Season 2 also increases the resolution of the game, making the already beautiful fighting game look even better. The in-game menus have been vastly improved and stage ultras are being introduced to the stages. The fact new characters will be added to the game over the course of next six months will ensure that the game remains fresh and interesting until Season 3 is released.

Even without the Season 2 improvements and addition, the core game is still one of the best fighting games around and it keeps getting better.

    KI Season 2:

The initial reviews of Killer Instinct were positive, but most stated negativity around the initial volume of characters (8) and the skepticism surrounding the promised release of more characters and active involvement in improving the game. The initial reviews of Killer Instinct were positive, but most stated negativity around the initial volume of characters (8) and the skepticism surrounding the promised release of more characters and active involvement in improving the game. I'm here to say that while it is a good thing to be cautious of promises, Killer Instinct has exceeded expectations, and is the best fighting game available today.

The game's resolution has jumped from 720p to 900p and looks better than ever. There are currently 14 characters available with three more being released over the course of the next three months. The amazing thing about the characters is that there is more variety than in almost any fighting games. Zoning, Tanks, fast characters, then of course Jago for your well rounded, and easy to use character for people transitioning from Street fighter and used to Ken or Ryu. Speaking of Transitioning from Street Fighter, that's just what I did, and this game's mechanics at the bare bones are very similar to the SF series. The combo system is definitely different, but it is beatable and extremely entertaining! This game is fun to just watch other talented players because of the pace of battle. The online Netcode is the best on the xbox one, and the only place I would recommend fighting if you want seamless online matches one after the other.

Season 2 has done more to improve KI than any re-release of SF or DOA ever did for that series, and the best part? You only have to purchase the character pack to have them all, an additional $20 that is totally worth it. I really look forward to what season 3 has to offer. I'm interested to see the design layouts and new characters introduced next year. I would love to see this game competing in popularity with the likes of Street Fighter or Mortal Kombat for years to come. Killer Instinct has climbed and claimed its place at the top of the Fighting genre.

KI Season 2 is exactly what iv been waiting for. Content and more features/modes. KI S2 is one of the best fighting games I have ever played. A must pick up for fighting fans. The variety of characters and quality spent on each one is unmatched on what I have played. Having Rash from Battletoads as a bonus S3 character is the icing on the cake.

An utter lackluster disappointment with a braindead story that makes no sense and fighters that should have been in the game but are being given to us via DLC. I am so disappointed and drained at this lackluster yet fun game. This rating is for Season 2 and 3 combined. 6.7/10. This rating also goes towards Street Fighter V and MKX XL. Killer Instinct has to be one of my favourite games on Xbox One and season 2 adds so much more to the game. More characters, more stages and new features. Can't wait for season 3 in march!

Unfortunately they were bought out by Amazon and now have new developers. Killer Instinct season 2 now developed by Iron Galaxy studios was seemingly hit and miss, We never got the Ultimate Combos which was a disappointment but stage ultras were introduced which are honestly not very impressive, they lack any weight to them and often come across as very goofy. The characters hold up well but the animations on some are ghastly (Maya). It tries new things which in some case's work very well and I like that. Music is fantastic and the graphics improved, net-code is solid...but I give little credit to the season because the net code and game-play were all just from Double Helix so Iron Galaxy gets little credit since the mechanics are not something they made.

Overall not great as it was very lacklustre and nothing stood out, the game itself is fine but season 2 didn't created the mechanics and game itself so it gets less credit

Una gran alternativa a las otras sagas de juegos de lucha, con toda clase de luchadores.

The season 2 was fantastic. The new characters are awesome, the scenarios are a art-awesomeness and the music are fantastic. Waiting for the Season 3 my friends.

With the new characters and modes, Killer Instinct reaffirms itself as one of the best fighting games in the market. The combat system is still great, and the netcode is probably the best around. Definitely a must for Xbox One owners who love the genre.

Killer Instinct is one of the best fighting games available on new consoles. Unique and extremely fun, you shouldn't miss it if you have an Xbox One.
