    Well worth its asking price for its content alone. The game’s meta theme doesn’t run dry throughout and is often used as a clever tool to hold up the overall experience. Minor annoyances with its dialogue and the general grind to the side, those that relish RPG games and enjoy some light humor, will more than appreciate what’s on offer.

    Once you do figure out how things work in Knights of Pen and Paper there is fun to be had in small doses. The main quest plods along at a slow pace, but this is mainly down to the amount of necessary grinding required, particularly at a few sharp difficulty spikes. That said, as someone who has played tabletop games before, I can appreciate the humour and nods this game gives, and this is a decent recreation of it in a videogame format.

    Game’s that originally start out on mobile devices don’t often tend to do well on consoles, so when playing a game that makes that journey IGame’s that originally start out on mobile devices don’t often tend to do well on consoles, so when playing a game that makes that journey I am often a little dubious. Sometimes though you do have them rare occasions where a mobile game works well on consoles and thankfully that’s the case with Knights of Pen and Paper +1 Deluxier Edition. Don’t get me wrong this game still suffers with a few shortcomings but in terms of the turn-based RPG genre it’s a pretty decent addition to the genre and it ultimately gets more right than it gets wrong. In order to keep a game of this ilk interesting you have to have a number of different classes available for you to try out, and thankfully they’ve done a good job here. Each class feels different from the other and defeating the enemies you face with the different classes feels satisfying the whole way through. You will however have to learn what each spell and upgrade does when defeating the enemies because at the start you really don’t have a clue what they do because they aren’t explained very well. Once you learn what they do though you will be pleasantly surprised because there are a number of upgrades and unlockables for you to obtain and each one has a decent amount of variety to them, which in turn gives the game quite a bit of replayability. This is not a bad thing either because you have quite a bit of content for you to get to grips with so the replay value the game has very rarely gets boring. The content can get frustrating from time to time though and that’s mainly down to the game’s difficulty curve. Unfortunately the game can be very difficult at times and this difficulty seems to spike out of nowhere at times. Thankfully you can combat this high difficulty though with the upgrades and unlockables available to you, but in order to get the very best upgrades it does require a lot of grinding. The constant grinding can be a nuisance at times and it does become tedious but as you progress and get the better equipment the grinding does start to dwindle, which is a relief. The presentation side of the game is something I really enjoyed and whilst it’s not going to win any awards it satisfied me completely. It satisfied me because both the visuals and sound design combine together extremely well and in the end they make the gameplay even more fun. At the end of the day fans of turn-based RPG’s will find quite a bit they enjoy with this game and I must admit that Knights of Pen and Paper +1 Deluxier Edition impressed me quite a bit, which is no small feat considering it started out its life on mobile devices.… Full Review »

    It's entertaining but gets repetitive pretty quickly. Not hard to exploit game mechanics to make it very easy which just leads to a lot of grinding.

Не поймите меня неправильно - эта игра не плохая сама по себе, но тут слишком много НО. Первое НО - это то, что её не должно было быть на Боксе. Вообще. Пошаговая рпг с мобилки должна оставаться там, максимум быть портированой на Свитч, что и было сделано. В игре нет русских субтитров, что эссенциально для игры на мой взгляд, 80% которой основано на квесте. Графика чрезмерно пиксельная, из-за этого на большом телевизоре не комфортно во всё это играть, музыка тут очень уж неприятная и бюджетная. Да, сама идея интересная, этакая симуляция настольных ролевух...Но...кхм, как бы это повежливее уточнить.... Люди могут это делать и у себя дома, в компании живых друзей и родных, и это в сотни раз интереснее, чем играть в
    KNIGHTS OF PEN AND PAPER +1 DELUXIER EDITION, и уж тем более на стационарной консоли без локализации.    … Full Review »
