There is no excuse for launching the game the way it was in April, and most gamers have already forgotten about the title entirely. But for those that may stumble upon it on sale somewhere, feel good in knowing that you are picking up a solid, and unique title, that is finally worthy of sitting on a retail shelf.

By far the most appalling thing about Lichdom: Battlemage is not its dull method of storytelling, its unsatisfying combat, its convoluted crafting system, or even its game-breaking frame rate issues. The most appalling thing is the sheer lack of sincere communication and apology from Maximum Games, who have released the most utterly broken Xbox One game that I have ever played and have demanded a whopping $50 for it.

    DO NOT BUY THIS GAME!!!
As of 4/19/16, Lichdom: Battlemage is UNPLAYABLE. This has to be the WORST port since the Batman: Arkham Knight PC port. The frame rate is in single digits... let me repeat this... The frame freakin rate of this potentially great game has never hit 20fps. Most of the time you'll be playing a PowerPoint.

But then again... this console port was done by Maximum (more like Minimum) Games, the people that brought you Farming Simulator 16.

Update: They have addressed that they will be working to patch up the game. No promises though. I'm sorry for those who bought this mess of a game.

Horrible frame rate and sickening motion blur!
I'm only talking about the XBox One version of this game. The idea of this game is entertaining and starts out fun, but as few as a couple minutes in the horrendous motion blur started to make me ill. In the tutorial videos if you look at the characters hands the movements look crisp an clean, but the second I would cast the same spell its a blurred mess. You'll notice the same thing with all the backgrounds and edges which ended up getting annoying very quick. Then I made it to the first boss fight. if your camera has any part of the green force field in view(which is most of the time) the frame rate drops to the low teens or worse making what could be an enjoyable moment in the game simply sadistic. The game continued like this the entire time I played it. Then theres the very minor complaint of having no crosshairs, but compared to the extreme graphics flaws of this port(which make the game nearly unplayable) that doesn't even really matter.
