW avec du LBGT et consorts mais ça respire surtout l'ennui, la mollesse et la niaiserie à tous les étages. C'est donc "Plus belle la vie" en jeu vidéo... Les graphismes sont sommaires mais on ne leur jettera pas la pierre inutilement, on a vu bien pire dans le genre. On jettera par contre des tomates et même des cageots entiers à ces petites connes d'ados et leurs états d'âmes insignifiants et ridicules.

    Je me suis endormi devant l'écran tellement c'est navrant... c'est vraiment un jeu, ça ? Faut dire que la musique d'ascenseur aide beaucoup... Et puis de la part d'un développeur français, ne pas proposer de VF, c'est un peu fort de café ! cette blague...    … Expand

    Deck Nine absolutely nailed the look and atmosphere of Life is Strange but unfortunately they fell short on the story side. The graphics have improved with better facial animations and lip syncing, and the music by Daughter fits the game perfectly. The plot is very rushed and nonsensical at times and it unfortunately ends on a bit of a disappointing note in episode 3. Одна, Хлоя - «мамина» бунтарка, которая протестует против мира в принципе и маминого нового ухажёра в частности; вторая, Рэйчел - самая популярная девочка на курсе, у которой всё чётко, «дичайше и по красоте», как говорится. По логике вещей, им не суждено было даже просто начать общаться, но сценаристы для нас подготовили нечто интересное - однажды они встречаются в дешёвом клубе, наполненном обрыганами на концерте андеграундной группы, которая нравится обеим, как оказалось. Обстоятельства сводят их вместе и начинается история, полная как весёлого так и грустного, а главное, вызывающего море эмоций, даже полностью на английском языке, так как актрисы и актёры отлично отыгрывают. Сама же история вполне понятна любому человеку, она такая обычная, житейская, только с немного другим менталитетом. Персонажей раскрыли великолепно за счёт эмоций, опять таки, и ты к ним относишься, как и к второстепенным персонажам, со всей внимательность, потому что они становятся тебе именно друзьями, а не просто болванчиками для интерьера! Чего стоят только две необязательные катки в местный аналог D&D, которые нужны именно для единения с миром игры, а не просто чтобы поиграть и не для растягивания времени.

    Это интерактивное кино с лучшим раскрытием персонажей в жанре - им сопереживаешь и стараешься вникнуть в их проблемы, а также искренне радуешься их маленьким победам, сопереживаешь проблемам и пытаешься помочь.
    Мир игры мал, но очень скрупулёзно проработан - в каждой локации можно взаимодействовать с большим количеством объектов и услышать комментарии Хлои, а порой и Рэйчел.
    Саундтрек бесподобен - песни отлично подходят ко всему происходящему, дополняют и без того эмоциональные моменты… такое и в плейлист добавить не грех, а в лимитке, как раз, лежит диск с саундтреком, что очень кстати!

    Есть конечно и минусы.
    Один сюжетный момент становится таковым только в середине основной игры, но это будет спойлер, поэтому промолчу.
    Из технических нюансов выделю, разве что, не самую передовую анимацию движений и лиц персонажей, которая изредка не сочетается с голосом, как будто персонаж ругается с каменным лицом, но такое бывает редко.

    Играл полностью на английском, но после финальных титров не удержался и прочитал гайд по прохождению, выяснив, что почти ничего не упустил - понял 85-90%, при том, что учил всю жизнь немецкий!

    Моя оценка 8,5 из 10. Поставил бы больше, если бы не было так коротко - всего три эпизода общей продолжительностью в 12 часов. Сложилось ощущение, как будто нас готовят к чему-то более эпичному и выйди предыстория до оригинальной игры, сразу стало бы ясно, что это задел на сиквел, а в остальном всё замечательно.    … Expand

Though playing Chloe Price seems more lively at first (rebel/ impulsive character), it feels overall kinda empty, mainly because the absence of "power", and by extension the lack of real choices.     It's a good prequel, it's not at the level of the original one but overall it is very good. For people who haven't played either game yet, maybe it's better to play this first and then the original to not miss the wow effect.

