La Mulana 2 overall is an improved game over La-Mulana. It has very nicely implementation of it’s improvements as the puzzles are easier to understand and the overall flow of the game is better. Both the platforming and the combat feels better and you can obtain items more rapidly than that of its predecessor. The boss fights are also less chaotic. The core of the game is much better than La Mulana, and overall the puzzles aren’t as painstakingly difficult to solve. Playing La Mulana isn't required to pick up and enjoy La Mulana 2 right away either. It won’t help you with the puzzles as obscure as most of the original contained, it will mostly help you avoid any death traps, and also make you more that aware to be sure and take proper notes as you make your journey through the game. As with La Mulana, if you don't want to deal with tough puzzles, it's still a solid action platformer if you want to play with the hints. The game is both linear and nonlinear in ways and there are certain progression checkpointa, but within each 'block' of the game you need to complete a number of objectives in order to progress. I definitely recommend the game for newcomers and for those returning to La Mulana 2 once again. Those who own an Xbox One can finally enjoy this classic retro filled metroidvania game in all its glory. I highly recommend picking up the Limited Edition set if you are a fan of the series. Your journey awaits! Expand

La-Mulana 2 is just as fun, frustrating and tricky as its predecessor. It has improved on some of the aspects that let the first game down a little, although not completely such as the jumping aspect. However, the game relies on a Myst/Dark Souls philosophy; that those that are determined and persistent will persevere and feel rewarded upon completion. For those into retro platformers which a decent difficulty level then this could be up your street.
