    Game plays excellently like the PC version, its one hell of a ride! from the start to finish non stop action and gore. I got this on pc, ps4 and xbox and switch, yes! i bought 4 copies! highly recommended.

Ion Fury has all the nostalgic killing sprees from memory lane. The game formerly known as "Ion Maiden" was changed for legal reasons. The good news is Ion Fury is a far more memorable experience, mainly because the studio clearly adores the era from which this shooter draws its inspirations; by utilizing its knowledge of the game engine to pack in as much detail as possible into every pixel. From neon-drenched streets to smoky bars and arcades, the game's setting drips with personality and ran exceptionally well on the Xbox One X. Ion Fury does feature a handful of modern improvements, such as automatic save points, headshots and visually a quality higher than painfully old school games it tips its hat to. Ion Fury is still a refreshingly old school game. Whether you’re a guns blazing or one who prefers strategic battle, Ion Fury will not hold your hand, even on the lowest of difficulties this game makes you work for progress. This is a game made with the old corridor shooter way of thinking - learn enemy patterns, make your shots connect and look high and low for health, armor, and ammo. There is a story, but it’s the action and the level design that do most of the talking. Levels twist back on each other, revealing new shortcuts and secret rooms, leading to backtracking that feels natural as you find new key cards to unlock new doors, collecting health, armor, and ammo as you progress. Voidpoint has really pushed Ion Fury's game engine to its limit. Every enemy is effectively a walking "Hogan's Alley" style cutout, with detail and finishes that really provide the overall experience, like the impressive fire effects and how hitting an enemy with a shotgun up close will stagger and force them back a few steps from the weapon's force. If you’re looking for a retro shooter that isn’t actually old port of a game from the era revisited, then Ion Fury is the new game from the past you’ve been waiting to get your hands on. While its weapons and boss fights won’t leave life changing memories, the speed and intensity of its gunfights and the intricacy of Ion Fury's level design, more than make up for the lack of memorable events in a total package that in the end ultimately delivers exactly what it set out to. If you want to be punished and rewarded by the "genre" that proved itself all these years ago you will find that in Ion Fury. Despite being set in a dystopian world complete with neon-drenched cityscapes and gun-toting androids, Ion Fury’s arsenal weapons are oddly fun to wield, but nothing new to put you in awe. The game's original title was very fitting and in the end to say that I had a "blast" playing Ion Fury would be an understatement as a fan of retro gaming.… Expand

    I absolutely love this game. My son bought it for me for Mother's Day because he knows I am a huge old school shooter fan. It is everything we want in a shooter, full of secrets and easter eggs and levels that are challenging and super fun. I hope we get the new Serious Sam soon but until then this game ticks all the boxes. Highly recommended.

    This is the typical low effort PC port yep they're still asking maximum dollars for it. No effort has been put into adapting Mouse to controller and the controls are constantly kumbesan and annoying. Those things are side the game still fails to elicit Andy nostalgia there are far better first person Shooters out there.

    Ion Fury for Xbox One X is an example of worthy endeavors implemented through the bottom. The modern player is likely to be repelled by its specific appearance and problems with variety, and its current technical condition with impassable bugs and performance issues makes it possible to recommend only the PC version to old-school connoisseurs and fans of pixel experiences.

    Ion Fury is a brutal, frantic and desecrating FPS recalling the old splendor of the Duke Nukem 3D era. It includes all the downsides of the "fake 3D" games of the '90s too, but for lovers of that kind of experience will be very satisfying.

    Ion Fury is a wonderful throwback to classic FPS games I grew up with. It hits all the right notes with its design, weapons, and pacing. I wish the technical issues were ironed out before launch, but if you go in knowing those caveats and the possibility of being fixed in the future, a good time can be had. Ion Fury was great and beefy experience that fans of Duke, Blood, and Shadow Warrior can happily put in their collection right next to those gems.
