    This game is the same one I fell in love with on PS2 except a bit prettier! One analog stick being higher than the other does require some adjusting, but it doesn't take too long before you can maneuver around just fine.

Each song has its own character and will work their way into the player's head for some time even after finishing the game. The reason that the soundtrack is so engaging in Katamari Damacy Reroll is because it just as as unique as everything else in the game, and will definitely never find one that combines its bizarre premise with such infectiously fun gameplay. Katamari Damacy Reroll is little more than a prettier version of its aged predecessor, but nothing about that description changes how fun and playable it remains so many years later which is always a nice discovery. The Katamari in Katamari Damacy Reroll can pick up any object smaller than it, which in turn will cause the ball to grow in size. As the katamari continues to grow the player will be able to roll up even larger objects and eventually make it gargantuan. Each of the main levels of Katamari Damacy Reroll assigns a time limit and a minimum katamari size that the player must reach within that specified time. In the beginning players will only be given a few short minutes to reach their size, but by the end some of the levels can be explored for more than twenty minutes. Katamari Damacy Reroll has players control their katamari by using both sticks simultaneously to move in certain directions. Pointing both forwards or back will move the katamari correspondingly, but moving them in opposite directions will allow the player to turn their katamari around. These controls are very unwieldy at times, but that actually lends to giving the katamari a kind of weighty feeling as it continues to grow. Once the katamari reaches larger sizes part of the challenge becomes trying to make the controls work in the player's favor, which is a bonus, not a detriment to gameplay. There are side missions in Katamari Damacy Reroll as well that offer differing kinds of challenges. The majority of these have players roll up constellations that require specific objects. Pisces, for example, will need as many fish as physically possible, so players will need to look for fish or fish-related objects throughout the world. One of the more interesting is the Make the North Star mission which doesn't give players a time limit nor a size gauge for their katamari. Instead players end the mission when they think they are as close to ten meters as possible. These side missions add some fun little twists to an already deep premise. Developer and publisher Bandai Namco's Katamari Damacy Reroll is little more than a simple re-skin of the original game, but that has not stopped it from being just as magical an experience as it was a decade and a half ago and what’s better even yet as now those that missed it can enjoy an even better experience today on their Xbox One consoles.… Expand

    The magic just isnt here in this lazy low budget port job. No 4K not even 60 Fps on any console. The game evrn stutters at 30 fps.Secondly why just the first game that didnt even get a world wide release!! If We luv Katamari was also in there it might be worth, at least I would have had some naustalgia , but just one game out of a series of at least 5 games feels like a cheap cash grab.The magic just isnt here in this lazy low budget port job.     Katamari Damacy REROLL is not the best way to play Katamari Damacy. The faster load times and stable frame rate are par for the course with the ports to much more powerful consoles that came two generations later. This should have been so much more; there are too many features that have been bungled or got cut. Even though REROLL may not be ideal, the core gameplay of rolling a Katamari and picking stuff up and building a planet-sized ball is still gratifying and fun to watch.

    In a way, the soundtrack for Katamari Damacy REROLL on Xbox is a pretty good interpretation of the game itself. It’s eclectic, fun, weird and charming but perhaps a little antiquated when looking at it now. With better technology, this could lead us to a great sequel, but for now it’s just a short, pleasant experience.

    With Katamari Damacy getting a remake we can only hope other titles such as We Love Katamari also get a chance at being revived as well. For now, it’s nice to see that the series hasn’t been forgotten and for those who haven’t been able to try this gem finally get a chance to.