Chloe Price can certainly be hard to deal with and will certainly remind you of that rebellious emotionally immature teenager you went to high school with. But she is a great character with duality and flaws who is greatly emotionally damaged. So the fact that Decknine made her the main character of the Life is strange prequel was actually quite brilliant. Sure they could have stuck with Max and did some trivial of her moving to Arcadia and such the month before the events of the original game. But that would have been too safe and not as fun. Going with the side character who most of the fans loved from the original as I said before was a smart choice, but this game dives into more than just the aftermath of a teenager losing their father. It has to bring to life the character described as Rachel Amber, when learning more about the missing girl from the original game you start this is the most coolest and wonderful person ever. Which is not easy task. But I'd have to say Decknine did fairly well with the character. Her and Chloe sort of come together as two lonely individuals seeking purpose. They do give each other some level of comfort. But I think it's up to the player to decide if these 2 are really good for each other? The way this game tackles the theme of loneliness is simply incredible. The game really helps you understand why Chloe is emotionally damaged It also doesn't force you to love Chloe or Rachel for that matter. Chloe is not necessarily a good person, she's not necessarily a bad person either. Just somewhere in the middle and I love that in a character. Decknine made sure you couldn't just be nice all the time because that wouldn't fit her character at all, the most you can do is just be somewhat tolerant of people she doesn't like. Overall I think it's a good coming of age story that does a great job of capturing loneliness and heartbreak. Although the final chapter is a bit lacking and the game has a moment where a person is drugged and is kind of meant to be a "funny" scene but I think its done in poor taste. Although it could be a nod to the original. But I was satisfied with the ending of the game its so happy and joyful with Rachel and Chloe running around town having fun and then Decknine breaks our heart and reminds us of the fate of Rachel as we come crashing down back to reality with Rachel's phone blowing up in the dark room as you hear photographs being taken. It left me feeling hopeless and sad. But what Decknine did was really bring her to life and see what a cool person she was and to not just think of her as a tragedy. Overall I'd give it a moderate 7/10.… Expand

    Life is Strange: Before The Storm is basically a spin-off. It talks more about the events leading up to the beginning of the original Life is Strange. It's definitely an interesting story, although it was short.

    My only other review is of Torchlight 3 and because of that I needed to put some thoughts onto paper here. Before I found Torchlight 3 this game was the worst one I had ever played. The first installment of this series was full of heart and while goofy at times was honestly enjoyable. This one just wasn't that, the writing dropped off and it was honestly boring at times. Maybe it justMy only other review is of Torchlight 3 and because of that I needed to put some thoughts onto paper here. Before I found Torchlight 3 this game was the worst one I had ever played. The first installment of this series was full of heart and while goofy at times was honestly enjoyable. This one just wasn't that, the writing dropped off and it was honestly boring at times. Maybe it just wasn't for me but I found the characters unbearable, the atmosphere lazy and repulsive, and the length to feel so jumbled and messy that it didn't make sense. When compared to Torchlight 3 this game is a masterpiece though, speaking of which back to Torchlight. That game is nothing more than a four year old learning how to code snake for the first time. It is the most uncreative, disgusting excuse for a game I have ever played. Nothing but an empty game with a terrible story and boring gameplay. In my almost 5k character review of Torchlight 3 I didn't even mention how all of the cutscenes sound like someone is speaking into a Kinect microphone. Actually it's worse than that. Ever had a grandmother plug their phone into their car's aux port only for them to call you from the car? No grandma I cannot understand you it simultaneously sounds like you're drowning and in a wind tunnel. It's that bad, and don't even get me started on how barren the game is. Villages have cardboard cutouts of NPCs that don't do anything, story characters are boring and have repetitive dialogue, and honestly the villains have some of the cringiest dialogue I have ever heard. It's such a **** game. "Life is Strange: Before the Storm is better than" is a sentence I thought I would never have to say in my entire life but here we are, it's better than Torchlight 3. It gets a 3/10 because Chloe is hot, annoying, but hot.… Expand

    I like this game, but what getting more give it what getting is that it doesn't stay canon to what is stated as canon from the first game. This game breaks many moments that got confirm as canon in first game. Doesn't mean that I hate this game. Just don't like how it ruins the canon.

    In spite of its faults, Life is Strange: Before the Storm is a fantastic follow-up to an already great game. It improves upon the formula of the original title while offering a fascinating look into two of the series' most captivating characters. Beautiful, charming, and devastating, Before the Storm is a must-play for fans of the series and a phenomenal way to tide players over until the release of Life is Strange 2.

    It's rare that a prequel truly works, where a story can captivate despite the audience knowing what's coming and where the path will lead. Life Is Strange: Before The Storm is one of those exceptional stories because it draws you in on its own terms. The only problem: You know it's building you up just to break your heart.

    Before the Storm made me care about Chloe and Rachel, giving me backstory into both of their lives before Max comes back. The journey is bittersweet, knowing the tragic events from the first game for both characters. As a prequel, Before the Storm succeeds because it tells its own story that leaves you content, while also connecting to the original game in a meaningful way. Deck Nine may not have a hand in the original, but it made sure to do Chloe and Rachel’s story justice, capturing the essence of Life is Strange while providing plenty of nods to fans.
